Community Manager Rachel here again and extremely excited to announce – we’re almost exactly one month from the early access launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley on September 6th. Let the official countdown to your first visit to Dreamlight Valley begin! While I know you’ve all been waiting to #LiveMagically, our Development Team has seen your continued enthusiasm and wishes for specific game features and fan-favorite items to be present in the game. And to acknowledge your support, I’m also ecstatic to share more exciting news – in addition to the official countdown to early access launch day, we’re kicking off a Community Challenge !

So, what is this exactly? Simply put, with your help, we’ll commit to adding certain in-game items and game features as the Community unlocks them by following and wishlisting the game on ALL available platforms. While Disney Dreamlight Valley will regularly receive updates that will feature new items and game features for Valley villagers to enjoy, the inclusion of the unlockable additions from player participation in this campaign will be solely thanks to YOU! Keep in mind that we’re currently focused on making the game’s core components as magical as possible, and these new items, once realized, will be included later in the Early Access period and after the game officially launches in free-to-play.
Here’s a sneak peek at the challenge rewards you’ll be able to unlock by following and wishlisting Disney Dreamlight Valley:

• 5k Discord Followers: We’ll create and gift an extraordinary Hero’s Armor Clothing Set to all players.
• 35k Instagram + Twitter followers collectively: We’ll create and gift an iconic Disney Dreamlight Valley Partner’s Statue to all players.
• 150k total wishlists across all platforms: We’ll work with you, our Community, to create a new Community Designed Animal Companion.
• 200k total wishlists across all platforms: We’ll add a variety of Villager Skins so you can dress up your Valley Villagers.
• 250k total wishlists across all platforms: We’ll add the ability to visit your friend’s Valley’s with Multiplayer Valley Visits.

We’re currently so, *so *close to the first wishlisting goal. As we reach milestones in the challenge, I’ll be sure to update you on our progress of realizing these items and features in-game! That said, it’s worth noting again that we are committed to focusing on core gameplay features at this time; these bonus features and items will be included later in the Early Access period and after the game officially launches in free-to-play. Of course, when we have more news about each item or game feature’s development, we’ll be sure to celebrate with you!

I've been sitting on this news since Saturday - you've all CRUSHED the campaign! We're now well over 150k wishlists - and I'm happy to announce that the first milestone has officially been unlocked!

That means that during the Early Access period, we'll launch a campaign to create a brand-new animal companion in the game - designed by the Community! While we're currently nailing down the details for everything else we have set up for the launch of Early Access, I'll be sure to reveal more information on this campaign in the future!

With that, we're also SO incredibly close to reaching both of the Follower Goals. Will we hit them this week? 👀

Hey @everyone!

Here to drop you a quick update on the Community Challenge. While we aren’t unlocking any goals today, I wanted to share that our team is so excited about the passion you’ve expressed by unlocking the first two goals.

We’re currently less than 4k followers away from unlocking the last Follower Goal, and we’re sitting a little bit shy of the second Wishlist Goal. That said, we still have plenty of time until the release of Early Access, and I’m confident we’ll unlock both remaining goals.

Even though I don’t have news about a new goal being unlocked, I am SO EXCITED to share news about a previous unlocked goal – the Heroic Clothing Set! While it may be some time before I can share more on the 3D version, today I’m revealing the completed concept art!

We hope you love it! This armor set will be available for all body types in-game. I personally can’t wait to see what adventures everyone gets up to as a Dreamlight Valley Knight.

I look forward to updating you on the other goals as they are unlocked in the near future. Until then, stay tuned for more news coming !

Does Disney Dreamlight Valley support Cross Progression?

At this time, if you wish to play on multiple platforms, you will need to purchase a Founder’s Pack Edition for each console.```

**If I purchase Disney Dreamlight Valley on a Nintendo Switch/Xbox/PlayStation, can other accounts on that console play the game? Will they have their own save files?**

Last week was a huge week for Disney Dreamlight Valley – not only did we announce Founder’s Pack editions and pre-orders opened on some platforms, but we also launched the Avatar Designer Tool. At 37k selfies and counting, our team has been fueled by the creativity of our fans, and we cannot wait for you to have access to the full game on September 6th.

What’s more is the explosion of wishlists and followers on our social accounts! __We are happy to announce that as of today, we are able to unlock two more goals of the Community Challenge: __

We assure you that our team is hard at work on these improvements and it is on the way. And for our future Mac players out there, in order to ensure you don't miss out, we plan to re-open the First Week Bonus for Mac owners upon its release. We've seen many players running into issues with Cloud Saves.

At this time, due to many players moving to Disney Dreamlight Valley at once, players may need to retry several times to create a Cloud Save account. We realize this isn't ideal, and are working our magic behind the scenes to make this process smoother as soon as possible!

As note, there is no problem playing offline without first creating a Cloud Save. You can create one later, and once this issue has been resolved, all your save progress will carry over!

Hey there Valley Villagers!

Sorry for any issues changing your outfits post-porting your Avatar Code because of a 'Ghost item'. We know this has caused a few issues with a specific Scrooge quest. 🪙

While we don't have a fix for this immediately, a work-around is to jump into your Wardrobe and switch each item for all/most clothing slots (ie. head, neckwear, pants...) to replace the 'Ghost item' with something else in your Wardrobe.

This bug will be properly addressed in an upcoming hotfix! A huge thank you to all that reported this.

Hello Valley Villagers!

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share issues they are running into in #archived-bugs-and-issues and their feedback in #archived-suggestions-chat. Our team is actively working on many of the flagged issues, and we hope to have more news soon.

One issue we are readily aware of crashes on <@&979796253191864320>. Our team is working to improve stability as a top priority, and you can expect updates to be pushed over the next few days.

We have also seen reports of issues with claiming blue chests on Switch. We are working to fix certain issues with online connectivity. The current workaround for this issue is rebooting the game. When you reboot you will NOT lose access to the chest, it will be in the same location it used to be.

Howdy Valley Villagers!

We're happy to announce that we have even more good news for Switch owners today! Yesterday, a number of you helpfully flagged that you were running into issues loading the game on Switch during certain hours.

We can now confirm that we pushed an update this morning that has since resolved this issue!

Hey Valley Villagers!

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone here who has taken the time to either report a bug/issue or helped out their fellow Community members by redirecting them to the correct resource.

Our team has been working our magic behind the scenes and is diligently looking into resolving priority issues affecting the majority of players as soon as possible. Chief among those issues is that not all players have access to their Founder’s Pack rewards. We are committed to making sure that everyone receives their rewards, regardless of the platform that they are on. While we don’t have a fix as of now, we are targeting next week to deploy the hotfix.

In the interim, you can still play and enjoy Disney Dreamlight Valley! Additionally, because we’ve seen it asked, should you choose to delete your game and start fresh, you will retain access to your Founder’s Pack rewards (regardless of whether you received them or not) as they are tied to your platform account (not to be confused with your Cloud Save account) vs. a game save.

Regarding Cloud Saves – while explained earlier, we think it’s useful to share once again that you do not need one to enjoy the game and its online functions (such as the Star Path). You only need a Cloud Save account for crossplay functionality. We are still investigating Cloud Save account issues as well.

A few last things to note!

• Users running into Error#7 can get in touch with our team via https://gameloft.helpshift.com/hc/en/66-disney-dreamlight-valley/contact-us/, and we will manually fix their account.
• We are aware that a few quests (ie. WALL-E, Scrooge questlines) have had their progression halted because of items being stuck or not appearing/resolving quest objectives. We will be releasing a fix for these along with our Founder’s Pack hotfix.
• We recommend that you DO NOT Time Skip. While we understand that there are many benefits to time skipping, there are also unintended errors. As we are currently in the Early Access period, we will not be prioritizing issues caused by time skipping, as it is not the intended gameplay experience.
• Use your Dream Shards wisely! We granted all players on launch access to 40 shards. We do not recommend players to use these to unlock realms/biomes by converting them to Dream Dust. You should ideally save your Dream Shards for quest requests, and use Dream Dust earned through daily objectives to unlock realms/biomes.
  o We recommend you put your Dream Shards in the chest in your home for safekeeping 😉
  o We will also be looking into Dream Shard spawn rates based off Community Feedback, so stay tuned!
  o In the interim, we highly recommend feeding animals to collect more Dream Shards as well! For some tips and tricks on feeding/approaching them, check out the pinned posts in #archived-share-your-hints !

Speaking of Dream Shards and the above tips on when to use 'em and when to save 'em, we're in the process of sending each <@&965666136991617136> 25 more Dream Shards

These should begin arriving in your in-game mailbox any moment now. Simply make sure you're online to receive this mail. If you're already in the game and not seeing the mail, we recommend you give it 5 minutes. If you still aren't seeing anything, it may require a quick reboot of the game to make the mail appear.

But of course, remember to use those Dream Shards wisely! Whether you're stuck on a quest or looking to stuff a few more in the chest at home for safekeeping until you **do **need them, these should help out with your first days in Dreamlight Valley!

It turns out there are quite a few mailboxes in Dreamlight Valley!

Upcoming Fixes

Happy one-week post-Early Access launch! A huge thank you to everyone who has shared feedback which has allowed our team to identify and squash even more bugs!

We are still working on the patch and wanted to give visibility on some of the issues we have prioritized - including some new additions - so you have a good idea of what to expect in this update! Check them out below:

✅ Multiple fixes for quest progression tied to unreachable, missing, and unrecognized items. These include fixes for a variety of NPC Quests (hint: ❄️ 🦆 🐭 🧙‍♂️ 👢) that have been reported.
✅ Reduced Switch crashes.
✅ Fix for changing clothes.
✅ Fix for Ariel Friendship Dress.
✅ Fix for Remy Friendship Oven.
✅ Improved Dream Shard drop frequency.
✅ Storage chests disappearing from homes once expanded.

We really appreciate the enthusiasm you've all had for the introduction of forum channels! As we've had time to watch their use, we've noticed a sharp influx of repeat threads in #1019676691603402792. It's important to us that things are trackable and it's as easy as possible for you to jump into the topics you want to flag.

For this reason, we're going to run an experiment with limiting the creation of new threads in #1019676691603402792 to mods and CMs, as we centralize discussion in this channel under more general issue-type topics. We want to make sure it's as easy as possible for you to report your issues in a way that can be shared with the dev team, after all! If the experiment works out? Great - we have a more streamlined way of tracking issues! If not? No stress, we'll continue to explore other options 🙂

You'll notice that our wonderful mod team have already begun creating these (i.e. Cloud Saves - Main Thread), so if there are any other general topics that you feel this channel would benefit from, please don't hesitate to share them in the #archived-server-feedback channel.

As we head into the weekend, we wanted to provide you with a quick status update on the next batch of fixes. The team's been hard at work on another wave of fixes - many of which were reported right here in the Discord! - since the release of the last patch.

While we don't have timing of the next patch to share quite yet, we're aiming to share a first look at some of the fixes you can expect as part of a post early next week. We're still a ways out from the next patch, but want to make sure you have a good idea of what to expect, as early in the process as we can 🙂

And because we don't want to leave you with just an announcement of an announcement (before an announcement), we can confirm that the team's actively investigating the issues that have been flagged for Cloud Saves, have 40+ fixes in the works including one for the Wall-E lightbulb quest, and we may just have something special in the works regarding animal companions 😉

We can't wait to share more details of the upcoming fixes next week (again, to be clear, the patch is not coming next week)! Suggestions Forum

• Name to be changed to game-suggestion-submissions
• This space will be ordered similar to Bugs/Issues Forums, where only Moderators can create Posts, and general members can Comment on those Posts. The idea is that this space can be more easily utilized by Gameloft to check out player suggestions, and not function as a discussion space.
• We will bring back a Suggestions text channel, where players can discuss ideas. This will feature a reoccurring bot-message that will remind users that while the channel is for chatter, and players should submit their ideas in the forum.
• Moderators will be cleaning up the forum, archiving old posts and making the post categories. If you see your thread has been archived, never fear! We still have access to this on our end, and will be referring to all past suggestions as well.

⏰ Update 1 is coming soon! While players should be able install it on October 19th, 9AM EST, some platforms may take more time to deploy the update. ⏰

To make sure you're prepared, our team recommends a few things before and after you update your game.

✅ Before updating your game, make sure to save your game. If you are using cross-save, connect to the internet and save to the Cloud as well. Afterwards, close your game completely.
*As many players may be cloud-saving in preparation for the launch of Update 1, don't panic if you run into issues trying to save to the Cloud. Please try again, and you should be able to do so!
✅ Once you connect to the internet to update your game, if you are using cross-save, do not play the game on a different device offline.
✅ After the game has updated, load the game, and save immediately before progressing. If using cross-save, we recommend opening the game on one device, saving and closing, and then opening your other devices and repeating this process.

✨ Once updated, the new Star Path is available for you from day 1. All players can hop in and enjoy!
🦁 Scar’s story arc is a story update. In order to enjoy it, players will need to advance in the game. You will need to have the Sunlit Plateau unlocked, and have completed “The Curse” quest which involves fixing the pillars of Friendship, Courage, Trust, and Power.

TOP FIXES

• Improved stability & performance on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch
• Improved Founder's Pack item granting in player mailboxes. This should help resolve some issues which have persisted. The team will continue to investigate additional fixes if any players continue to encounter issues
• Improved Cloud Save system. In the case of a Cloud Save conflict, players will now be prompted by an in-game pop-up to select which save file they would like to sync with. A screenshot is included later in the patch notes
• Reduced the intensity of lightning storms flashes
• Fixed an issue which prevented players picking up the lightbulb in WALL·E's house
• Stone Soup is now recognized as cooked for players who are stuck on "The Spirits of Nature" quest
• Fixed Memory Pieces that spawned within the counter in Scrooge’s Store
• Wild crops (mushrooms, spices, etc.) will now respawn in a different place every morning. This means that crops spawning in inaccessible areas will not remain inaccessible and will respawn in a new location every day
• Rain will now properly water plants
• Improved the zone within which 'The Honored Place' registers in "The Ceremony” quest

Hi @everyone . We wanted to take a moment to thank you for an incredible update launch day. We've been closely monitoring your feedback and appreciate the detail you always bring forth - it's a great help to the team as it helps to identify and investigate fixes.

Specifically, we want to thank you for your feedback about flashing, strobing, and camera shake effects, and the potential for discomfort that they can cause. We are committed to continually improving on the game and player comfort is an integral part of that!

We are currently discussing how we can prioritize reducing and eliminating player discomfort that stems from the following effects, and want to ensure you are aware of these in-game cases should you have any sensitivities to flashing, strobing, or screen shake effects:

• Lightning effect and rain animation (flashing)
• Low energy effect (flashing + strobing)
• Fishing bobbing and success effects (flashing + screen shake + wobble)
• Digging effect (screen shake + wobble)

We intend to share an update on next steps for this topic soon, so please stay tuned.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley team appreciates all the feedback we received from players following our first major content update to the game. The team is hard at work on a new hotfix, and we wanted to provide an update regarding the issues related to the Exhaustion/Low Energy Warning, Screen Shake, and Flashing Light effects. The following changes will be implemented as part of the next hotfix:

• The exhaustion effect added in the Scar's Kingdom update will be removed from the game
• A toggle option will be added to turn off screen shake effects
• A toggle option will be added to turn off flashing light effects in the game
• A photosensitive seizure warning will be added to the boot screen when launching the game

As with all hotfixes of this nature, we're not currently able to communicate the exact date it will go live in the game, and we encourage you to check out the Trello Issue Tracker Board for the latest information on known issues.

Have you already uncovered the eerie-sistible Halloween-themed Village Dreamlight Duties?

Regardless of whether you’ve started them or not – we’ve got one last trick for the Halloween Season in Disney Dreamlight Valley!

In addition to all the Halloween content in the Villains Star Path (running until November 22nd), from October 24, 2022 until October 31, 2022 you will now find some extra treats around the Plaza in your Valley. Three different colors of Candy Bowls (red, green, and purple) will spawn in this area, acting as “chests”! Once opened, they will drop matching colored candies. Expect even more Candy Bowls to spawn on Halloween!

Once you’ve claimed your sweets, you can use them to decorate your Village, or complete Halloween-themed duties. Don’t forget to give your Villagers candies on Halloween, either! Or, you can eat them all; that’s up to you.

Keep in mind that Halloween Candies and Candy Bowls will not disappear after Halloween, but will stop spawning. You only have until the end of Halloween to claim them however, so don’t miss out on these sweet seasonal rewards.

We have successfully developed a fix for this issue and will be deploying it in phases, beginning this morning.

The first phase will be a hotfix for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation that has just begun deployment.

The next phase will support players on Switch and we will share more details this afternoon.

Unfortunately, the issue on Switch will take more time to fix due to the complexities of Early Access.

Temporary Switch workaround: If your profile is saved in the Cloud and you own the game on another platform, you can:

Monetization is no different, as we want to make sure we're offering a high quality experience that you, the player, feel good about as we improve the game during its Early Access phase. Of course, it's important to us that the items and bundles on offer truly feel premium. We understand that some of the initial bundles received more feedback than others, so we will continue to iterate on the shop in the future.

We wanted to kick off the week by acknowledging that a number of known issues were added to our Trello issue tracker board last week following the launch of our latest update. The team is aware of these issues and looking into what may be causing them. As always, the Trello board can be found here:

🐛 Avatar skin texture changes hue and pattern (workaround available, see below)
🐛 Passion lilies in the Frosted Heights appear red until picked up
🐛 STITCH - "Stitch's Hobby" quest issue re: repaired television
🐛 "Go Fishing with Scrooge" duty is translated incorrectly in French (workaround available, see below)
🐛 Nala's icon in the Quest HUD appears incorrectly

POSSIBLE WORKAROUNDS

__Mustache bug __

• On any device - Close the game. Open the game. Go straight to the Wardrobe and the Facial Hair section to be able to remove it.
• On Switch - Use the touchscreen to toggle it off.
• On PC - Use the mouse to toggle it off.

Avatar skin texture bug

• Some players have reported that turning the game off and turning it back on again resolves this issue.

Fishing with Scrooge duty bug

• Despite the incorrect translation, if the player goes fishing with Scrooge 25 times, the duty will complete as intended.

We have discovered a minor issue which will prevent us from launching the macOS version of Update 5 on June 7. We are actively working on this and hope to have an update on macOS release timing to share soon.

While we'll be sharing more details over the coming week, we wanted to answer a couple of the most common ones, so let's dive into DreamSnaps below!

Q: Will Vanellope also be joining the Valley this update?
A: You bet! You've all been so patient and we can't wait for you to meet her.

Q: Do I need social media to participate in DreamSnaps?
A: Nope! DreamSnaps submissions, voting and rewards are handled entirely in-game.

Q: Who will be able to earn weekly Moonstones?
A: Each week, everyone who participates will earn a minimum of 300 Moonstones! This amount can increase depending on your score and placement in that week's challenge. Even better, you can earn 50 more Moonstones per week by voting.

Excited to learn more? We'll be sharing a blog post soon that walks you through the entire DreamSnaps process.

Throughout the day, we have deployed multiple server-side improvements to DreamSnaps. These are things we can tweak without releasing an update.

This has reduced the chances of players encountering issues in the voting menu.

The team are continuing to investigate this issue and are looking into further, more comprehensive improvements that can be included in the upcoming hotfix.

Player houses which had the Haunted Mansion or Haunted “Before Christmas” Mansion House Style applied have been reverted to default, which should fix Error 201 and enable players to play the game.

For now, please DO NOT re-apply either of these House Styles.

Haunted Mansion Bundle contents will remain in their owners inventories, and owners will find compensation via in-game mail today. Our team is working on a more comprehensive fix for this issue, planned for an upcoming hotfix.

A couple of the bug fixes we feel will be relevant to players here include:

• Fixed an issue which would trigger Game Initialization Error #201 if the game is closed and reopened with either of the Haunted Mansion House Styles set on the main player house. *Please note: You are now able to equip the Haunted Mansion House Styles to your heart’s content! *
• Fixed an issue which caused increased lag within the Beauty and the Beast Realm.
• In order to reduce crash instances, we have temporarily capped Xbox Series S and X platforms at 30fps. *We are actively investigating further improvements to benefit these platforms and will keep you updated on these developments. *
• Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the Map menu.
• Fixed an issue in which the entrance to the Beach House House Style was flipped 90 degrees.

AN UPDATE ON DISNEY DREAMLIGHT VALLEY: COZY EDITION

With the launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley: Cozy Edition approaching, there have been some slight delays to its release timing.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Cozy Edition will release as previously announced on Nintendo Switch in North American retailers on October 27, 2023.

On November 10, 2023, Cozy Edition will release on Nintendo Switch in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia. This same day, it will also release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One at major retailers in North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.

❗ Known Issue with 3D Glasses quest item ❗

We recommend that players DO NOT purchase the 3D Glasses from Scrooge McDuck's store until they are prompted to do so as a step in the “Oswald’s Many Dimensions” quest, where they should purchase the 3D glasses by talking to Scrooge and use the Clothing Catalogue option.

We have identified an issue where players are able to purchase 3D Glasses from the accessory pedestals prior to initiating the quest. Purchasing this item before initiating the relevant quest step will impede progress in Oswald’s friendship questline.

We are working to resolve this issue as a top priority and hope to have more to share soon. Thank you for your patience!

This morning, we deployed a temporary fix for the 3D Glasses issue impacting the “Oswald’s Many Dimensions” quest.

Those who were affected should find that their quest has successfully progressed to the next stage after rebooting the game.

We've discovered a known issue which has the potential to affect players as they participate in the Dreamlight Parks Fest in-game event, which kicks off today.

Below, we've broken out the relevant details and a step you can take to avoid this issue:

ISSUE ➡️ Cooking certain items (see below) while outdoors in the Valley and Eternity Isle may cause the game to freeze on some platforms.

WORKAROUND➡️ This issue can be avoided by cooking while inside buildings or in realms.

✨ Update on High Priority Issues ✨

We wanted to let you know that your voices are being heard about issues currently present in the game and sincerely thank you for your time and effort in reporting these issues.

The Valley is made so magical because of its passionate community and we want to make sure we're doing right by you.

As we work towards our next content update, the following issues are being treated as top priorities by the team as we investigate fixes for them:

➡️ Game crashes
➡️ Objects appearing as invisible
➡️ Inability to accept event quests

As we evaluate next steps for these issues, we wanted to ensure we provided some support in the interim:

✨ 1. Compensation ✨

We are currently distributing in-game mail to all players that should help offset the issues impacting accepting event quests. This includes both Moonstones and Green Buttons, which can be used to craft event rewards.

✨ 2. Issue Workaround ✨

Should you run into an issue accepting daily quests or find that objects have disappeared in your Valley, rebooting the game has been observed to help alleviate both issues. If you are just concerned about accessing daily quests, launching, closing, and then relaunching the game at the beginning of your play session has also been noted to help. While we acknowledge that this may not be ideal, we hope that it assists in mitigating any challenges in the interim.

Issues that disrupt your experience in the Valley and get in the way of enjoying in-game events are understandably frustrating, so it is essential to us that getting these resolved is our utmost priority.

We appreciate your patience and support in reporting these issues!

A fix has been deployed to resolve the issue where Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale – Magical Edition Moonstones and exclusive bundle contents were delayed for some players.

We've been closely monitoring your valuable feedback and wanted to provide an update on several high-priority issues following the launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale expansion pass.

In addition to our ongoing investigation of the issue affecting some players’ access to the Moonstone and cosmetic contents of the edition they purchased, we are planning to include fixes for the following issues in the upcoming Sew Delightful update, scheduled for release on December 4:

➡️ Quest progression blockers for "Archery and Archrivals" including missing posters and Villager conversations not triggering.
➡️ Quest progression blockers for "The Company of the Wolf" where players cannot locate all buried items or dig spots spawning on surfaces that cannot be interacted with.
➡️ Items spawning in inaccessible locations, such as flowers in The Bind under the bridge.
➡️ Inkies that are removed not contributing to duties or achievements.

We have identified an issue where players doing so may be unable to access that house upon leaving and returning, or may restrict access to the “Elevator” when these specific room sizes are used.

This issue does not affect areas where this item is not placed.
