Infinite pass is the result of upgraded old account. No idea if due to said upgrade, the account progress was broken or something else. It happened around patch 2.2(?), i'm new post 2.4, so my login was infinite pass from the start.
Guess the only choice is to contact support [e-mail] explain them your issue and ask about binding to google account.
Hope you can retrieve the account or if forced to restart, you haven't spend a thing.

Close launcher , find and delete content of this folder : %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher
Just the content, not the folder itself, then test the launcher again.

If still blank like that, delete whole launcher folder and reinstall the launcher from TOF main website.

If still blank again, something is preventing the launcher to connect to server. ( if that's minecraft icon at your taskbar, close the game 1st then try again )

tbs_browser is an embedded web-browser, not a virus. However since you've mentioned malware, are you getting some popup from an AV? What type of security software is present on the machine?

-- Most common known interactions are from COMODO and Bitdefender, which you'll notice in the pins. Behavior of these AV's has changed a bit over time and has not been re-tested, they can prevent the game from launching entirely (despite that the pin only refers to ingame shop interactions).

No error code meaning that you've looked in the Windows Event Viewer, Application tab, and there's no application crashes recorded? Also take it that there's no "window" displayed for the game.

For a start, recommendation would be wiping out the contents of: "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\" {completely close the launcher and steam first}

Then, attempting to re-launch the game and seeing what files / folders are generated in that path.

Hopefully there'll be more than just "intl_auth.txt", and if we're really lucky an engine log generated or crash dumps.

However, since you're not seeing a game window, that's unfortunately less likely and the expectation is that you're going to just see intl_auth in there.

Files failing to be validated means that there was an integrity mismatch on those files and that they need to be reacquired.

That's promising, since the game might just be damaged.

Likely that means the big data packs (asset archives) were corrupt.

It's interesting that you didn't get an error thrown though, since typically corruption {of the paks} will at least net a game window, and a crash-dump ending with a panic read.

The hopes are that your client is getting far enough that it's recording a log or dump. If anything is being generated, and if you can DM me a copy -- would be happy to take a look and see if we can figure out what's going on there.

Regardless the nature of the problem you'll have better luck asking on the associated Discord. You mentioned the Playstation release of the game, which is not the Global release.

The account system of the games are entirely different, and there's no connection between Global and Playstation.

I did the usual tasks like every update with the user config + some other basics.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work at all anymore.

@coral arrow – The game should be roughly “50GB” between the game’s assets, launcher, configuration, and launcher and client caches respectively.

If your installation is 96GB, likely you have two copies of the assets present, and or the launcher’s downloads were not properly flushed for some reason.

@remote quartz , @quasi gazelle – I note that Akio’s install succeeded.
Steam’s update and installation process for games should be generally pretty reliable. If a verification is also failing, then I’d be suspect that there might be something wrong with the disk holding the game’s assets.

I’d recommend running chkdsk such as the following from an administrative command prompt:

chkdsk <partition letter of Steam installation>: /f /x

e.g:
chkdsk c: /f /x

-- Were there any errors found and corrected for the partition? If there were, try again on Steam.
If not, take a look under the Windows Event Viewer, “System” section. Are there any disk related read / write warnings during running Steam and attempting to verify or install the game?

Check S.M.A.R.T. records of the disk using a tool such as Crystal Disk Info: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/. Are there any listed relocations, stalls, and so on in the drive’s metrics?

Yep, a failing drive is usually what this winds up being. The disk may be retrying to read data many times, yet ultimately succeeding. That would mean you might see no errors in the partition table (from chkdsk), yet you might see early failure signs in the Event Viewer and SMART records.

Basically, if you find any sign of the drive being on its way out, you'll want to backup your data and migrate to a new disk before it completely fails.

PS5 issues. Trying to do Character Creation. Cannot select between Male and Female. The cursor just won't go over there. Touch Pad rotates the camera, but worse it tries to act like a mouse and can randomly click stuff while trying to create, resetting certain settings at times. Color Wheel lacks basic white, black, grey options, and the default color isn't even on the wheel for hair. The "Default Dye" button also does nothing. This is all exacerbated by the fact you can't just plug up a mouse or keyboard to control things either.

Is there any feedback or fixes for any of this? If just the creator is so janky, don't have confidence in the actual game.
EDIT: Cursor can be used by Square+Triangle on the Creator, right stick to control. There is no indication this is a feature. Square is also the next button, while Triangle is the Complete button. Really really bad design there.

Each time finishing weekly points ( 150 - 300 - and so on ) and clicking the weekly reward, you'll get points to progress at monthly pass.

Should fix the graphical issue.
If not, delete folder content of this folder : %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\ and then relaunch the game. ( will need to select your server again )

Clear the game cache from setting -> app, just the cache not game files.
Reduce the in game display setting while trying to maintain 60 fps.
IIRC there is a quirk setting somewhere, turn it off / on to reduce Zeke's flash bang issue.
If those still causing odd display problem, see if your device support changing display. Better if support app display, try changing into UHD / HD / other resolution.

Hey, my friend´s having a problem with ToF. She reinstalled windows and installed again all updates and amd software and all that. Now, after installing ToF update, whenever she launches the game it goes into a black screen for a second and then instantly closes and goes back into the launcher again. How long ago {roughly} was that old account accessed? For instance, was this before Vera (version 2.0)?
-- Reason for asking is because the account binding system was altered after the release of 2.0, eliminating the ability to unbind accounts via the account center. This was done for the sake of user-safety, and it substantially makes it more difficult for an account to be 'transferred'.

Generally these cases wind up not being account theft, and more just not recalling exactly how you've signed into the game {given a long time has elapsed}. If it's a Google Account, make sure that you're trying both the account as "gmail" (plain old email), and via Google's external sign-in provider [clicking the Google Icon instead of the raw email / password field].

If you're unable to locate your account, you'll need to #game-support to get an investigation going into what happened to your character(s). They'll either assist you with recovery, or in finding the apppropriate sign-in method.

Since you've stated an iPhone, and presumably that other regions "work". The difference in this case is that you're loading into an established character vs a new character. Usually on iPhones on cellular data, the game will initially function and connection / load-in works fine. As you play the game, acquire items, levels, weapons, and otherwise grow your character data, this increases the amount of data that's exchanged during the initial load-in {until the problem starts being exhibited}.

Possible that you can try connecting from "WIFI" {a home Internet Connection} instead of mobile-data?

There's generally been a "quirk" with cellular data on iPhones (specifically Apple's Phones), where no device (be that a PC, Android Tablet, and so on) can connect using tethered / hotspot data from the iPhone. e.g, it's something about how cellular data is provisioned on iPhones. Usually people find that if they transplant their device's sim card {without changing carrier} into another device {other than iPhone}, they can hotspot data through that sim and things just work.

• At least with respect to the game's disconnections.

PC / Windows Client? For starters, try closing the game, signing out of the launcher (complete sign-out if there's login persistence being used), closing the launcher, checking the system tray to verify that the launcher is no longer running.

Then, re-start the launcher, and sign back in fresh, followed by launching the game.

There's no good solution, and the proposed ones on various forums / Reddit will induce other issues / break the UI. Hence why we can't recommend them.

Far as the rationale of "why", you could consider that the game contains an anti-cheat, and emulation of another platform or virtualization would be circumventing the anti-cheat that otherwise would be active on the PC platform.

In your case on Linux, the best bet to adhere to the user-agreement would be dual-booting Windows.

Unfortunately this is a longstanding known issue with mobile-data on iPhones. {explicitly with Apple's phones and not other iOS devices}

For instance, if you transplanted that sim-card from your iPhone over to an iPad, the iPad would be “likely” able to play the game on mobile-data.  Similarly, the iPhone would be able to connect through the iPad's mobile hotspot.  Additionally, if an iPhone runs a hotspot, no other device can connect through its hotspot data.  e.g, this has something to do with how mobile data is provisioned on Apple's Phones specifically with a given carrier’s network.

-- Only advice that we can really offer here at this time is to contact your cellular carrier and ask if there's any difference with how Apple's products (such as the iPad and iPhone families of devices) are provisioned on their network.
^ Especially if you own another iOS device like an iPad that you can transplant the sim into for the sake of testing.  {to verify it's not just the carrier itself}

But yes -- it's probably not the cellular carrier, and cellular data from that carrier likely will work with the game. I don't know if it'd be an option to get a hotspot, yet this tends to work where home Internet is not possible. Other brand devices would also tend to work.

The carrier themselves might also have ideas, so I'd recommend talking to them.

Since you mentioned the entire game closing, probably there's a crash-dump being generated.

Please check for the existence of crash-dump subfolders under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved_Steam\Crashes".
-- If you can send me a copy of the most recent of these subfolders (zipped up with an archive tool -- over DM's), would gladly take a look here and see if we can figure out what's happening.

That name was caused by previous server merge.
Duplicated name is sorted by server age and who made 1st. Your character is probably the ninth one.

As for unable to enter, close launcher and make sure not running at background, find these folders and empty their content :

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher_Steam\ < -- if using steam

Delete the launcher folder and reinstall launcher from TOF website. When asked to download game file, just point the launcher to existing game files

It is better to buy a PC setup than to buy a smart phone because the price of a smart phone is more expensive than a PC. For example, an iPhone costs $1,399 while you can get a mid-range gaming PC for $1,000-$2,000. The more games you can play and you can set to high graphics settings also

Hard reset your client by deleting content of these folders :
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher

At launcher -> go to top right menu -> system -> select your correct directx depend on your GPU quality.
Something like rtx 3080 ++ will need to use dx12.
At in-game to prevent further crashes, lower rendered amount of player. 8 is recommended since that's the amount of player in raid.

I have not been able to join any groups or participate because of this.

Use firefox -> open that bonker web page -> go to firefox menu, find more tools -> web developer tools
Open console tab -> refresh the bonker web page, do you see any error message there ? If not, click a lantern, do you see any error message ?

Hmm you have lots of plugin there, i thought you were using clean firefox install.
Some plugin can prevent a script from loading.
Try to disable all of them 1st. Then test web again by refreshing the page.

if that still fail :
open a new tab in firefox, type about:config, and then find security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy
change it from true to false.
Refresh the web page, see if you can proceed at the web.

which means, drag your cursor, the screen is actually like a camera, rotate around and test the other lanterns.
there should be other, test each, see which one responded to your click.

@hardy berry – Whenever you say that your account was lost coupled with that it was a year ago. Assuming that this was before 2.0 (Vera) release, and before the changes to the account system were made that removed the ability to unbind sign-in methods from the Account Center. Is that correct?

If you’re certain that you’re using the exact same sign-in method and are in the correct region {servers wise}, then you’d need to #game-support in such a situation. Customer Support would be able to investigate where your character(s) went, and after verifying ownership, help you recover access to them.

More often than not it’s "not" a case of account theft, and the most common reason for missing characters is being on a different account. For instance, in the case of “Google” accounts – make sure that you’re trying to sign in both via gmail {plain old email} and also using the Google external sign-in mechanism {Clicking on the Google button}.

@plain tusk -- Sounds like you’re describing a dead-lock where no frames are being pumped out and the game-window is completely unresponsive.
-- I note that you’ve attempted a config factory-reset, so this is assuming that doesn’t do the trick:

Try waiting two minutes if you’ve not already done that – to see if the rendering thread watchdog in UE4 kicks in and triggers a crash collection. If the game abruptly closes after that amount of time, then we might be able to inspect the crash-dumps generated and try to figure out why it’s stalling.

Even if the game doesn’t fully terminate: Please check for the existence of crash-dump subfolders under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes". [or, Saved_Steam – for the Steam variant of the game]

@craggy lark – A 3150u is under spec for the game {15w 14nm, dual-core, notebook chip}. Best bet with a system like that would be trying to lower the desktop resolution, or running the game windowed at a low-res to see if it improves framerate.

^ Which isn't to say that a 15-watt processor can't play ToF well. The Steam Deck for example does pretty good at that power budget, and so does the ASUS ROG Ally. However, these run newer architectures and are built on a newer process node.

System went down hard and the contents of the M.2 were corrupted after a reboot? Likely the disk failing caused the system to freeze, given the OS couldn't read anything off the disk.

Is the drive usable after rebooting the machine? What's the extent of the corruption you've mentioned?

Section of the disk, meaning the physical chip / memory cells -- containing Tower of Fantasy -- happened to be defective whereas the portions containing the other games were still good.

Sadly this happens a lot.

Basically, sheer luck.

It might even be possible to migrate the game to another portion of the drive, and it works. However, when a disk starts going like that and taking down a machine, I'd not recommend trying to use it any further.

Yeah, try reaching out to the manufacturer and also the shop, even if their store prescence is closed.

That's unexpected. The HDD's would be significantly slower, yet I'd expect them to work.

The SATA SSD should work, if it was an access speed issue. Yet again, I'd expect the HDD's to be able to acquire the game at least.

Whenever it's frozen, it might be a good idea to look at the Task Manager {or Windows Resource Monitor} and see what disk IO looks like.

So long as the machine itself doesn't lock up [abrupt poweroff or hard-lock], and remains responsive, and you're not seeing anything abnormal (warnings wise) in the Event Viewer. Anything else would be just configuration or software, meaning things you can solve -- even if it took a reinstallation of the OS.

Just on the description so far, I'm banking on that you're fine -- minus that faulty M.2 SSD.

Abrupt power-failures might've mucked up other things.

Running chkdsk on each of your drives [the remaining good ones] with the /f /x arguments, would be recommended.

I saw that the account ID was different from my original with both gmail and Google mechanism, so I deactvated them yesterday night. Hopefully I can recovered my original account. Essentially yes, pre-Vera, it was relatively easy to both add and remove account bindings. Post Vera, unbinding requires going through Customer Support {in all cases}. That of course significantly makes it harder if someone gains access to an account to add a new binding, and remove the old / aka, to directly steal or migrate a game-account.

Age wise you're definitely pre-Vera, so it's certainly a possibility that someone migrated your characters away. Either way, Support should be able to locate them if you can provide enough detail, and they'll either get you the sign-in methods associated (if you simply can't find the correct accounts), or -- get that recovery rolling.

I haven't check again, at firefox developer check - console tab, if you see lots of javasceipt outsourced to other url, some of them might get blocked. Preventing that website to work correctly.
