99% of the time if you're firing at any range that actually matters between calibers it doesn't actually matter because the AI just Does Not Interact™.
I mean that's true. The engagement distance shouldn't be more than a few hundred meters max, so I can just look at the table's stats and be content with it.

Accuracy is another thing entirely. The difference between 80% and 99% feels so absolutely miniscule that it might as well not matter, but that might just be me.

Yeah velocity should be what determines flatness since it results in the amount of time the round has to impact the intended target before gravity overcomes it

Loading a save really does fuck with what the AI is doing. I fee like YACS is around to help mitigate that a bit because if you just fired off quick saves in the middle of combat, loading them would make the AI forget you were there.

You can see stuff stop being rendered in waves as it gets farther away. The only stuff that's constant is the ground and actual buildings. That looks like low geometry to me. I don't mean LOD I mean like, baked map shit. Trees being entities, buildings being a part of the map file.

perhaps the property of stashboxes to be picked up by holding F gets erroneously attributed to a NPC's inventory (or the NPC itself), because I did press F to close the trade menu and my game often freezes for a little bit.

Lots of guns are missing attachments that SHOULD make sense. It's not as simple as just changing the .ltx. You gotta add the specific sight to the gun and export it as its own model from Blender, then make it a functioning weapon the game can call to in the files by adding it as its own alternative version in the base gun's file, not to mention making sure the attachment lines up on the icon in the inventory, and just...

next gamma should make all guns with picatinny to be able to have picatinny scope, unless the rail is too short to make the fit
Dovetail Mount. Usually only seen on Soviet Era guns afaik? The Picatinny Rail has become more or less a global standard to make sights and stuff easier to produce for all guns.
That would be 'simple', insofar as the mechanics behind it, but someone would have to go through and manually put every sight on every gun and export them as unique models to import into the game with unique coding in the .ltx files of the base gun. It's not HARD, it's just a LOT of work.
dovetail is more like on rimfire rifles of european origin, it's a different type of rail. Also it would be cool if we got scopes with adapter for the soviet side rail.
They're adding 10 more eotech scopes that don't go on most guns for this post . You will not go unpunished
I know they make picatinny adapters for dovetail mounts, but I can't expect that to be a thing here.
It would easily double the amount of 'guns' in the game as far as coding is involved.

you can have separate definitions for scopes and weapons, and i remember that it works by some kind of vector diplsacement to show the scope in correct place, so its separate mesh. it could be done, but it would definitely increase workload.

The way it's handled in-engine is every gun with an attachment on it is its own separate gun the game calls to when equipped. If it wasn't for some black magic that the modders who do stuff for ANOMALY have done, the debug weapon lists would be absolutely HAMMERED with 500 copies of the same gun but with this sight, or this sight, or this sight AND a silencer, or... etc.
I remember a time back on 0.8.something where that was the case.

They all exist like that in the code, but the attachment system we use is smart enough to exclude them from the debug list and only shows the base guns.

To be fair, I have used a PU scope in real life. They're not super comfortable to use. Being able to slap an adapter onto your Kechov mount so that you can use a SUSAT or something like that is a small price to pay for better sight picture.

And +- between the development of Stalker 2, GSC tried to port Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky to xbox 360.
GSC planned release Stalker 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3 (they even added x code of these platforms to X-Ray 2.0).

CS-3B vs Hybrid Armored...which one should I pick for doing BS ? I know I could just look at the stats sheet but like which one would be more fun....is the 3B worth it given that you don't get extra carry weight like the hybrid armored suit but it has pretty good rupture and explosive resistance

Weight over all tbh, at BS you are probably not tanking many hits anyway. You’ll want that juicy monolith loot, it’ll be some of the best gear you’ve looted thus far
Bring a pack too, you’ll almost certainly have 2 inventories worth of gear by the end. Dump all your looted stuff before you go into the bunker itself so you’re not fat while you fight in and out of there
