Have you not been field stripping all guns you come across to stash the parts that are 60% or higher so that you can put them into a gun and them use cleaning kits to repair them?

Like, you CAN use repair kits to just magic up a full durability part but it's generally better to just replace it with a part that's 60%+ and use a vice to swap the barrel and other parts out (other parts can be hotswapped without a vice but doing it all at once is faster)

I do agree there have been a lot of changes. Artefacts don't irradiate you any more, and thus LLCs have been removed. Weapon condition is gone and only parts matter now. New level of PDA. Just off the top of my head.
