I liked the introduction of warfare/control zone mode but it was like some early game testing of concept in CS so you can forget about it after Swamps. And in the end the A-Life is enough to make zone dynamic without fights over zones.

If your Scavenging skill level is too low, items have a chance to despawn from the bodies you loot:
- Nosorog exoskeletons (85%)
- Cz-M10 Spartan helmets (50%)
- other items except weapons and armor (0.25-4%)
To avoid the despawn your Scavenging skill has to be level 17 or higher.
Additionally, in order to loot an outfit or a helmet from a body a certain rank value is required. The requirement is almost negligible, rank value as small as 7000 is enough to meet a rank requirement for any equipment.

but i don't think it reduces the actual hitpoint dmg those shots deal, and headshots to the player both deal more damage, and the head is typically less armored b/c helmets tend to have lower ballistic res
that's the sad part, could've worn a redline jacket, get health gated and get the same result

i think probability-based "chance for part to degrade" is awful compared to "part degrades by fixed amount per shot"
even if the "fixed amount per shot" might be a nonlinear curve if we wanna get fancy
e.g. you could imagine a system where every shot degrades gun part by, say, 0.01% but once the average of all parts drops below some threshold, it degrades by 0.015%, and so on, so lower average gun part condition = faster rate of wear
but making the system revolve around probability means a highly unpredictable rate of wear, which i do not like when the thing you are modelling is mechanical wear and tear aka "system that is designed to make players invest resources to avoid a negative gameplay outcome"
however for an "unexpected" gameplay event that you have to react to, like weapon jams? hell yeah probabilistic modelling works great

basically, to me, i want the gun degradation system to be:
- roughly predictable, even if you aren't pinpoint accurate (e.g. "i know that after a firefight i lose about X%, so I should fix my gun now")
- roughly consistent across guns of the same "class"
- see i think that reliability stat should be considered but that you pick a calculated "the default gun should go from 100% to the repair threshold in X number of shots" and adjust all guns up and down from there, with reliability stat as a modifier on the curve of degradation per shot
i have not yet done the whole planning doc song and dance that i did for tougher gun repair but yeah i just. really do not like "if gun is high condition you have a 2.8/10000 chance for a part to degrade per shot" or whatever the fuck
also because if you modify off a standard curve, you can in fact communicate this to players as a straightforward %
you could even call it... "reliability"

I don't know if there's a good solution for pistols
they have low damage but can't shoot as much as smgs
i mean i frankly think that's dumb and IMO pistols should have slightly higher base dmg than their equivalent-caliber smgs to compensate, but I'm not doing weapon balancing i guess
at least they should maybe have some other perk aside from "you can have it as your third gun"

so a gun w/ 5 parts, each shot takes cond_shot_dec * 0.2 dmg and a gun w/ 3 parts takes cond_shot_dec * 0.33

versus "any part can take damage, but to make it not dogshit, you want to e.g. exclude a part from the pool if it's >X% or has been damaged twice already or is the lowest % out of all the parts or..."

i wrote that only cuz i had weapon with 88%+ parts go to 88%+ and one at 63% in the span of 20 shots xD
well yeah, currently damage is random, so you can go under 60% in just 4 shots
or another time when i decided that 81% part doesnt need cleaning and it gone below 60 very quick
