you make them tankier and it's boring because they're too tanky
you make the player move slower so that he's more exposed to their attacks and it's boring because you move like a snail
cant really make everyone happy when it comes to that
you make them spawn in comically large groups and it's boring because it's low brow shock value that's tiresome after the second time you come across it

to be honest i wouldn't mind more monsters problem is getting stalker accurate ones that don't tank the game in itself
for example i had a 12g saiga with slugs shot a phygaint with 2 mags (24) slugs and still died
like sure the controller is a canvas for improvements due to the monster's basic design

but what do you do about literally everything else that's just a melee thing
fractures were made lightspeed fast and it not only looks terrible but it also feels terrible due to their attacks fully stunning you for like an entire second

they tried making them tougher so that they pose more of a threat

I would take away the "Warning growl" from the game, adding more moves to the mutants like strafing on Chimeras and making them more like in the OG series, and lower their health a little, slow them down a little, and make the chimeras and pseudogiants actually rare AF, and spawn in single units, same with controllers and most bloodsuckers. The only time bloodsuckers wouln't be alone is if you find a nest in like underground or something. Make the snorks plentiful, same with cats and dogs, so it doesn't feel like they're small packs since those "Wouldn't" make it, psy dogs are always alone or in pairs. Tushkanos are always in hordes, and that is probably pretty much all of the changes. OH AND MAKE THEM EAT THEIR PRAY AGAIN INSTEAD OF RUNNNING OFF THE CORPSE
The main strat against 80% of mutants is the chimera strat

the issue with making monsters rare is that you can not do that in gamma

funny enough as I typed that msg in, in-game Lukash sent out invite for defending barriers from monolith, it was fun to test my latest gear.....and I came across some new weapons too (I recently added FWP, doe I am not sure if all of em are from FWP)
are these shotguns good? rate of fire wise? is the reload time as bad as the protecta ?
They're equivalent to the RAPTR, which is one of the best 12 gauge shotguns in the game. Dunno how rare the AA-12s are but Frosty balanced them to be similar. The reload also isn't as bad cuz it's mag fed, nothing will be as bad as the Protecta lmao
the 20 gauge shotguns

The 20 Gauges are actually pretty damn good. They're really accurate, you'd be surprised at how many people stan the TOZ-106 (myself included)
They're actually somewhat "realistic" at how tight their pellet spread is, you can snipe bandits from a reasonable distance that a 12x70 would never hit
also is the G36K better than the various M4s recoil wise? I remember some old YT guide saying that it has basically no recoil
"reasonable distance" to me is when i pull the slugs out or just switch to pistol 
plus, shotguns to me be for mutant clearing, 20 gauge just didnt feel that good against mutants
unless theres gonna be a way to dispense 20 gauge but fully automatic soon

This is pretty good performance for a shotgun with a PU scope
I'm doing testing rn and the TOZ feels much more accurate than a Mossberg with an ACOG and slugs

yeah the amount of goodwill you get varies pretty drastically
if you're not in a faction hub, bad luck can make it take forever to gain it. you can be stuck turning in plastic jars and killing boars for 10 each
or you'll get lucky with some clear area and missing squad quests and get it done in an hour

The same can be said for the loadout change suggestion. If most NPCs have common variants of rifles, it'd make getting up north more exciting. A lot of people get bored after BS cuz there's not much else to do. Having Nimble be able to upgrade their favorite M4 or AK74 into a PMC or Protector might make the gameplay loop more refreshing for the north. We can also keep his uniques as is

Mod Config Menu -> Free Zoom -> set ADS multiplier to 1
Remove FOV change on equipping pistols:
Mod Config Menu -> Free Zoom -> set pistol multiplier to 1
Sidenote: Check your HUD and HUD FOV sliders in Settings>Visual>Basic and set them back to default if Free Zoom messed them up.
Default values are as follows:
FOV: 80
HUD FOV: 0.65

I had dropped off Freezoom on my earlier playthroughs, but god damn that's some hot shit now that it's toggleable and doesn't fuck up the FOV too often. I actually like it with sights like the EKP with tiny dots, allowing me to utilize red dots at mid-range even

Spent like twenty minutes searching the bunker for this bastard only to realize one of the Sid controllers had wandered outside an out of the area
So I had to go hunt it down and kill it
Man. I love big and long battles in Stalker. Really a good test to my skill, companions preparation and resourcefulness. I had one time lately right before the MS war in Limansk while I was travelling to AW for the day before the offensive. I got stuck by the concrete bath anomaly and fought off squad after squad after squad. Like 5 squads of Sin, 2 squads of Monos, 3 squads of zombified 2 or 3 squads of Mercs, a squad of Renegades and a Squad of Military. All coming in at different times with different numbers with me holed up at the end at the little building behind the gate on the ramp to resupply and organize my stuff with hostiles outside the window, 5 meters from me military squad was engaging sinners, unaware I was there and after they wiped them out another squad of Mercs wiped them out. If not for the corpse limit we'd need at least 3 or 4 deathtrucks xD
