Reshade isn't working for me. Everything i launch gamma with the dx11 or the dx11avx install of reshade(with add on support) my game doesn't launch and the error noise pops up (also off of a fresh install of gamma v0.9.3). Can someone help me out?

real reasons:

1. reshade is tied to a system-specific performance loss depending on many factors but mostly on gpu usage and the amount/configuration of shaders used, it eats performance even if no shaders are loaded in the overlay, because the software itself is still running (perf loss for using reshade is anywhere between 2-15 frames usually

2. sss22 comes with a lut module (color grading) thus using reshade simply and only for grading itself is obsolete because as i said before it costs perf, sss based luts dont cost anything to run ALTHOUGH to actually generate the lut table for use in sss - reshade is the best way of doing it

3. sss23 ea comes with decently implemented taa, which is FAR superior to any form of antialias available in reshade, at the same time sss23 taa has almost no performance cost

these combined already cross out the use of reshade for most users because color grading as well as antialiasing (2 most imporant features) are solved via sss

mid ass cope reasons:

1. in order to use reshade you kinda have to understand how it works and what shaders do, knowing how critical the level of reading comprehension is on this server - having to learn how to use it crosses it out for some

2. "reshade looks bad" some have an image in their head implying that use of reshade is tied to a badly contrasted, fried looking image - which is totally irrelevant and tied only to specific presets made by people who have either a bad taste or lack the skill to make a decent preset

3. its another thing that you have to install, at the same time its not a fomod install so uhhh i guess with all the factors combined this is just too much stuff to do for some(especially when grading and aa is covered via mods)

personally in sss i have everything on ultra/high settings, use 4096 shadows, have hunter reshade but i modded it, removed alot of his stuff and tweaked to my likings(i know that tech little stuff so its not problem for me) and for aa i just put resolution on 4k and in amd downscale it to 1080p monitor i use. and plus i override some game settings with amd overrides. plus ato5 and grass and trees textures on top of gamma
with all that i get 140fps/120ish99th%

Basically what everyone uses, just switch ato for rotten if you want that instead. If you want snow go for inverno, if you want light snow go for late fall, I don’t really recommend atmos 2.67 especially on my new monitor so go for melancholy and try that. You can try atmos 2.68 when ever sss 23 releases.

Go in this folder: Anomaly\appdata, you'll find a folder called shaders_cache, delete this folder and launch the game normally from MO2, using your preferred DX.

How to properly perform a clean install/update of reshade 6.5.0+

This will break old reshade presets

1. Head into C:\ANOMALY\bin and delete the files that I highlighted on the screenshot

2. Go to https://reshade.me/ and download the software

3. While installing, select the anomalydxsomething.exe that youre using either dx8/9/11 in c:/anomaly/bin

4. Tick all boxes when choosing the shaders to install

A realistic image is subjective. Everyone thinks differently of it. Some peolle think having kepler 668b twin white dwarf star in their game, with a blowed up white sky and bloom means "realistic".
others live in a cave in old pangea, so they think having dark as fuck 90% black vignette corners and astigmatism blurry far vision is realistic. Others think having no color or fried colors is realistic.

The best way would be to try every single reshade preset you can from the pinned database in this channel. If no one of those presets suit you, then i can assure you you wont find any reshade preset that is realistic. It's just filters on top of a raw image. And that raw image, (non reshade stalker, that is) is what you need to tweak. And the way to tweak is with better textures, better grass and grass settings, better weather (is the most important tbh i figured out after using pipniks melancholy weathers. Once you try it you cant go back). Things like that.
