I play vannila anomaly and installed Expedition modpack. the thing is the game behaves weird. even before the mod. sometimes its using 60 percet of resources and giving me really high frames and sometimes its using 100 percent and giving me 60 to 70 fps on a 5600xt(2060 equivalent)
any help why this happns
a game like stalker shouldnt take this much resource can it?

Here's my bin folder. I used aggressor for just the reshade.ini, dxgi.dll, and d3d9.dll. My reshade itself is in the reshade presets folder.
I used aggressor because I was having issues with ssdo in the updated version of reshade. You can disable it if you want reshade up to date, because the setting is very subtle

I am using CS Eden's Autumn Harmony for the textures as well
I was trying it. Its very nice. My only suggestion is keeping the colour_grading on vanilla, other wise it looks a bit too "Blue" on cool but its personal preference.

Just download and move all the files into the bin folder. Im not sure how much of fps loss there is but its very minimal I think

At this point just start from scratch, that's the equivalent of trying to make the water not wet
yea honestly i've worked on reshade presets in the past, it would probably be better to just start from scratch
i've already gone too far deep to back out now though
This kind of reasoning isn't worth it when working on Reshade, especially when it's a dead end
I actually spend about 3-4 weeks on mine xD
And even then, it's quite demanding performance wise
kinda testing the waters rn with agressor
i'll probably start working on an independent reshade later on
To be honest, Agressor isn't bad per say, but it lacks consistency and so do many reshade presets out there, they usually break with a type of weathers or at night, people are way too focus on getting the juicy "Stalker 2 Ultra Graphics 2023 sunshine shots"
I played with your preset and honestly it is the most consistent one I've found tbh
a lot of other presets tend to lean heavily into one direction which tends to cause the inconsistency
Thanks, I just need some more tweaks for performances, but I kept all weathers in mind for tweaking my preset (except misery weathers because they're way too inconsistent themselves)
They usually make clear sunny weathers shots look amazing but the rest looks bad or bleh at the very least
Not even mentionning any Stalker UI destruction
that's likely because of the heavy reliance on bloom effects
once night hits its almost always impossible to see, or lit areas glow when contrasting against the night

Yeah, they tend to think bloom = good graphics, it does look great with the right amount, but overdone, it's blinding
What I hate the most is overluminous sky contrasting with complete darkness on the ground
I made sure that my nights are realistically dark with reasonable lighting (unless it's a moonless night)

Is the aggresor reshade enabled as long as its selected in the mod manager or does anything need to be done in the ingame menu
It only comes with terrain textures by default, you have to reinstall it for the rest of the stuff
finished a complete fresh instal so Now i have the correct setup for gamma, honestly I may have missed something since im runnin on that 3 am fuel but I cant seem to be able to pull up reshade with home.

drag & drop .dll files from gamma bin folder to your anomaly bin folder then overwrite with your reshade and delete shader cache folder before launching

i was thinking of trying a reshade but i wonder if they tank your fps and or performance?
I just run with Bloom + Ambient Light, and then a LUT to make shadows blue
if you've no frames to spare, your best option is tweaking shader_params
A good Reshade preset can feel VERY great to play with though

You HAVE to use the weather it comes with, it's VERY specific what light and sun settings you use (edit: other weather mods might appear too dark)

The current version of agressor from moddb at least doesn't have that bloom and adaptation memes going on anymore

The MO2 installation only has textures, either reinstall that or get the newest version from moddb

installing mods at 3am challenge

I installed the golden autumn redux from the #custom-textures channel and my average fps almost doubled. Is this because I deleted my shader cache after installing and before running the game? Or is this because that pack is just lighter? Should I be deleting my shader cache periodically?
I even bumped up my grass settings and a few others that people have said are pretty taxing.. still getting much higher fps
can someone post me theyre bin file with shaders ? i have no idea how to make it look better 😄

Golden Autumn gets rid of the vanilla grass which is what tanks everyones FPS and replaces it with much nicer, much cleaner grass that doesn't tank your FPS. easily one of the best mods ever created

Vanilla grass you mean > Gardener of the zone? (default grass for G.A.M.M.A) cuz' afaik all other grasses from autumn season, golden, desaturate autumn, etc is a recolored version of Vanilla (anomaly) grass. Correct me if I'm wrong

If brightness and contrast adjustments are complicated, then I suggest not to mess with Reshade at all

I don't think it's a simple recolor honestly, and they are far better optimised as well

I deleted the weather part of your pack and tried to load like that, crashed. Then disabled and crashed again. I might have to turn some gamma vanilla mods back on

Then delete the sky db file, any anamflares folder in textures, and delete the weathers files in configs

Autumn Harmony has textures_sky.db0 file in the db folder, same as base anomaly
The newest agressor wasn't too too bad to be honest, just a pain in the butt to install
When I say newest, it hasn't been updated since 2021
Db files are meant to take priority over simple textures files
Because the first thing you literally find when typing "Stalker Anomaly Ultra Graphics" is a video WITH Agressor Reshade, I'm not even joking, literal first result on YouTube by Dario Adjucic
In fact, all the videos suggested after typing that are from the same guy with different settings but still with Agressor Reshade each time
To add more, it's crazy fluid since it's base Anomaly with only a few mods, so people would probably think it's good for performances as well, especially compared to my reshade which takes more performances
...Default Gamma looks good. About the only issue I have is someone with enough time and patience on their hands needs to rework specular textures to work with new shaders. Fix the wet fingers issue.

Having filtered through the suits, it's definitely tied to actual specular textures, your best bet is to compare and contrast what the shader mod did to flip the settings on their head.
It might be a long undertaking to fix all the hand models by themselves, but guns need it too like the desert eagle.
To be fair I'd rather use my own work Reshade wise, maybe not *natural vision" but most would break apart here and there depending on weather and time of the day
It's mostly tied to enhanced shaders' pbr settings, but SSS might have a part in it too
Shiniest example I found is Sunrise, buggiest example would be the clear sky CS2 starter, dullest example would be SEVA suits. In regards to guns, SKS tactical probably has the best visual setup in regards to specular textures
Having futsed around with them you have to dig into actual textures
There's no other fix
The other option will mess up guns/suits that were properly set up with this or look good
Good luck in your endeavour, but i don't think that tweaking pbr will do anything. Current settings are solid but now you essentially need the textures to adhere to a better or at least unified standard. I'm unable to dig into actual textures or else I'd help out already

See, the problem is that there are weapons that look, frankly, perfect with existing settings, it's what screws with me
They state that gloss_factor should never be anything else than 0.001 and gloss_min should be adjusted instead
There are min and max settings to prevent some textures going crazy
I will change the actual pbr code if I have to 
I'm not gonna go and edit all the textures
Gamma defaults are the exact opposite
Grok did change the shaders settings to match these though

With hemi above 0.7 suits have that fake Vaseline gloss on the edges
Damn shame cause high hemi was my best hope at making shadows during noon look natural
Could you kindly test these shaders? This should fix the glossy hands and bring out much more detail to a lot of textures including ground and guns. Just place it right after/under Shaders cumulative pack for GAMMA (no need to disable any of the shader mods, this ugly patch overwrites everything). Important: use gloss_factor 0.001 and gloss_min 0.5 and delete shader cache. Edit: removed the download.
As for CS2 body armor the bug is some weird texture glitch that plagued some weapons @wet violet managed to fix: #🖇old-mods-posting message
Maybe he could share the knowledge how to fix the yellow glow against light sources

I'll give it a test in an hour or so and respond with feedback

Hey, thank you because I've been dreading using sunrise series suits because it felt like I was constantly going around after a rain.
I need to first make sure this doesn't mess up something royally, there has to be reason Grok touched a lot of these values with such a harsh hand
also I think I need to adjust the water puddles now, the gloss doesn't work too well with them
for now I'll restore values to Groks and wait for your tweaked shaders release then. 
I also feel like minimal value sits better at 0.6
gives a soft rimlighting-esque effect (source term, used to it)

they are not reshade shaders, these are game shaders so will work regardless which reshade you use.

I'm going to test the shaders too! I'm about to do a texture testing with the weapon, I think this shader tweaked coupled with some texture tweaking would bring a lot of detail
The issue right now is most of the weapons don't have enough contrast or information on the glossiness map

I think there's a point where there's too much detail
Like when your sharpness is too high, you know
It feels wrong because sometimes more is less

It's more about how the detail interact with the engine lighting, the amount of detail is definitely is a matter of personal preference but the texture thing is more of a technical matter, if you don't have the textures properly set up there's nothing you can do

The guns just straight up have incorrect lighting on them

Yeah those are all separated so it's a bit different from Eden's instructions, Eden kindly packed all those files into one file

Ayyy I'm gonna try this out for nostalgia, I remember how back in the day I thought the first Expedition was the pinnacle of stalker graphics 
Reduced contrast in my reshade to make it not look so dark during storms. Also, before the shadows were way to dark in clear weather at noon. The first picture is after the fix

i'll give a couple of suggestions if its helpful, first I think you need uimask or something cause text (and especially items in inventory) is a little bit blurred or weird looking with all the bloom and stuff and then grainspread.fx gets a failed to compile error for me
The main issue with shaders is, you set parameters for one thing, it looks nice, but you fuck 80% of the other textures

edit: had messed up setting in previous post
dof on iron sights(also effects gun at hip, though less) but blurs pda a bit, doesnt mess with scopes or binocs though, have no workaround, turn of dof if you dont want it or set up a second duplicate reshade without dof, make the hotkey in reshade options and tap it when you use pda
put in game ssao to ssao(do not use hbao or hdao, they ruin frames and prevent this from being able to run on 3060ti)

So for future reference -
If you don't have a 'HOME' button on your keyboard (ie. Using a 90%, TKL, 75%, 70%, 60%, etc) and you need to change your keybind, you can do so pretty easily.
In the 'anomaly/bin' folder, there is a file called ReShade.ini
Open that up and locate the section labeled [INPUT]
Look for the KeyOverlay=36,0,0,0
This is the required keycode for the Home button.
Go to keycode.info/ if you want to get the keycode for a specific text input.
Shift+F2 is 113,0,1
I use num subtract, which would be 109,0,0,0
EDIT: As a preemptive explanation -
The four numbers in the keycode serve different purposes.
The first number is your given keycode (ie. 36 = home, 113 =F2)
The next three are modifiers in this order: ctrl, shift, alt
So if you want the keybind to be, say, SHIFT+L it would be 76,0,1,0
ALT+SHIFT+F12 = 123,0,1,1

You can also bind keys to toggle single (or multiple) effects. For example for rtgi effect slap KeyRTGlobalIllumination@qUINT_rtgi.fx=46,0,0,0 in the beginning of your effect ini file to toggle it with delete key

But there’s the remaining issue which I never mentioned of nights basically being very visible, not bright but like everything is outlined
I had an issue where because my shadows were tinted blue the entire gun became blue if you looked up on some weathers, it fixed it for me mostly

There are r2_sunshafts_value and r2_sunshafts_min console commands, but other than that you'd have to tackle the weather configurations directly if you wanna keep on using volumetric with less intensity

gun is an afterthought for me atm. im trying to make shadows brighter and make the colours less washed out without shitting on everything else in the process
closest i got was this (14:15, clear_1 gamma weather), but there's still plenty thats wrong with it
shader_param_2 is good for making shadows brighter 
speaking of that one, have you noticed different nooks and crannies in guns having unrealistic pop to them when its dark at y values in x, x, x, y below 0.04

- how compatible is it with the gamma basic version so with the 336 mods, im trying to find a good looking setup at the moment
Expedition has some good shaders but honestly it doesn't hold a candle to GAMMA or EFP in terms of gameplay, it's basically Anomaly with a few tweaks, most of it is the graphic part
