you are using a weapon with a broken barrel and a weapon shooting ammo that has no AP power at all
the one in the pic has no head gear and dont die to headshoots with both guns
#📢announcements has the damage reduction on barrels chart. high rank stalkers have more HP so he is probably tanking your shots, try to use a gun that shoots something like slugs or 556FMJ instead and make sure its repaired

what is the best handgun? korth 6?
depends on what you want to use it for, korth 4 and 6 are really good mutant killers (also other 45 with hydrashock or 357 like the deagle) if you want it for all purpose close range use 9x19 (some pistols have full auto or 3 round burst upgrades) and if you want it for stalkers use 9x21 or 5.7 which you can use the p90 or mp7 in the handgun slot
everything that shoots 9mm is arguably the best along with all the other handguns that dont shoot .45acp that one is reserved for mutants
.45ACP is good against unarmoured targets.
but that is very specific, its better and cheaper to use 9x18 or 9x19

Looking for some direction for a Mercenary playthrough. Seems to be that all the areas around dead city have deadly radiation that becomes problematic. Just need a nudge in the right direction so I can get on the grind, where to start etc.

try checking the in-game manual in the pda. always start with the starting gasmask and start doing missions and making money, if you start north go a bit further south to be able to survive the radiation better until you get a better gasmask and get it repaired. meds and smokes are very useful against rads so keep those close
thats my problem with 45 too , I like the guns a lot but... its sort of easier to just use hp rounds of a gun that has access to AP and can quickly swap it , and if you want to make use of better flesh dmg , you would simply use an auto rifle with hp
What's the best starting location since I'm starting a new game?
as a merc? dead city is the best place
i have done my last merc run there and the starting conditions couldnt be better for a merc, army warehouses close with good chances for advanced toolkits and access to good loot from monolith and duty. going south through the new(safe) transition to yantar to get started with ecologists missions and then heading further south to swamp to meet the doc and clear sky

personally yes. for the first 3 days you can go south and do missions and then go back to dead city
I've only played CoP, not sure where to find the doc and clear sky. Ecologists should be easy enough.
you can talk to the faction's leader to get the missions markers, he will tell you where the doc is

Your eyes and ears.
The only detector that'll stop you from walking into an anomaly is the Svarog, but that requires Expert Tools
Your best detector until then, as Aldo said, are your eyes and ears
If you're in a known anomalous zone, take it slow and try not to rush
And if you're in Red Forest where there's a ton of anomalies and you find a group of rock lickers, then there's no shame in running away
Resist the urge to constantly run around like a headless chicken, got it.
In that case you'd have to tape down the Ctrl-key at all times.

The only thing that has something specific to them are obviously exoskeleton frames

I’m not on my pc right now but I repaired my seva suit and I’m missing one material to get it to 100% but haven’t another one during my playthrough so far

You don't have to get every part to 100% if that's what you're doing to get them repaired
Get to the breakpoints of 65%, 75% or 85% respectively and use a heavy, medium, or basic sewing kit
you can use the repair kit or sewing kits if the armor is already above 50%

Right now I find it is way too overtuned, killing me in 1 minute at about 1/3rd of the radiation bar just by walking around cordon with a gas mask. The Monolith use AP in there and you're basically naked unless you have an armor with a decent BR class

Considering the progression of gamma, doing ironman runs over and over will make you miss out a lot of the content

for example agroprom is really dangerous for loner entrance from garbage. I die there everytime from enemy attack on the left hill at the entrance. Dont know if it is military, bandit or mercenary

I wouldn't go there unless you can't help it and if you do, avoid the south-west area

IIRC you need to use a cleaning kit of some sort

Nope, it's disabled by default because there is a little "immersion breaking" bug, basically you can teleport to yourself "rescue mission targets" without even talking to them, you just need to be in the same map

A safe method would be to load an early save where you know for sure he's alive
never met him, no idea when he died or where he is even supposed to be

i try to sleep for 5-8 hours and always end up sleeping for 10+ hours

A bed roll helps to sleep better, I suggest to get that and one sleeping bag

no. advanced tools is craftable because it unlocks a huge amount of progression and sometimes its hard to find because of RNG

only perk based artefacts (junk) degrade and they only degrade when equipped

all radioactive artefacts are supposed to spawn on low condition and you can empower them(repair) with an artefact melter

That kind of issue is related usually to weird ammo loaded in NPC guns

It's really hard to debug. You can try F7 Menu > Remove random Stalker squads. This will "empty" the zone a little bit and it should fix your problem. After a few days the zone should be filled by stalkers again and no more crash

There is a setting called "Power" or "Hit Modifier" in the Vanilla settings, that increases the damage dealt by you. You can try that

Gun with bad barrel, you have to fix it first. Also, buckshot does almost no damage against stalkers. Maybe a Bandit but Mercs wont get damaged byit
Aim for the legs or the eyes, as those spots specifically have a lower armor value than other body parts

Hi everyone! I have a small problem with the BaS laser sights - I can't seem to see the laser dot whenever i'm using the NVGs - but I can see them just fine when I'm not using them. This is a little bit of a problem for me as I'm trying to only use laser sights when I'm using NVGs as one would in real life. I've only tested this with the gen 3 NVGs.
I also prefer the ?vanilla? BaS red laser sight as it is larger, but disabling the CLAD Laser sight mod doesn't seem to revert it back to the default. Could someone help me with this? I have a (mostly) fresh install. Didn't mess with any reshades.
As y'all can see, I can only see the laser sight with NVGs if I'm standing right against a wall.

yeah that's what i was talking about. the C.L.A.D laser isn't that much better for me tho - it stays small right until you stand right against a wall and its suddenly huge. at least the default laser is consistently useable

you have to enable mag redux for the ammo check. it's an optional mod by default. keep in mind this'll mean you will have to use the magazine system tho.

So I just got the artefacts for Hip’s quest and after turning them to Sid I have 2 choices. Go to Barkeep (a deal Sidorovich got for her) or go to Lukash (medicine delivery to Yanov). sorry i couldnt reply to your question, i know that mo2 needs a zip file format to install a mod but i think there is another way when its just a script
doing quests and looting dead bodies gives you stash locations but they are random and can be anywhere so sometimes you will have to do multiple quests to get stashes somewhere near your location or take the risks and go to where they already are
you can read them for stashes, pay a technician to unlock the locked ones and then sell them to a trader or an info trader

The knives only affect them in terms of what you can carve
I.E can't skin a chimera 'till you get a hunting knife
hunting backpack gives more parts and speeds up the "animation". knives are only for skinning higher tier mutants and having higher durability and damage

i have a stash with a lot of poor condition armors and wpns, already stripped of useful parts
you can disassemble them and sell the parts to mechanics, they buy parts unless they are 0% condition. as for editing that i think its in the gamma economy addon

There's no underspace for the piano to fit any kind of container, and as far as roof access goes theres only the one stash on the roof by the crane, there is no stash i saw on the other side of the roof. Unless you're talking about the very top which im unsure is accessable
Bad weight management, never keep guns you don't want to repair
they are stashed, so that's isn't a problem really

Verified it is the updated particle file causing the issue, works flawlessly otherwise. With my little knowledge, I think it might be the fact that there are new particles incorporated in the time that has passed since the file was uploaded. It does work otherwise, just not at the moment of damage via Anomaly.
Any suggestions? I do enjoy the effects of the other anomalies, just not the ones the file was meant to address. (Linked to the purpose of the file.)

I can't really help you beyond what I've said, they really are quite hidden and it definitely can take a while for some of them
The only thing I can suggest is hope you find a Lamp artifact, because that'll light up the stash and tell you where it is

I don't think there's a particular spot that the UNISG spawn, I've found them from Dark Valley, Outskirts, and even Dead City sometimes
