quite safe, I have personally not had many issues with it. There has been the occasional breaking change but that generally just requires unticking a single addon or something to play the old save
The top troubleshoot tip if you update and get issues with your save is delete /mods folder -> udpate data + complete install from the installer to make sure you have the latest everything and check #│🔧troubleshooting or #📢announcements if something was mentioned about old saves if its still not resolved

its a bit hard to know compared to wabbajack modlists because gamma doesnt use a version system
is there a console command or something to set specific time of day? debug menu "sleep" option won't work if you aren't tired with immersive sleep

You have to play with dynamic tonemap values in mcm, it control lumscale etc if I remember correctly

Had this same issue, crashes when I uncheck its box, runs fine if it’s checked and just turn off animations in the MCM in the menu options though. Sometimes it just feels like wild magic.

Personal recommendation is Trader destockifier, but that's just me being a sadist when it comes to difficulty. It basically lets you strip traders from being legal cheats
So do they just restock weekly or never?
I do like having to do most things myself, idk if i could handle if they never restocked.
When ever you set them to, it just lets you reduce the count for certain item types they have

White is a 'normal' stash with a low chance to contain a toolkit.
Green is guaranteed to contain a toolkit and other random items of better quality.

With a 5800x you should worry about your ram speed and untick core 0 in administrator, that cpu should do more than 40 fps
Im on a 1080ti i7 4790k 4,6ghz and play 80+ fps on 1080p with reshade active (and its a heavy one not the one that comes with gamma) and custom user.ltx mostly all ultra so something is wrong on your end

I think I read somewhere that core 0 is mostly used by other programs in parallel so disabling it can only help anyway 👍
I'm running 120 FPS with the reshade in 2K, for dense particles areas (Yantar toxic swamp) I have like 70 - 80 FPS. In Rostok in depends on the angles, usually I have 70 FPS but in some specific parts of the map under certain angles I drop at 40 FPS

make sure you deleted everything from the old gamma folder and only moved your downloads folder from it

also you might want to move user ltx from gammaRC3/grok's modpack installer/gamma/modpack patches to your anomaly/appdata to get the standard gamma visual settings (unless ofc you changed things yourself and want to keep them)

i did that, opened the launcher through mo2, but it just crashed and i figured it wasnt the proper way of doing it
just crashed ? crash log? also make sure you are following the instructions correctly, should be a pinned message here on how to enable debug as well
i might have fucked up in the installing process, i don't know. when opening any of the .exe's (including the launcher) from the anomaly folder, it just loads up regular anomaly, without any mods. but when i boot up the game via mo2 it works just fine

Open the Launcher from your Anomaly folder, not MO2.
Tick the Debug box, launch the game from the launcher, exit when you get to main menu.
Open MO2, run Anomaly with DX11-AVX, play as normal. @north turret

the binary and start in might be messed up now that i look at it? one should be set to c:\anomaly\bin and the other one set to \bin\ .exe, right? thing is,my binary is set to C: and my start in is set to D:, it works just fine and i can play the game, but if i switch the binary to D as well it doesn't work. my gamma install is in D, and my new download of anomaly is also in D, the one in C is an old one.
So you have two Anomaly folders.
You've linked MO2 to C:, but the start .exe from D:? 
Also, don't use all upper-case just because you're frustrated.
Check your paths (🟢) and executables (🔴) :
if both are set to c it doesn't even open the game, if both are set to d it crashes. i'll try to solve it later, gtg now but i think i might know where i fucked up now, thanks.

Those are "masking filters".
They remove effects from reshade which could've been applied to UI elements.

you need the repair kit, tool set and the upgrade material (actually nvm Im not sure if u need the repair kit)
Okay, it doesn't say what tool set specifically. I'm using the drug-making kit to access the menu.
You need to open the toolkit, select the gun and the upgrade
When you choose the upgrade, it should tell you what you need, basic/advanced/expert (iirc)
If you can't, it should tell you something like "you can't upgrade this weapon because you're missing this thing"
For the upgrade (iirc again) if it is something that needs the advanced tools, you also need the basic and, obviously, the actual upgrade you want to use
For upgrading, the corresponding repair kit to install the upgrade does get used up every upgrade installed
So bear that in mind

Ok, Artifact Hunters has crapped out for me. Did all of them including Yanov in Jupiter. He tries to send me to Prof vorobushkin who allegedly is in Zaton. However, the mission immediately failed. I went to Zaton where he "should" be, and aside from dying instantly now due to insane radiation, he wasn't there.
Is there a way to respawn him via debug or console? In which case does anyone know the ID (for debug) or the command in console?
loners can spawn in agroprom, i'm pretty sure. there's like three possible spawns if i'm not mistaken. you might have not changed the "random location" thing in the new game screen?

There's a way to respawn quest NPCs as I know there was a post made about it SOMEWHERE because gatekeeper kept dying for some players and it made the main anomaly quest unfinishable. I don't have time to search it now but maybe look around for that and you'll get your answer.

So, I found variants of an SKS, an old one, and a newer one, they take the same parts, but I'm not sure how I go about swapping the barrels on them? There is no option for me to pull the barrel off of either of them.

think you need a multitool or one of the big kits
I have a multitool, but still no option to remove the barrel. I had the appropriate toolkit to replace all the parts on via workbench, but it wouldn't let me remove the barrel from either of them to swap to the other, other parts were fine as they could be removed via "field stripping" them.
Only way I could do it was via Dissassembling one of them, and getting the barrel that way, which worked.
i'm getting quite high average fps in gamma, higher than in vanilla anomaly (...that game needs lots of reshade to look good), but holyshit i'm having a LOT of stutters, and that never happened to me in anomaly. does anyone have any idea what could be causing that? the stutters seem random and not necessarily related to npcs spawning or whatever.
In GAMMA, they make a weapon overheat faster, which afaik just causes faster part degradation while overheated. I personally haven't used suppressors much in this mod, so someone else may know more; but they basically seem to be balanced so you'd want one on a rifle for taking potshots while sneaking around an enemy base, but NOT want one on an smg you use for mag-dumping into hordes of mutants.
I had to install it on my c drive to fix this issue, maybe that'll work for you?
The 'overheating' thing may or may not also directly affect jam chance; someone who knows would have to answer that.
Obviously IRL suppressors will overheat / wear down and need to be refurbished, but they don't degrade in GAMMA'
when playing with Mags Redux, What supply level/trader do I need to buy the standard SKS mags? Right now I'm at supply level 4 with Sidorovich, but he doesn't sell me any SKS mags... I can buy Quad stack AK mags, SVD mags, etc. but no SKS mags? seems broken... or maybe I'm just stupid and I'm missing something.

Whats the reasoning behind broken weapons on stalkers i have defeated? I mean all of them are around 20% and the npc have no issues using them. I find it a little unrealistic that npc stalker weapon loot is in such a bad condition.

Did you disable the "pretty pistols" pack? if youre updating your pack from RC1-2 to RC3, the Pretty Pistols pack crashes old saves, so you gotta disable it. Pretty pistols is mod #91.
Try it either way, it might fix it. and it only takes a split second to do. Open the MO2 link, (the green gamma icon), click on "Gunplay" untick "pretty pistols pack", try loading save.
worst case scenario it doesn't fix and you can re-enable Pretty pistols pack. or it does fix it, and you're good to go.

you can find a setting in i think gameplay difficulty and if not there progression difficulty - how ever it will most likely have no effect (if not fucking your invictus run over) since i think its already set to 50kg (max) and the skill system "unlocks" more and more of that over time
but you always can go for a bigger backpack and use them together with loadbearing suits/Protoexos (Normal exos are ususally to heavy on them self) to haul stuff, together with some Goldfish artifacts (23kg+ if memory serves right)

but I just found a molot one and swapped to it from my old standard SKS since the molot one can actually use scopes aside from the PU scope, + I can get the nice 20 rounds in it from mags rather than being forced to run 10 rounds internal.
well F then, i wasnt playing with mags for a while now - but SKS is WS-Pact and you should find mags for it at the trades who have that stock (Army, Duty, Sid (at times))

Thinking on it, I am inclined to suspect he might have died during operation afterglow, as that outpost is the scene of a lengthy firefight between my "team" and Unisyg up there. If he does indeed loiter in the top floor of the building I have seen him in YT vids, then he is right where a firefight takes place.
Petrenko in Rostock sells some at Suply lvl 1 or 2, i am pretty sure. Also, the trader inventory for mags is pretty bad, you are better off finding them on dead stalkers or unloading them from weapons. I sometimes just spawn in 3-4 mags via debug, if I really cant find any
Trader Overhaul greatly increases the availabilty of mags at traders though, your call if you want to use it

trader overhaul by itself allows you to buy armor and guns so it takes from the intended gamma experience

Relating to my earlier issue with Vorobushkin. I wanted to update anyone else with the problem. I almost have it fixed. I can respawn him, and assign the logic to him etc, I can also remove him from being dead. He appears to respawn with the map. However, the previous part of the mission still shows as failed trying to redirect to the "find Vorobushkin". I am investigating, and will update if I manage to find a fix for it.

Does the total number of stalkers in zone change after starting a new game. I raised the mutant and stalker population in ZCP to 1.2 and 1.5 respectively and started my gameplay as freedom but the total stalkers seems to be at 296 at start. I tinkered with anomaly's original population settings before that.
when I press M key- I hear strange beep sound. I checked game keybinds and in MCM too - and couldn't find anything on that button
they change after save/load, that stalker number is not accurate

The reason I increased it was because I saw no one other than a random freedomer and just important npcs when I started the game
its a bug and it can happen even with 10 population, its not a population issue
you can keep the standard population settings(0.6 for both) but try starting a new save and see if random stalkers start to appear again, also make sure mutant population in game settings is on .25 and stalker is on 1.0 just in case those still affect population somehow

I set these settings to default with no effect. Then I realized I had enabled zombie spawns in MCM. Disabled it and now stalker population is back to normal
never enable zombies, they take the spawns of other stalkers and can spawn almost everywhere

it crashes on load or new save so i dont think its avoidable, and right now fdda is enabled so you dont have to worry about that, you still have animations for drugs and food and you can change what is enabled and disabled in the mcm but try to not enable skinning and looting anims as they can cause busy hands

In answer to my question ages ago. I have solved the Vorbushkin dying during Artefact Hunters and that story ending. Took me ages researching all the correct files to get the answer, but this is now tested & verified. It's all in the txt file I am attaching. This should also work (using the correct syntax) for other NPC's in that storyline if they should die. No idea why he died, he is set as immortal correctly, but perhaps I shot him during the Operation Afterglow story?

I enable compass in MO2, but How do you show the compass instead of the minimap? Which botton to press or what option in the menu? I dont know where it is. I still see the minimap

you need to only have one ticked. untick minimap in that section and have compass ticked. use forward slash to toggle minimap/compass in game. the compass will be at the bottom of your screen.

OpenAL is configured properly, Audio's good in other games, Anomaly included - where i dont experience what i am in Gamma: I get this sound, often around campfires - but not every one. Happens in other situations, maybe near certain anomalies, other things - sound like - hollows out, gets way more quiet, subtle muffling and crackling like if someone where fiddling with a bit loose headphone jack, sometimes resolves after 20-30 seconds, other times seems i need to move away from the area.
Others experience this or similar in gamma?
ok, artefact and containers are bugged? I made three full empties, merged them to get one with 44% efficiency, decided to use it so put it into the advanced container. Looked at it and now the efficiency is suddenly 14%
I took the full empty out and now the efficiency is 20%

There's something called GAMMA MCM (rename it blabla)
Just rename it as indicated

Your user.ltx (graphics) will be reset though
If you do a complete install to update, make sure to keep the MCM folder
In the next version of the installer I'll make a single purpose button that will remove "GAMMA owned" mods and reinstall them
Remove the "- Rename to keep your personal changes"
Next time you'll do an update, you'll get the same mod with the same name
Delete the new mod and keep the one you named

They will if you sleep. You can edit the script file to change that, though
If you search for "injuries" in MO2 you can find it in gamedata -> scripts
you can change the time for "local regen=0" from 0 to however many milliseconds you want. So if you changed it to local regen=600000 then you would regen one point every 10 minutes

GAMMA have a mod that take the tooltip on the left part of the screen just for that reason
well, that's not helpful since I often look for parts in trader's inventories or in my chest
in fact, it would be more useful if that thing would always be on the right side if the left side inventory is taken

what do you do with artefacts? can't sell them for money and when I equip them they seem to degrade really quickly

i use them at 100% efficiency but they go down as soon as i wear them

you can make them infinite though in the config. I don't bother with the durability of artefacts.

Very rarely though, every 1 in 40 rock worshipper I killed has them and it's usually stewed
first 1-2 days in the zone you have to probably buy/cook but once you are rolling in stashes? I get plenty
only cooked food i ever looted was zone produced and some stewed, never knew purified was possible to loot
I've had it happen like, twice or so
So it's incredibly rare and honestly it's usually purified Dog Chops

are you sure its the food with buffs you are looting ? sorry but through the many runs on gamma i never seen purified food on stalkers it really seems impossible to have that much of it you dont even need to cook it
