also, I tried saving and loading after getting the dead ecologist's PDA
you can find most the artefacts for these quests with the lowest detector tier so thats not the problem
and I tried leaving and entering the location
I'm afraid they mean you to use a different device to find the artefacts...
try going to the synapse one and getting the artefact there
see if its there or not

Does anyone have any issue with looking in the direction of the sun and onscreen theres a "flashlight". It looks very faint so its hard to take a screenshot to even show it. Once I look around 90 degrees away from the sun however, it disappears. Its sorta distracting and annoying.

i think there could be some opacity values in the mcm or maybe in the gamma UI files

if you go there then north a bit and then left there is a stash, could be around his position
it should be in the sewer system, cant be on his floor or the second floor
there's no left, there's a very short dead end north of the entrance under the stairs but there's no left

i played SoC as well and I think you have to fight about 100 soldiers throughout the entire CNPP, but there's probably at least 100 you have to fight in this one room alone in the mod
either way the bodies will not stop spazzing out and ruining the framerate and making this section uncompletable

the problem is that i have to look directly at it and do this on every corpse before it spazzes out because it becomes untargetable for obvious reasons. I guess there is no blanket "delete all corpses" command?
did you try to save via console and reload? at least part of the spasm should be gone that way

i find it funny that i use antidote to heal head hp more than to actually protect against chemicals

for example the suit movement speed modifiers are probably directly balanced around having the skills increase it over time
without the skill system you will only have the grok's gotta go fast changing speeds along with the suits multipliers

stashes didnt change, but that could have been one time luck
highest chances for expert tools are in cnpp, the further north the better
true but getting to zaton/cnpp on a story playthrough takes a bit longer than radar
got expert on my duty ironman run first white stash in zaton
the green ones tend to have other toolkits plus weapons and armor in my experience

For example a gun's description says damage is 20 and is loaded with HP ammo comparing with another guns damage 25 loaded with FMJ ammo. Which gun does more damage?

I have a question regarding artefacts. I can't find any info anywhere. I have 3 artefacts on me, and i can't sell them to the Eco boys because artefact condition is to low. Is there no way of selling these artefacts or raising their condition? Or should i use the artefact melter and melt them, will that raise their condition?
the artifact melter allows you to empower artifacts with the same artifact if its radiation giving off ones
you can use the non radiation ones as fuel
so for example combining one empty with another will give you more durability on it and make it more powerfull
think ecos will buy artifacts once they are 30%

you need a first aid (yellow dots) first like medkits
and then a post heal (white dots) like ibuprofen

fix the part then use the tool kit to fix the exo

Exoscelleton repair kit (ususally locked behind the Expert tool kit) and the parts used in the Exo you want to repair (hopefully at 100% each), and then you just repair it like every other armour in the game
also if you guys rightclick the items and go to "details" you can see in the list what kind of repair kit and cleaning kits you can work with, on that item

use the right ammo for the target or aim for head/ legs since they are the least armored
you can kill armored stalkers with buckshot to the legs or head if you are close enough and if you hit enough pallets
its not effective, thats why you should not fight unless you can win or have to early game

I'm not a big fan of the barrel condition affecting dmg. It doesn't sound like there's an easy way to improve a barrel in the field, is that correct?
you can hope for a gun with a good barrel or dirty barrel since repairing that is easy, or you can get a full repair kit to replace the barrel
but the ballistics isnt hard or annoying if you get to know it and find how it works
Does fixing a barrel's condition exhaust a use of the repair kit?
if the barrel is only dirty you can maintain the gun using the specific gun's cleaning kit to clean the barrel, if the barrel is beyond dirty you will need to replace it using a repair kit, you can either get a new barrel or repair one and then use the vice menu(you can open it using a toolkit to) this way wont use a charge from the repair kit. or you can right click and maintain the gun but it will consume one charge from the repair kit
Ah okay, so the barrel is still cleanable up to a certain condition as per vanilla rules
Okay, sweet, that changes everything. I read the manual a got worried when I saw that barrels had to be replaced at workbenches, but maintaining as normal can mitigate this.

The field-stripping ability is pretty cool.
a lot of people got scared of a lot of gamma mechanics, especially ballistics, gun repair, health system and artefacts but they never played with the mechanics enough or sometimes never read the manual which can be really helpful
@graceful iron I tried to disable Artefacts Reinvention mod and my game always CTD is there a work around or is it something im doing?
I'm not so worried about the mechanics, I have a good understanding of vanilla and have read the manual for GAMMA. I was more concerned about how much had changed and how drastically it would affect the next run - I have a very specific structure in mind.

Well, unless I’m missing something obvious. (Which is entirely possible) you need a basic toolkit to repair armor and craft anything. I’m six in-game days in and have not seen one toolkit drop. Idk if this is as intended or I’m just massively unlucky.

that explains a lot, are you friendly with loners? you can do the shotgun quest for hip (a stalker in rookie village) and she will give you a basic tool kit

Hello, Im trying to get Groks masks to work the way I want it to but im having issues/troubles. If im having a durr moment let me know.
I want my game to look like the first image (that I copy and pasted from someone in this discord) and I also want the distortion on the corners gone. I know this is possible because i've done this in vanilla Anomaly a year ago and i absolutely loved it. I tried reinstalling Mask reflections (129) in MO2 and selecting OPT1 while also disabling "No mask textures" under GAMMA fixes but it just shows "Shadows/Dark spots" rather then a more "realistic" overlay. If anyone has any ideas or to tell me im missing something id appreciate it!

I was following someone elses instructions when I ctrl+f'd this discord and they only mentioned that they installed the OPT1 option and that was not working for me at all

you cant, you can put items in a stash and it will automatically have an icon on the map
getting stash locations from quests or dead bodies marks the stashes on the map
Hello, I want glass reflections off permanently on my masks. Its off in the player settings but everytime the mask comes off (putting it in my inventory, eating/drinking, etc) glass reflections turns back on once the mask reapplies itself.
Anyway to stop this?

Hello. I've checked all the boxes in settings to be able to fast travel to my backpack and yet it does'nt work. Why is that ?

Ive read that the armour repair is done in the same manner as guns, yet it seems to behave in the same way as anomaly. As in i can repair it by using stuff bought from the mechanic and the parts inside will repair too
How about making a separate section in pda for fast travels ? It seems pda markpoints are bugged. Most of the time they don't even work. or just a certain point works.

i usually play on scavenger and its a mixed bag, how ever once you got used to it, you could call it easy

what is your average fps?
you can turn fps counter on by pressing the home button and then going to settings tab and show fps
if the fps is somewhat low you can try #old-framerate-optimisation
if its only stutters with those console events

i think i might have found a bug or something. ive dropped a bunch of weapon parts with very low health. when i returned to the location the two stalkers who were there before were dead (duty killed them) and they both had weapon parts in their inventory. 2-4 parts each and in 100% condition

yes you can! check for time_factor in alife.ltx, tweak it to you likings oh and also here are some parameters for switching the alife on in x meters (for performance reasons). The archive has all vanila values except from the start date

How does this work with quests that have timers? time events, and the hoard of other stuff that relies and uses the time values? (meds, food/hunger etc) Ive wanted to edit the time values but looking on the moddb pages of mods that do this seems to be questionable.
if now a medkit heals for 10% in 5 seconds if you change the time factor you will need to rebalance everything to the new time factor... i think. For myself i only fiddled with the date and starting time and the switch_distance parameters (meters which is alife ON = performance / stuttering, vanila anomaly value is 750)

ill explain to my understanding: there is 4 parameters, objects_per_update which i think is how many objects loads the engine at a time (default is 20, i have it on 1), switch_distance where the number is how many meters where alife is ON (default anomaly is 750 / on misery mod was like 450-550 and vanila like 300, i have it on 750) then auto_switch which can be true (on) or false (off) (default is false = off), and last there is a subparameter for the auto_switch called auto_switch_distance_normal which is like switch_distance but when you have activated auto_switch <- that i think it functions as a pseudo on the fly where the game switches from your switch_distance parameter and auto_switch_distance_normal. For example i play switch_distance 750 but then the game switches to my auto_switch_distance_normal parameter 500 for performance reasons so i would have alife on 500 meters instead of 750. You will need to test some parameters for yourself, for me, does this work? I dont know... i play on an ssd and still xray stutters sometimes loading alife, stutters wont be gone miraculously but maybe they will be alleviated. Sorry for wall of text

So how's GAMMA compared to your other modded stalker experiences ?

im enjoying it really much, and i have played since LURK for SOC
progression is really good and fun because it makes me use existing mechanics like crafting which i never and i mean never used through other playthrougs in anomaly. Also im a big fan of travelling and backtracking so i play with low loot chances and trader destockifier and that means i need to travel a bit to replenish my basic needs. Was a big fan of the trading system in dead air, i mean with random stalkers and not only traders so maybe this could be a suggestion

yes, but its easy to drink some vodka or eat some sleeping pills and use a sleeping bag instead of a bed for better sleep and have a bed spread in your inventory so you are less likely to wake up early. to go back to normal anomaly sleep you can disable gamma sleep balance, immersive sleep and fdda immersive sleep patch

make sure you are not asking guards or main characters

Do they actually protect your head or is it just a flat ballistic resistance bonus? Maybe they actually protect your noggin thanks to the body health system
they only protect the head, and they have the most radiation res in gamma so that makes them really powerful
for armor and helmets you can hold left alt and then hover over them in the inventory if they are damaged, will show you their full stats as if they are fully repaired so you can compare multiple of them
you can use this for artefacts as well

they protected from headshots and any damages that hit the head bones i believe, even in anomaly but i would assume the health system does it in a different way

no idea what you mean by "tree flickering". if you are talking about the aliasing on the trees yes it's not great the only real solution is to play at a higher resolution or use driver level super sampling if you have an nvidia card.
Yeah the anti-aliasing. They "flicker" really bad whenever I walk. I heard the anti aliasing option in settings doesnt do anything. I've never noticed a difference.
