@prime magnet To clean your "Shader Cache", don't use the option in the Anomaly launcher.
Go in this folder: Anomaly\appdata, you'll find a folder called shaders_cache, delete this folder and launch the game normally from MO2, using your preferred DX.

Try this for giggles.

1. Open your main G.A.M.M.A. installation folder.
2. Navigate to the appdata folder.
3. Delete the shaders_cache folder completely.
4. If there is a cache or savedgames\script_vars file/folder layout, leave your actual .sav files alone but clear out any temporary cache files.

So Here is the Mod in Question...

So for giggles.

1. Close Mod Organizer 2.
2. Go to your main G.A.M.M.A. installation folder (not the Anomaly folder).
3. Open the mods folder.
4. Scroll down and look for the folder named G.A.M.M.A. Weapon Pack (or similarly named core weapon pack folder).
5. Delete that entire folder. (Don't worry, the launcher will recreate it cleanly).

On the Steam OS terminal window I can see the contents to confirm on my system.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s notoriously unstable texture streaming engine. GPU crash, out of VRAM or similar forcing a GPU driver reset likely resulting in hanging the game.

1. Change the Texture Resolution Setting

in-game Video settings and drop the Texture Quality slider down to 75% or 80% (High) instead of Maximum

2. Clear the Shader Cache

Just like with the other guy's script crash I helped with, whenever a GPU driver hangs during a texture allocation routine, it can leave behind bad cache data.

Wipe and Redownload the Core Weapon Files

I'm guessing the file in question is coming from G.A.M.M.A. Weapon Pack.

Close the game and MO2.

Open your Windows file explorer and go to: .../gamma/mods/

Delete the G.A.M.M.A. Weapon Pack folder entirely.

Run the G.A.M.M.A. Launcher.exe as an Administrator and click First Install / Update G.A.M.M.A. The launcher will verify the files, notice the entire repository for weapon meshes is gone, and install a clean, complete 0.9.5 set with the correct anim profiles.

I don't use this installer or method anymore as its slow and prone to issues.

I install using the CLI tool with about 6 threads all running at once.

Its taken a while to balance the basic video settings but I think I nailed it. Unfortunately if you have a different monitor technology and base color temperature it won't look as nice as I am seeing it but the sky isn't a blown-out sheet of white and the shadows aren't a flat, foggy mess. I've played too long with the gamma, saturation and brightness way off for my monitor and every update resets my settings so I wrote a script to just check and change all the settings back to what works good here. If this image looks great on your monitor then try these settings: gamma 0.6, color saturation 1.0, brightness 0.9

the vss vintorez iron sight seems to be misaligned. started a new game spawned as monolith with the gun on a new save to double check and it still was the case. the bullet goes quite a bit above where the sights line up similar to how the colt m45a1 sights behaved

I cannot for whatever reason, disable head bob. I've gone under settings > visual > ui/hud > head bobbing factor and set it to 0. My character is still shaking like a mofo. I've tried rebooting the game, setting the factor to max, then back down to 0. Nothing works.

Update - Managed to fix it. Go to Mod Config Menu > Camera Reanimation Project > Uncheck Walk and Run effects.

Having troubles with 3DSS (3D Shader Scopes) and GIMP (GAMMA Immaculate Munitions Pack), the mods themselves are busted?

1. Download the mods manually:
   3DSS and GIMP
2. Place them into [Your Gamma]\downloads folder, replace if needed.
3. Open Gamma Launcher and press Install/Update GAMMA

IF it's your first installation, leave all boxes CHECKED.

A lot of other people are having this issue, and it's literally game-breaking because I can't enter swamps, period.

It seems this is a Great Swamps only crash as everyone else whose had this crash has been in the same location.

2. Make sure all 4 checkboxes are enabled;
3. Click Install / Update G.A.M.M.A. and wait for the install process to be done;
4. Open your MO2 and check if you have any red crosses, make sure that you have #📍577-mods-in-mo2.

This procedure does not remove saves, you're not going to re-download everything from scratch and it will not delete your progress, your saves are safe.
The launcher will simply check every mod in the pack, reinstall or fix them if you have red crosses and any mod that need to be updated - will be updated.

• In case you want to save your in-game settings and modlist (because the launcher will revert them back to default), type !backup in #🤖bot-commands.
• If you wish to keep Reshade, disable the last checkbox before clicking Install / Update G.A.M.M.A..

Make sure you unzip that in your gamma/grog installer folder.
Then run an update. I had the same problems with mods it couldnt find because of that reason.
I updated trough an older launcher.

Im not 100% sure yet, but I updated yesterday and noticed many different gun models. Upon trying to update again, I noticed many mods failed to download through the installer. These mods are: personal adjustable waypoint (330), 3D Shader Scopes (410), Interaction Dot Marks (452), GIMP (461), Xlib (482), and Billwa's Weapon Collection (486). Im trying to redownload them manually to see if it solves it

For me, it was probably a problem with the new launcher version - more likely an extraction problem. I downloaded the 8.6 launcher again and extracted it again. Updated and the models are back to what they were.

Okay so you're on a slightly older version of gamma, cuz current modcount is #📍577-mods-in-mo2 (unless you're using custom mods then just go into #🔨modded-gamma-support ) so if you really care about getting onto latest modlist, see hotfix method from #💽how-to-update

1. Go to your GAMMA/downloads folder, and delete all files that match the name DAR_vxxx.zip (where xxx is the version number)

3. Download the mod file(s) from moddb. DO NOT EXTRACT.

To bring your mod list, settings and keybinds back to default, inverting any changes made by you:

1. Open the G.A.M.M.A. Launcher with admin rights
2. Uncheck every box EXCEPT Delete Reshade DLLs
3. Click on Install / Update G.A.M.M.A

Note: If you wish to keep your keybinds and graphical settings, go to Anomaly\appdata and backup user.ltx.

Actual explanation:
AVX is a way for your CPU to do calculations on a large array of data simultaneously. This is the same kind of job GPUs are primarily meant for.
So if your GPU is decent, AVX is (in most cases) outclassed by the GPU itself. Best way to know which is better for you, personally, is to try both versions and see what does or doesn't crash/performs better.

1. Go to Settings -> Modded Exes > Visual > Shader Scopes, make sure 3DSS is on
2. Go to Settings -> Visual -> Advanced, make sure AA and SMAA are off

Having troubles with 3DSS mod download or the mod itself is busted?

1. Download the mod manually from this link
2. Place it into [Your Gamma]\downloads folder, replace if needed.
3. Open Gamma Launcher and press Install/Update GAMMA

IF it's your first installation, leave all boxes CHECKED.
If your mod is busted, UNTICK Check MD5 and Force git download (OR follow instructions provided by a Helper)

4. Wait for the install to end.
