Moddb + the launcher are used as the main sources for GAMMA because, well, 100% of the mods used in GAMMA are on Moddb and these mods are uploaded respectively by their creators
The launcher, when it makes the request for X mods to Moddb, leaves a +1 download to each individual mod, the creator will then receive a +1 download on their mod
If, for example, you have 10 mods on Moddb and GAMMA contains your 10 mods, you will have +10 downloads on your mods on Moddb, this is to make it more ethical and fair to each individual mod creator
Not to mention that you also have to keep in mind the updates of each individual mod and hotfixes that are needed when something breaks
This is also why an automatic launcher/installer is used and not, as explained, an updated torrent whenever there is the need, which has been asked for since the dawn of time, because it is simply impossible to keep updated something like that and it clearly isn't ethical
Not only that, you also have to ask each mod creator if a torrent is okay

So yes, the launcher, hidden/obfuscated or not, is the only way we have
And this is way the torrent does not and never will be a solution to any issue

Just because it happened doesn't mean that it's the correct way to do stuff, it's just a matter of ethics, that's it

Moddb is not flooded anymore, if anything having traffic is good for them, there have been several attempts to contact them to avoid any annoyance that might be caused by the launcher but there has been no response (as far as I know, I am not the creator of the mod pack, I just know things)
You having problems is most likely due to this:

1. Bad internet connection (the speed doesn't matter, downloading stuff with a wifi connection can be a problem and I tried)
2. Your ISP/where you live/both can be (and probably are) problematic with either Moddb, GitHub or both, we had many cases like this

And not only that, the most important part (that you are missing but it's because I haven't said anything about it) is that 98% of the people in here are convinced that this stuff works like Steam:
I press Play > I can play, they don't give a fuck of the whole mess behind it, they have no idea how modding works in general, they don't even get to understand that Anomaly 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 are two different things, they download Anomaly and they're done, then they come here and the game doesn't start, why? Because the update was not put inside the folder, because it is something that is done manually

The mod pack works anyway, I never had all the problems that I read and encounter in here daily, and my mod list is also modified, I added and removed things and I literally got zero knowledge of modding, I just know how to extract stuff in which folders and I know how to actually read
Most of the time it's simple bad luck, because unfortunately it's all done through the internet and things can clearly get lost, it's normal
Often instead it's the end user's fault, who gets their hands on things they have no clue about
And then there are cases like (maybe) yours where your ISP has nothing to do and gets in your way
Actually I don't know exactly what your problem is or if you have talked about it above

All of this just to say that I would actually like a torrent, it clearly is the best choice and whatever, but it's not possible

My internet is being very unstable which is why the installer is not working for me because you have to start over when it happens. This is why I suggested a torrent, at least for those large ass mods that risk getting corrupted when internet cuts out.

If anyone ever run into this weird clipping on an HDR10 electric bogaloo monitor/tv, I found the culprit
It was "Atmospherics" tonemap and dynamic tonemap that clashed with the tv HDR black stabilization and automatic tonemapping (duh)

Uninstalled both, but the custom SSS without them apparently lacked couple .h files and crashed the game, so I just replaced it with the og SSS from moddb, now the game looks amazing, foggy nights are foggy and those dark nights look just like the real thing, all without reshade

also for whatever reason stuff doesn't either fails to download the zip in its entirety or when the files are being unzipped by the launcher/installer they don't get utilized/installed correctly and it fucks stuff up. only way i've been able to fix this type of stuff is to follow the instructions on the launcher and click install based on the text

if that fails to fix it then the only other choice is to extract your save files and start over from scratch IMO.

that's without direct support from someone who's done this for a long time

Grok has decided to make his vision of the Zone mandatory for everyone, activating by default certain mods that make everything "dead".
To return to the old version of the Zone, you simply have to disable these mods:

• Simple Autumn Retexture No leaves
• Gardener of the Zone Textures
• Autumn No Leaves LOD Fix
• Grass Tweaks (reinstall for different options)
  About this mod, you'll actually need to reinstall this mod and select the summer variants.
  To do this:

1. Right click on the mod
2. Click on "reinstall"
3. Choose "summer" for trees and grass (I don't have the mod in front of me so I don't know the exact choices)
4. When asked, select "Merge"

Suggestion/Tip/Warning:
If, and only if, you might want to re-enable G.A.M.M.A. NPCs cannot see through foliage, I suggest to DISABLE Weapon Cover Tilt, because the "can't see through bushes" mod makes every bush basically a wall and the "tilt" mod sees them as such, making it almost impossible to hide and shoot inside them.

KEEP ALSO IN MIND that Weapon Cover Tilt is "tied" with Gunslinger Controller, meaning that you can't disable one without disabling the other.
To avoid a CTD, I recommend to disable the tilt mod directly from Mod Configuration Menu in game, without touching MO2, so you can keep everything else enabled.

Due to many MCM settings, reshade settings, and user.ltx, for hotfixes or patches, it would really be nice that when there is an Announcement about a hotfix or patch, it can also mention if we should let the installer replace those files or not. Another idea is to put the new mod(s) GAMMA MCM settings with the Announcement so that we can manually change or confirm those attributes if we don't want to reset our MCM settings.

A few patches ago, it was important to replace the user.ltx due to many reshade changes. But, this time it seems like there is no change, so making that clear would be such a helpful thing for us to know. I thank you.

Yo, I disabled reshade because I always feel it doesn't add much but another layer of processing taxing on the fps, in games like fallout 4 etc I always used it for things like dinamic dof, a bit better smaa and maybe some color correction, but in gamma/anomaly you already have dof via shaders and at 4K I don't notice visible aliasing!
The default reshade from what I remember is very light tho, because all the color correction and tonemapping are done with those mod shaders, so doing like I did but keeping the reshade active should give you good results anyway!

PS: to solve the issue I also tried Special K .dll but won't run with dx 11 and 10 exes of the game, which are essential for it to enable the SDR to HDR retrofit, it runs good on dx9 but you won't have the hdr conversion (it has a great fps limiter tho, useful in dx 9 because the fps skyrocket to 300 for me)

When I try load my save I get a "Fatal Error, LUA error", and it's citing the "ssfx_rain_hug_raindrops.script:42, attempt to call field rain_hemi" a nil value slack trace. Hello, I'm having some trouble with the weapons. For some reason, they don't appear on my hand, the sound and animation of being equipped appear, but I can't see them. I'm thinking is because of shaders, because before I would get the "Shaders compilation failed" error, and when I read the log a lot of weapons would appear with errors. I deleted the ReShade DLLs with the launcher and before I could play the game with no problems. The log states something about DLTX attempting to override something that doesn't exists.

It's not bad, actually when you want it to work - it works great, but - you can turn it off explicitly only for windowed/borderless games, but you can't control it for full screen games, which means if you want to turn HDR off for fullscreen game - you should turn windows HDR off completely.

I guess it won't be an issue for you with OLED TV, but my laptop suffers from a software bug that causes massive stutters when G-Sync is on and windows HDR is off And (obviously cause microsoft) the way windows defines what is windowed and what is not is a freaking mystery, and of course for GAMMA windows always thinks that it runs in fullscreen, no matter what setting you choose ingame. Not even speaking about how shitty HDR is on my screen, basically a marketing gimmick ffs.

k @brisk zinc falco , but just for clearance, what your videos and tutorial in my view seem to transmit is that you have to download 4 files before you do anything else, you are not even supposed to open any, there is no installer and that comes after you have 4 files, and the dowloads.7z is impractical to download, takes 13hours.

@brisk zinc as promised here are some minor changes in the text tutorial: the exclusions part in the Windows Defender tutorial is a bit different in Windows 11, but with a bit of intelligence you can do the same ;;;;;;;;;;; you should say to put the anomaly file file 1 and 2 in the anomaly paste and the gamma in the other for the dummies out there;;;;;;;;;;;;; you should put the extract of the files in the 7zip to "extract here" is easier, extracts to the paste with one click ;;;;;;;;;;;; the words "Overwrite files" when you extract should be in bold because its important;;;;;;;;;;;; you should say now you can delete the 7z.s files and your paste should look like this: ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; one final thing, when you are doing the final downloads or installations when you click "Play" you should give us a waiting time prediction of the time we have to wait, because its not clear in the "total progress" bar.

Have you tried just letting it sit there for a moment. It does say that it will appear to hang for a while as its extracting. Also, if you click on a window in Windows when it is doing that it will go grey and appear to be frozen. Try running it again and just letting it sit for a good 10- 15 minutes.

go to your Anomaly folder -> appdata folder -> logs folder -> look for the file xray_yourname.log, it's usually the second file. Drag and drop it into discord

cool unfortunately for me it's one of the classic "error log doesn't actually say what is wrong in a way a human can understand" - usually in this instance I would recommend starting by just runnign the Launcher as admin -> click "install/update GAMMA" and see if it magically fixes itself

Also, stalker population is significantly lower, barely anyone at the farm in Cordon apart from the merchant and technician...last I played was december-january and I remember the location being significantly livelier; fiddled with ZCP settings but it still is pretty unpopulated

you'd have to start editing the THAP mod yourself - look in its config files, you can probably tell it to swap the models used for one armor for another model
