Why does every update completely reset my keybinds/my settings/my mods/my stuff in general?

G.A.M.M.A. has a default mod list and a default list of keybinds and settings, just to make sure everyone has the same things.
When you update, everything goes back to default for this reason, so yes, it's normal.

In troubleshooting I found where it says to delete the shader cache when getting that error, I deleted the shader cache in the anomaly folder now my modloader says 379 mods and the game crashes on startup with the error shader compilation failed.

This is what you could find:

3. xray_yournamehere without any file extension

You just need to send ONE of these files where it was asked. It's either ONE file with .txt OR .log OR with nothing at the end. DON'T send anything with .bkp at end.

Drag and drop the file inside the Discord channel, Discord will handle it for you.
Make sure you're not using any extra mods, if you do, you'll need to ask in #🔨modded-gamma-support.

What it means by that is don't install gamma into a windows write protected area like Program Files folders. So Bade Node in Heap basically means a mod is corrupted but doesn't tell you which. You could try to run the launcher/installer again but onlyi check md5 and force zip extract. I am basing that off the help one of the Helpers gave to someone else a while ago.

It would be worth a try. Make sure you are using a brand new default anomaly with the update applied. gamma needs an unmodified anomaly install.

You might as well keep everything ticked on except for Delete Shader unless your machine cant handle the shader. That will force check everything, force extract everything and make pretty much set everything back to default. I had the same issue, but with a shotgun addon instead of the g36, what I had to do was manually download the mod, replace it in my gamma downloads folder, then rerun gamma installer

Hello. I am trying to debug the Quest "Desert Eagle 3x Arms Dealer" from Loki. In case you want to save your in-game or MCM settings (because the launcher will revert them back to default), type !backup in #🤖bot-commands.

Be very patient. The installer can take a really long time sometimes. Don't fiddle with it and let it complete its task. If it is obviously stuck on downloading one specific mod for a while then say something. The Installation/extraction phase can take a while.

Well I'll let one of the more experiened guys know. But also, you guys really shouldn't update unless there is an #📢announcements to do so. Riding the bleeding edge of development changes can leave you with a broken install sometimes. Bugs do happen and generally get fixed pretty quick. Obviously that doesn't apply to those of you installing for the first time.

well my mistake was to just update my working stable build without knowing this could become a issue, since i just got to GAMMA yesterday. now fresh reinstalling mightve been also a mistake but it´ll be fine i guess.

I realized that some of the mod archives in the Gamma downloads folder are .meta files instead of .zip's. I've seen interrupted downloads show up as meta files before, not sure if that's what this is but, would deleting these files force the launcher to redownload them?

basically yes, incomplete/interrupted downloads show up as .meta files. that should at least stop the installer from trying to open non-archive files as archive files

refresh the window first and then see if they're still there etc.
