rightclick one of the Basic/Advanced/Expert Kits and open Workbench
then you replace the parts of your Mask
you dont have to replace every parts of your mask, just until you reach x% so you can use the conventional glues etc. to repair it to a 100%
and if you repair to a 100% all the other parts that werent 100% now are

I've never found a toolkit yet, nor seen a trader selling them, so I guess the hunt continues. A bit annoying having ~15 kg of armor with me that I can't repair or use or sell yet without the toolkit.
Toolkits are found in the Stashes you get on your PDA
you cannot sell/buy armor or weapons
stash the stuff you want for later
spam missions, loot NPCs - get stash info and loot them
the further north you go, the better the toolkit level chance. so you wont find advanced/expert in Cordon
For now I'm just going to dismantle everything I can't use and sell the parts. When I get a toolkit then I'll worry about repairing weapons and armor.

Strange the mechanics / technicians in the world are unable to repair stuff for you at higher prices. I have more money than God, and yet I'm still in the hobo phase because I can't use any of the loot I find.

If you're rich. Pay Sid or some other info broker for stash locations. Bound to be some tools in one of those stashes

it's honestly a waste of money. if you do enough missions and loot every dead NPC + read thr PDAs they often carry you will swim in stash locations
If you don't see the option, you might have run that dialogue once before and now it will forever just say "Here [6500ru]

Hello, I'm going nuts currently... After finding kovalevs laptop I need to find 3 samples. I have easily found two of them, but the sample at Bedrock Claws simply doesn't appear. I think the sample should just be visible in the middle of the "claw formation" but nothing is there. I already reloaded an older save, left Agroprom and came back, slept until night etc

No. You can edit this without problem in the nosorog ltx file
can you put exo-skeletons over any armor or are they their own full armor?
I did try looking for files with Nosorog in a VS code search already, but didn't find anything. Would you happen to know that path?

It's probably worth using, it offers a lot of protection in firefights and a lot of belt slots, the only drawback is the anomaly protection isn't great
You can fix that with an artefact though

Take the whole outfits folder and copy it into:
Anomaly > gamadata > configs > items (You might have to make this file yourself)
Inside the now placed items > outfits folder will be an ltx file called o_nosorog

GAMMA have a portable instance
Don't install MO2 with a global instance, it can create problems
If you've used Anomaly with some mods or stuff like that, you'll need to delete the folder and extract it again
Like I had it in my head that GAMMA was somehow like anomaly in that you need to manually install and update, not an installer that takes any new changes as soon as you select the update button, there's nothing to understand really, I was just being a moron haha

GAMMA doesn't touch Anomaly, it's all outside of it
The installer grabs mods from Moddb and install everything inside the GAMMA folder, which contains MO2 as well

Don't install MO2 on your computer since GAMMA provide a portable install of it

You need the toolkit (basic/advanced/expert) and the repair kit (whatever the gun or the armour need)

It seems odd, but if you think about tool kits, there are going to be different tools in each one, so stuff thats in basic is probably not in the advanced for instance.
I have a problem. Whenever I turn on ssao, and load the game, the screen just goes black. The hud is still visible, the game is running but nothing is visible on the screen. Pls help me with a fix.

We can't really see the problem if you take a picture with your cellphone. If you have a problem you want to share with us, you can do the following, since we don't care about your second monitor or your desktop image:
- Press F12 in-game, look in
Anomaly\appdata\screenshots. If it's not there, look in your GAMMA RC3 folder, inside a folder calledoverwrite - Press PRTSC (Print Screen on your keyboard) open Paint, CTLR + V to paste the pic, save it, send it
- Windows key + Shift + S, which let you choose what part of the screen you want to copy, it will directly copy the pic for you (Snipping Tool™️ is subject to Windows own settings, not game settings, meaning gamma, brightness, and colour balance will be different.)

Yeah, the basic kit has like wrenches and screw drivers, where as the advanced might have calipers and clamps for instance. It doesnt make sense to a gamer most of the time because we go shouldnt the advanced have the basic. But for realism it makes total sense, because if I buy like a basic tool kit it will have basic stuff, but advanced tools might not include a screw driver for instance
It's literally what I thought as well, "isn't the advanced like an evolution of the basic?", so yeah we can put it in a "realism" perspective, but for me it's more of a "technical" thing, like "it's a bitch to code"

PS to fix my minimap I have resorted to a full reinstall (forgot to backup my save, but meh, the beginning is fun to me I like hunting for anything new) I tried a whole bunch of fixes before hand, and the log was less than helpful

I am normally 100% with you. However I had tried defaulting it, I had tried the .exe replace, as well as manually checking through the mods. I asked if there was another fix last night, but no one got back to me (understandable, we all have lives and jobs) so after exhausting everything I could think of I just went with the nuclear option

But with the weird issues I have had I half wonder if something bugged during my original install (not necessarily installer related, probably moddb) and eventually xray finally started to go enough is enough lol

This is intentional, stashes are filled when you get coordinates to them, it's for balancing purposes

It's like a loop, you can do that, but you can't do it from the start, or at least not right away

The progression is different, because you can't buy guns or armours
(if you disable the economy, of course, you can)

And you can have these coordinates from rewards or from dead stalkers PDAs
And rewards/stalkers PDAs = quests
Basic and Advanced are basically the early/mid game, Expert are late game
Expert only spawn in Red Forest and north from there

So I have a question concerning story quests. Right now the only of my quests is to get documents from CNPP. I gave the dude the documents from Brain Scorcher, saved the Clear Sky squad (got full empty for that). I think I botched one ecologist quest (I had to talk with a guy in dark valley and one time I just got adnotation that I failed that quest). Am I doing good or am I missing something?

in vanilla anomaly, guns dropped from enemies spawn with ammo in them and it can get annoying to right click > unload each one. it was more of a QoL
it unloads all guns that are not equipped in a slot, but they still have to be in your inventory

snd_restart did not work.. its like maybe the sound you hear when a burer is nearby or something psychic. but it wont go away. I tried reloading saves. Im just in the open in agroprom

So… I’m working with Pirogov in the Researcher’s quest line and in Dark Valley I need to find an artifact in the bubble bath Anomaly. The quest marker leads to the top of 3 silo’s and I’ve found some artifacts there but none of them pertain to the quest. Wondering if I’m an idiot or it’s bugged
The bug zapper anomaly in the same area of the bandit bases also had a quest marker by the entrance of the long fire tunnel but the artifact for the quest was at the end nowhere near the quest marker and I’ve found myself stumped as to if this is the same case where the quest marker is simply inaccurate

Damn, I’ve gone through about 3 blowouts and got 4 artifacts from the bubble bath anomaly but none of them were the quest attifact

Well… I presume a SVD with an armor piercing round suppressed to the back of the head would suffice

Hey, I have a question about overall game progression. So, I'm on a new run (and one of my first runs I'm sticking with), having started as a Loner in the Cordon with an SKS and a leather jacket. Within only a few hours of gameplay, I've gotten several great mid-game guns and armors, albeit in disrepair. Still, I feel like I've progressed way too quickly without meaning to. These were from stashes in the Army Warehouses, since I kept getting quests and stashes there so I decided to make an excursion there. Didn't expect it to be this lucrative, though. Is the goods being damaged the main limiter here, or did I just skip the early game a good deal?
Be aware that proximity to other stalkers ‘can’ piss them off but if you wait till the Nosorog boi is relatively alone it shouldn’t be too bad. Just make sure you hit them dead on in the head

also, disrepair seems like an understatement. they are unlikely to be seriously useable until you repair them.

I'm glad to hear that honestly, I was enjoying the SKS. In regular Anomaly I would rarely stick to the more basic guns since they would be so easily outmoded, almost immediately.

i can get a scope for the mosen for pretty cheap. so just waiting to find a history repair kit.
I’d definitely recommend bringing the heat to a stash you create. I’d recommend making a stash out of a spare backpack in the northern farm in cordon so you have someone in the loners to buy parts/repair supplies from. You’ll need tools to actually repair the gear you found as well, and you need advanced/expert tool kits in order to craft most weapon repair kits yourself… or you can pay out the ass in cash to buy the weapon kits required to replace some of the parts on your weapons. Keep in mind ‘some’ parts can be field stripped/replaced by hand without need of a tool kit at all, but doing so will bring dirt and dust into the weapon. Make sure the weapon itself is in decent condition before swapping out parts and be ready to touch them up after swapping out parts. The same goes for armor as well, textiles, Kevlar plates, and more can be used to repair armor, so long as you have the necessary armor kits to replace said parts
one of the gun traders in cordon, can clean the weapon for some $$, but they wont fix the inside bits.
I would recommend doing quests up north a ways once you’ve got support to try and get quests done there, then find some stashes up north. The farther north, the more likely you’ll find advanced/expert tools which will be necessary to maintain your gear since no one actively sells tool kits if I recall
personally, having to upgrade my own weapons is one of the coolest parts of this mod.

I found advanced and basic tools in the Warehouse stashes I mentioned. Should I give those to mechanics or save those for myself? Also, in general, what parts should I save from loot? Most of the guns I find are junked out, so I've been selling anything under about 60% durability, after disassembling.

You can actively use the tool kits in the field as well which prevents the need for a workbench but I’d personally advise having a couple spare tool kits to give to faction engineers so you can get some cash and influence
after you have built up a bit of a stash, i generally go through get rid of all but 2-3 of the best items.
The tool kits [basic, Advanced, Expert tools] themselves are infinitely usable, specialized weapon and armor kits however do have limited uses if you use them to simply increase the raw condition of gear. Replacing parts is significantly better use of such kits

Handgun repair kits for example can only be used to clean handguns of very low condition or replace the parts in them, but as for basic tool kits and the like, you’ll find a fair few in the field. I would HIGHLY recommend keeping ahold of a gunsmithing kit if you find one as well
Gamma changes ammo crafting quite a bit and makes it actually useful and more efficient to pluck every bit of ammo you find to break it down for parts to use in ammo you actively need
you can also craft a workbench if you like

My main difficulty thus far has been wrapping my head around the looting and repairing, since I never messed with the latter before and my concept of what's valuable is completely thrown off in terms of the former.
in the beginning anything that works is valuable
at least until you can get a weapon repaired up.
starting with an sks, it pretty slick. grab yourself a scope and snipe folks = profit
Mhmm, the gunsmithing kits are fairly common too as with Basic kits. I’ve found quite a few in Garbage. The maintenance aspect of the game can be a bit daunting at first but once you get used to stockpiling repair supplies it’s not ‘too’ difficult
make sure to find something for the mutants that run up on you
Shotguns are a great investment to take out mutants and bandits who often wear completely shit armor.

Damn not forget to utilize your surroundings when dealing with mutants as well. Surviving a chimera for s a lot easier when playing ‘Ring-Around-the-Rosey’ with a tree and a 12-gauge shotgun

Some weapons have functional laser sights, you can’t always remove them as they’re often part of kits that permanently attach to weapons

Holding the L key rather than tapping it will activate laser sights for most weapons that have them as well. Some weapons even allow you to use the laser solely rather than your scope by pressing V to change your aiming mode

It's mostly Bandit junk anyway so I don't care to repair most of it, but I'm mainly trying to figure out what to loot from said guns since a lot of it is junked out anyways but I don't want to hoard bullshit. I'm just going to need to adjust, but like Hellig said, it's daunting.
Other weapons can even have canted sights that can be used the same way such as the SVDS PMC, a late game weapon but one that works amazingly well for long and even close engagements seeing as the scope can be tilted aside in place of a red dot sight on the side
in gamma most everything can be used to craft things.

Indeed, scrapping broken detectors, radio’s, walky talkies and other electronics including actual sensors like the echo and Bear and even PDA’s will bet you parts that can be used to make upgraded versions of said equipment
you can take the batteries out of PDAs and sell them to some traders (in the chat section)
Bear in mind most upgraded gear requires increasingly more complex tool kits. You’ll need the advanced and expert tools to make most of the best gear including backpacks
you can talk to sidrovich in cordon and trade him PDAs for cash.
or break them down for parts.

I hope I was able to offer some useful tips on gear maintenance and acquisitions btw, it’s unlikely you’ll find anyone in the game that outright sells guns, usually just parts. Most weapons you’ll end up getting will be found on dead fellow stalkers

You must run the game in Borderless mode.
it works in fullscreen. I had to remove it from the list and re-add it o.o
For some users, Discord requires the game to be run in Borderless mode—otherwise the direct stream will be all black.
If you go in the settings to make it windowed mode, you can actually begin streaming and then switch back to Full screen while the stream is active

SOS, I just tried fast travelling to Cordon from Army Warehouses, and when I loaded in, the game just auto completed every task I had, including main quests. I tried reloading to a previous save, and as soon as I loaded in, it did the same thing. I'm hoping someone knows how to stop this, and that my save isn't bricked

I'm trying to wrap my head around the gun/suit crafting system here. So ... I bought the multitool and have been breaking down every gun that seems somewhat connected to an acquired gun that I would like to upgrade. In the past, any part could be improved from 0% up. Now, it seems like a gun part needs to be above 60% in order to be improved (50% for barrels iirc) ... I don't get many parts that clear the 60% threshold ... should I just toss/junk any part that is 60% or below?

Junk everything below 60% (60% and above is repairable). There is a tool you can buy if you give a mechanic some kits, which can repair stuff from way lower, but it's expensive and ONLY worth it really if you need just one more part and just can't seem to find it.

Also MR.Anomaly said junk anything below 60% condition, but that's only for weapon parts (they can't be easily repaired below that) but for suit parts the cutoff is 50%. So weapon parts keep anything 60% and above, and suit parts 50% and above

Hi guys. I've got a question. If you put the basic tools into the stash of a portable workbench, can you craft basic recipes with it? Or do you have to move the basic tools into your inventory for it to work?
Depends on how much weight I'm carrying. Typically if I bring it to my inv to strip anything then I'm just going to take it all and sell the extras for pennies, but hey it might make as much money as the couple bullets used to get the loot early game, late game it won't but extra cash always helps.
If I have carrying capacity I like to disassemble them with my multitool. I sell the <60% parts to technicians
To my knowledge they have to be in your inventory as of right now.

Has anyone find an actual way to tell what the mutants you are clearing when accepting a job? Are mutants actually diurnal and nocturnal? I assumed they just spawn and that's it. Or does the time of day accepting the job matter. And does the actual mission picture have any bearing on the mutant you'll fight? Since Anomaly I've tried figured this out but can't find a consistent pattern

To clean your "shaders_cache", don't use the option in the Anomaly launcher.
Go in this folder: Anomaly\appdata, you'll find a folder called shaders_cache, delete this folder and launch the game normally from MO2, using your preferred DX.

You gotta loot guns and parts and fix up guns yourself

the clear sky seva will probably have the better stats overall
the trade will give you a suit in the same condition of the one you traded in
they can sometimes bug out or get stuck. make sure they are close enough and on follow before you fast travel
Hey, I'm not sure if anyone had this problem before, but I can't seem to find the stash in the Train Hangar, near the sleeping area. I've searched through and through, on the lowest level, then the balcony in- and outside the walls, even managed to jump onto the weird machinery (probably an industrial hopper / mill for crops) above the sleeping area, and I see nothing that could even resemble a stash...
Can anyone give me any hints? Directions? Or is this stash simply bugged?

Could someone explain something about NPC spawns to me please. I have just fought my way through the Radar map for the first time to get to the Brain Scorcher. I took the cross country route (past the helicopter) and then doubled back down the road and eliminated all of the enemies. Then progressed up the road, taking everyone out as I went. When I rounded the corner with a view towards the gate into the compound I took up position about half way down that final straight to take out anything emerging from the gate. There then followed a protracted firefight where there were as many enemies coming from behind as were coming through the gate. Where were they coming from? I had killed everything behind me on the entire map, and there is no other access for them to exit the compound from. Do they just spawn out of nowhere?
its an upgrade kit. they are usually replaced by a different type of upgrade kit or removed

Are you asking about unlocking the factions as playable for you, or to unlock them as enemies in the game?
Because they spawn naturally with the zero need for you to do anything. They're just a rare encounter (sometimes)
random stalkers from UNISG and SIN will not spawn in the zone until you reach their respective storyline quests (except for some cases with addons like ZCP)
renegades are a random spawn and will mostly be found in the swamps

Last question (sorry!). I have been trying to use the Portable Workbench. I have crafted two now, but each time I select 'Place Item' I get the green dot outline, but pressing the F key (in my case Mouse 5) only seems to place the green dots (they lock in place and no longer move)! The actual workbench doesn't replace them as it should.
did you try changing the keybind to something else? and make sure there is enough space for it
Yeah, I have tried placing it in several different large spaces, same result each time. And I'm pretty sure the keybind isn't the issue as M5 works for everything else, and the dots do change state when I press it. I'll try reverting the bind to F later.

Hello there lads, I have a quick question about Death notifications.
Is there a way to change it to display a death notification for EVERY FACTION member you kill?
It seems that when I kill Military it doesn't show anything, but when I kill Eco for example, it shows that I did.
It also works the other way, when Military dudes kill loners, it displays a notification etc, but when a Loner kills them, it shows nothing.
Oh and one more thing, the immersive body addon appears to show a model from HD Models, not the DICK mod.

Hey @carmine wyvern when you play do you update pretty frequently? When I update I always have to disable/enable all my selected mods and re-do my settings. Not sure if there is a better way to do this so I always avoid updates.

Tested with multiple armors, that I have patches for in inventory. My only thing I wonder is if it does not allow you to use the keybind if durability is too low. Does someone else has problems with some stashes? I tried to collect the stuff from some stashes I got ( the white stash markers on map) but when I press F in front of them ( when it says press f) nothing happens ? for example the one stash in cordon on top of the railroad bridge
It seems I cannot interact with some of them maybe bugged ?

If you/an enemy drop a gun, your companion (if he manage to go literally on top of the item) will grab it

Hello, I hope this is the right channel to ask this. What kind of Hardware is needed to run Gamma at its finest? I think it reached a point where the game just looks to good for my old rig and even on the lowest possible settings I cant play fluently. Obviously just buying any good PC will do the job, but I was wondering if there are specific things or bottlenecks for the performance of Gamma / Anomaly etc.

The component that has the most influence is the CPU. In general there are no specific requirements for GAMMA. The CPU takes the most regarding the load because Anomaly uses a modified X-Ray engine and this old engine doesn't support multithreading. It's already a miracle the engine was converted to 64 bit.
However, I'd like to note that due to engine limitations this game doesn't really care whether you have a 3080 or 1080 nor some really fancy CPU but I'd say the CPU is still an important factor.

does it decrease stalker or mutant populations or what does it change?
In this area stashes can be hidden inside cabins, tubes and other places. I can't really see the exact location in your SC but take a better look.
This changes the distance of the NPCs (A-life) becoming active. This particular thing lowers the distance at which NPCs become active and start doing their things. Therefore may remove stutters because NPCs aren't active further away from you. They'll become active the closer you get to a particular area they are in.
This will require editing values in corresponding files if you can find which one is responsible for the variable zoom factor.

Hehe I hear you, might try figuring that one out eventually but for now I am not too bothered by it. Might get keen for it once I get into more open areas and could really use the zoom utility + the swap speed to that RMR red dot. But for now it's fine.

Not that I know of. Most addons are on Mod DB and well, they stay there because packing them into a Torrent will miss out any updates by their authors and that's probably not very good for copyrights I suppose

Stashes are empty by default; you will have to find or get coordinates to actually find something in them. These coordinates can be obtained as rewards by completing quests or by reading PDAs that you can find on the bodies of stalkers you kill. You can also buy them from traders, although the location is always random, so the location could be anywhere.
Inside these stashes you can find toolkits.
In the south part of the Zone (everywhere UNDER Red Forest) is where you'll find Basic and Advanced.
In the north part of the Zone (INSIDE Red Forest and ONLY NORTH from there) is where you'll find Expert, along the other two.
You also have the gunsmithing toolkit, which is used to craft ammunition of all kinds and you also have the drug making kit, used to create drugs and medicines.
Depending on the location, north or south:
**White **stashes have a small chance of finding ANY toolkit inside, this means that you can find ONE basic/advanced/expert toolkit **OR **a gunsmithing toolkit **OR **a drug making toolkit.
**Green **stashes have a 100% chance of finding ONE toolkit inside from that pool, so it could be anything but you'll always find one.

it's a tossup between selling the parts and giving them away for certain mutant part requests from npcs (stalkers alike), same goes for meat. Some can pay very good money for those parts, so my personaly strategy is to save anything related to bloodsucker, psysucker, burer, pseudogiant and controller parts, and just sell the lower tier parts to butcher (cat tails, pseudodog, boar etc.)

Yeah as others are saying keep parts for quests but if you're over full of parts Butcher gives you the pest price for all parts, better then the Ecos for some reason, so selling all parts is better with him but usually get much more for tasks
