Yeah that is the reason for your error, you can fix that one by typing !v8 in #🤖bot-commands , but yeah as I said the launcher has issues, if you do not get all mods or crashes on launch/opening the game you need to wait till it´s fixed.

To recruit random stalkers as companions:

1. Talk to the leader of the squad.
2. The size of the squad must be within your limit (by default you can't have more than one companion at the time).
3. Your rank value must be at least 1.5 times higher than that of the squad leader.
4. Squad leader must consider you friendly (depends on your rank, reputation, faction relations and more).

Requirements 3 and 4 don't apply to paid companions, but they are rarer overall and can only be found among Loners, Bandits, Mercenaries and Freedom.
If you wish to be able to recruit more stalkers, in-game, open Mod Configuration Menu > Custom Companion Squad Size, and drag the sliders found within to the right.
