Month 2 update: There is still a HUGE issue of voice chat not working at all for PC in 2k24. We cannot communicate at all. The issue was raised before release to the 2k community managers. @mortal scarab promised to have given the feedback directly to the 2k team.

Yet we are now in month 2 and voice chat is still not fixed! @silent prism @left tangle @quiet spindle

You just go in pick 2 zones you want to work on then you just have to make like at least half of the 10 shots in each zone to make it go from cold to neutral or neutral to hot and so forth no matter how many shots you took it will immediately upgrade that zone to whatever the next level you can close app if you start rough and start all over again so you don’t have to wait a week

Now if the defender is one meter away from an excellent shooter, all he has to do is raise the right stick to make it almost impossible to score

Can someone help me understand why if I choose not to compete in a game with bad teammate I get a 30-120 minute restriction for “poor sportsmanship”? ….. my first nba game is glitched on a new build, at almost halftime my team comes onto the court to celebrate as if the game is over, and the camera changes to a cutscene with my player as the focal point hyping up he performance. Go back to the old way of allowing players to be the best at everything IF they work at it or pay to gain the maximum attribute bars. I believe the last 2k that matched the aforementioned update was Nba2k9 or Nba2k11 I forgot.

Secondly, the fouls that CPU defenders commit when one penetrates are excessive and rarely called, regardless of whether you have a gold or Hall of Fame whistle badge. I've gotten pushed, grabbed and flat out mauled with no penalty to the defender

Fouls were called properly and the players were as good as they wanted to be without having glaring weaknesses that put them at huge disadvantages when going against Nba players on higher difficulty settings

Every year I’ve ever played Rec and players have left, it’s never made it unfair. What’s unfair is teammates who stuck around the whole 30 minutes and intentionally disrupted and “sold” the game playing horribly to ruin the experience.

If anything, you should be able to come and go and leave freely as much as you want. What really needs to happen is adding a Vote to kick system. It’s far more fair than just indiscriminately punishing everyone who lags out or leaves the game.

AI’s are kinda hit or miss. Player AI’s that replace the User are total garbage. Picking up the tendencies of the user or straight up just playing better than them entirely. But like clock work every game I’ve played with an AI that loaded into a match with our squad is easily the most consistent player and often gets a double double by the end of the game.

I like that the AI’s aren’t to be underestimated on Offense, and kinda stupid on Defense ( occasionally leaves their assignment to leave you open. ) the issue is the culture still refuses to just let the AI do their thing. Passing up a wide open look from the AI to chuck up a double teamed 3 that’s 100% contested.

——- Nah fr tho, rework the Ban system. Cause I get it, quitting honestly is more of an insult to the other team than the guys you play with. It’s bittersweet when my match up quits because the AI is smart and I have to work harder to get open and play harder defense. But it’s so satisfying when the whole team forfeits because my no squads team just got a 30 pt gap and 4/5 of us have A- teammate grades.

However, getting banned cause my internet sucks? No way bro. Banned cause I’m a 86 ovr up against a Purple 92 ovr in the theater and graded out? Like what did you expect to happen when you have such a stark mismatch and they’re stealing the ball over and over again.

between open shots and shots contested at 30-40% there shouldn't be that much difference in my opinion, in real basketball sometimes an unmarked shot is more complicated than a shot with the hand in the face

Not easily but at least if you master your shot timing you should have a chance on making though shots, in play now online you don't practice timing shot of every player so even make a 20 % contested shot become too hard, I would like to have the chance to make those shots with the best players in the NBA, also now on defense you don't even need to jump, just right stick up nearby shooter and is always a miss, no one need to jump, at day one it was different, because to properly contest you had to jump and this is real basketball

wouldn't be bad for higher rated shooters. Seems they failed again with realistic shot contest. I downloaded the game bc it's free this weekend. played like 3 games and I'm over it. U can't do anything against AI. They stand 5 ft away from you and get 40% contest. Centers vs short guards at the rim, if u don't dunk, high contest. Hook shots are non-existent. Played with Jokic vs Houston. They weren't even holding their hands up, 90% contest on hook shots.

Yes it was much better at day 1 then they made a patch tightening the contest on shots and now everything it's contested and it's sad because they could make the game like more realistic but then people complain because they don't want to play the game at the most competitive way. Passing the ball only if there is an open passing lane or at least have to make the right pass (lob, bounce) to be successful, no everyone pass the ball like it is Pinball. Defende the ball when you have a defender in front while dribbling. Now steal exist just in bugged situations, come on ball handlers must defend the ball with L2. Have the small guards be able to blow by slower centers. Against AI there aren't mismatches at the perimeter

I would say now that they removed the speeds up on contested shot against AI it's a bit better, yesterday I was hitting some satisfying shots like contested mid's jumpshots with Donovan Mitchell and if you use the layup meter you'll be able to hit some though layups and hooks, I had fun offline since so many years... But then obviously on offense AI it's always the same doesn't matter who you are defending they do always the same

Yes and all that delete from the game almost at all: fly by, shooting fouls on jumpshots, blow by on close outs, a decent amount of and 1 situations, midrange game because it's too hard to be wide open in the midrange area... Makes the game always same. With real nba players: find mismatch in Post, pass the ball until you get wide open (even passes that should be always turnovers ) make 100 screens and use only the best players because everyone else is trash like they never played basketball.

To answer your question though, RT/R2 and the right stick integrate your speed boost INTO your dribble moves and combo escapes. So basically, it will just naturally activate speed boost as you move with the left stick and RT/R2 as you do the “correct” dribble combination.

The animation will often seem subtle, so it won’t seem like you speed boosted but you did.

2k24’s pro play is also so intuitive that, it’s easier to cancel out of stuff. So you can do the cross over escape, then immediately push the left stick in the opposite direction. It’ll look a lot clunkier because it’s not a natural move in momentum compared to doing so with a crossover escape then behind the back combo. But it still works.

To me it's weird. I was playing offline and playing with real players percentage where you just hit the button when you're wide open and I made the shot. But when I play with the shot timing and I'm wide open and I take the same exact shot. Somehow my timing is late. I kind of liked it better when we could use the real players percentage online

Screens this year are about OP. Not in the sense the screens themselves, because they serve an important purpose and do so well.

But anyone who’s played the rec probably noticed the pick and roll combo most PG’s are using is; the over sized center sets the pick on the defender, then the pg just behind the back spams till the defender is eventually forced out of position for the open shot…. Just to brick.

I digress. My point, and complaint here is there should be more support for the on ball defenders. Especially ones who actually have pick dodger. If they’re going to spam brick wall on me, and I have gold pick dodger, I shouldn’t be stumbling or completely frozen on the pick while the guard gets a wide open shot. Buff pick dodger or something atleast.

Cause it wouldn’t make sense to nerf brick wall, and players should get punished for reading the pick and roll incorrectly when guarding the ball handler. But I should not be punished for reading the screen correctly as the on ball defender.

It’s a problem when guards, really anybody, can go into the rec or pro am on their little 6’5 and under builds, call for a screen, then drain out the clock trying to get open — just to brick the wide open shot off the dribble. It’s embarrassing. But the times when those types of players DO hit their shots off the pick and roll; Correctly guarded off the pick and everything, and still make it? Cmon it’s too cheesy.

I’m not asking for them to buff unpluckable. Just help out the regular guard that has dedicated their points to defense to avoid that situation in the first place only to get spammed and bullied by a broken mechanic of the game.

Kinda depends on the kinda defense you’re trying to improve. Jerseymade93 has a pretty good on ball defense video with some solid tips on spacing, reading the offense, and reacting.

Some takeaways: Watch the kind of player the handler is; are they aggressive, do they look to pass more, or are they looking more to slither away and create space for a shot. Their tendencies will help you adapt to kind of defensive pressure you need to apply

the shooting feels inconsistent but i also feel like my 3pt rating doesn’t matter. i made a 99 3pt build and i can’t shoot at all in the park/rec. i’m averaging 25-30%. i’m already gonna probably see people tell me that i suck or to get good. it’s the common phrase towards people complaining abt the shooting, but i know it can’t be me just being bad because i’ve shot well in previous years and i shoot well in the mycareer nba games, it just feels like the cues don’t line up with the release point. in theatre games for release visual cue, timing the green window was when the ball was 2 inches over my head (i took 3 videos and slowed them to make sure), but mike wang said the release point is supposed to be 2 seconds before the ball leaves your hand, so i knew something was up. also, i turned on meter once to see what the timing was like and while i was hitting the green window i was getting different feedbacks. it just feels like my 99 3pt is negligible; i got the 99 to make shooting easier and to make the green window bigger but then i found out each shot has their own green window regardless of 3pt rating. so what is the point of having a 99 3pt?? it’s just confusing and i hope they have a solution. most of the ppl playing this game come home after work or school and just wanna vibe and have fun, and when you make shooting this precise and demoralizing, it takes away from the fun of the game.

man you’re absolutely right i feel like the shooting changes were made with 2 priorities in mind

  1. make sure top 5% can’t hit every single shot
  2. make sure people who use zens can’t hit every single shot

i understand these priorities but i feel like there should’ve been a solution to solve those problems without the expense of the entire casual community to struggle with shooting. from my personal experience i haven’t played with or against anyone using a zen, so i guess my opinion on that is diminished, but i know it can be really frustrating to play against somebody who can perfectly time their shot everytime. my thing is, in 2k22 they did shooting perfectly. i don’t think whites should’ve went in, but i loved that a 99 3pt actually made you a lethal shooter with the occasional full bar, and i loved that the timing to shoot actually lined up with the visual cue.

i also liked tyceno’s idea of making park/rec the “casual” zone where ppl can just have fun and shoot well and then make a specific pro am or competitive stage where the top players really want to prove that they’re the best; i feel like this would satisfy both worlds. but as of right now, i don’t have fun playing; i feel like i have to force myself to log on and play. i had the most fun with 2k22, if they made shooting like 22 but without whites going in i would be very happy

i have issue with the broadcast camera in REC , after the new season and the new court there were issues with the trees in the corners so the fix of this was to make further zoom into the court , that been done now i cant see the corners at all cant see the players in the limitless when the ball is near to the paint , generally cant play because the vision is very limited even if i have zoom 1 and high 10, do we know if there is going to be a fix of this and go back to how broadcast use to be ?
