Laser is easily avoided by the majority of characters just by standing or walking and outright loses to every projectile even when charged, he can’t reliably kill until like 140 while everyone else kills at 100, his combos are extremely precise and deal less damage than easier character’s combos, and he doesn’t have a lot of range outside of utilt and uair (off cooldown)

I think that when they planned Rick the didn't thought if the abilities could combo easily or between each other, they just grabbed every reference they could and expect to player to combo somehow with it.

The problem is that Rick only works with the portal and player can dominate just one combo.

Without the perk, you get jab 1,2 -> portal -> dair -> sair

Yeah, Rick high difficulty doesn't gives a fair reward. The worst part is that Rick isn't difficult just because he is a challenge as a character, he is easy, he is just "difficult" because all his kit off abilities barely or doesn't interact at all.

He just have random Cooldown abilities that are projectiles with very weird and awfuk interactions. And all his melee has a stupid small hitbox.

He doesn't feels like the always prepare multi gadget unstoppable force.

The character just use basic gadgets seen in the series. Rick is much more than that.

He could have other attacks while the others are in Cooldown.

Ok so the cancel window if you hit dair is super small meaning you can jump instantly and dair again, so if you do jab 1 -> jab 2 -> boom box into jump dair 1, and they ground bounce, you can quickly jump and get another dair for free while they are still stuck in hitstun, then you can follow-up with a free upair or sair follow up. Does like 40+ dmg with snowball, 5%, and pugilist. I've noticed too that if you are close enough to the ground after the second dair, you can jab combo them again and do the exact same thing again. Note that this only works at low - mid percents, because at 80%+, the boom box sends them too far up. Sometimes though, if their % is too low, they won't ground bounce after the first dair, meaning you can't do this combo, but it's guaranteed mid percents 25% -> 70%

But it seems like if the opponent DIs out of the boom box, it won't confirm into dair :/ tough

I’ve seen a lot of characters have aspects of their kit that make them unique removed or nerfed heavily in a lot of patches, they’ve turned shaggy from a combo centric brawler to a brainless kill move masher, they gutted Steven’s bubble, a completely unique ability that had clear counter play and created exciting gameplay, especially in doubles, they got rid of stripes gunshot techs that made him fun to play and watch, I’ve seen a lot of characters be hurt pretty bad in a way that makes the game less enjoyable for the people playing them and a lot of times even the people playing against them.

And make the stereo counts as a projectile.

I think some good buffs for stripe would put gunshot back how it was, remove the cooldown for dynamite but keep the ammo count, and although giving stripe 2 buzzsaws would be neat, that might be a bit much, so I think a better option would be to make it last longer and make it at LEAST destroy other projectiles while colliding with them, maybe even beat out some weaker ones. Another good QOL change would be that shooting a buzzsaw that has been reflected by an opponent would make it yours again. I thought stereo was in a good spot, Ftilt stereo dynamite was a kill confirm if you could read DI and you could get stereo sair on DI out and stereo Up air on DI in, but since even with these most recent changes whatever DI will net you the same follow-ups as before, I don’t think these recent stereo changes really helped him literally at all.

I was trying the "weaken at 125" since I often surpass that threshold anyway but then again I'm down a perk for half the fight

• Dynamite sig, weaken 125, weaken 100, pugilist
• Dynamite sig, snowball, 2fast, armor killer (mostly for WW)
• 5%, walking projectile, 2 fast, pugilist (mostly for Bugs, haven't used it much past nerfs)
  But I think it could make sense to have a set for IG, might put the 125 on the WW set and make it a WW/IG set and then put snowball on the 1st set.

Personally, I love Stripe. I’m a huge fan of the character and how he plays, but he needs to be buffed
In a world where Wonder Woman, black Adam, and Harley Quinn can use the same moves again and again without punishment to deal 50 damage easy, stripe has to work for 30
While this is possible and does add to the chaotic-ness of the character, it leads into his next main issue: kill moves

Stripe has many moves that can kill, these being up ground, side ground special, up air, occasionally up air special, and the gun
However, most of these moves simply do not work as intended
With the long cooldown + ability to be dodged, the gun is unreliable
Ground side special has absurdly long end lag on top of being slow, which leads to other characters just having better options (Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, etc) making it easy to avoid and ignore
Up ground can kill sometimes as the final hit will connect about 50% of the time
And while up air and up air special are good, they rarely kill unless at high percent
Compound this with Stripe being light, it leads to him dying at 90 while his opponent is at 160

One other main issue is that of the chainsaw
Ever since the last patch, the chainsaw doesn’t seem to hit as reliably, seeming to either pass through or scrape the opponent
This leads to another of his best moves being made useless

Finally, his jab feels weirdly slow compared to the rest of his moves and other members of the cast
It feels like it should come out instantly, but there is a large delay with the first hit, leading to other characters beating it without fail

To conclude, I love Stripe. I watched Gremlins when I was a kid and his moveset is chaotic and fun, but playing ranked made me realize that he doesn’t really stand a fair chance against most of the cast, and that breaks my heart
If Stripe does not get parts of his moveset fixed, I fear that he may fall behind and become left in the dust

Nah, stripe's attacks being slow is one of his weaknesses, and I think it's important for a character to have clear and defined weaknesses

Stripes moves are slow and he struggles to kill, and while those are hefty weaknesses, gun and cancelling it was the best way to mitigate those weaknesses, which is why removing it was such a huge deal.

Gun can help but at the same time I think some of the kill issues can be solved by just tweaking the moves

I was thinking that while combos are in general harder to pull off in 2v2, Stripe combos feel harder since they often require uptilt leaving you stationary and have smaller hitboxes.
Compared, off the top of my head, to Bugs whose nair rotates so it's harder to get close or Superman whose jab while stationary also (for some reason) hits from behind.
And of course, aerial ladders in general are safer and harder to interrupt.

I mean, knowing when to disengage a combo is crucial to 2v2, but as Stripe I gotta do it far more often.

If you know what you are doing, you can read to any dodge with upspecial, but if you have to know your opponents habits because they could very well attack out of hitstun instead of dodging

Character has slower options than stripe, which gets rid of stripes biggest weakness of having slower options than his opponents, is absolutely huge and can be combo’d forever, gray health can be dealt with really easily if stripe is running armor crush, like as long as you’re being patient and not running in with poor approach options then you shouldn’t be losing the game

It seems like all Jason can really do in this game is punish stupid approaches, and he’s good at that, but what happens when you don’t make stupid approaches anymore

Jason kinda sucks and I feel people only really lose to him because they’re impatient and go for greedy approaches where he can capitalize off of your overextension

If you run away and camp out Jason and focus on whiff punishing his slow options, you’ll destroy him

Jason also A-poses in his falling animation meaning he’s extremely easy to juggle and your combos are far more consistent compared to slim characters like Arya
