Not really. Personally I'd recommend smash, but even that scene is dwindling a bit. And smash ult's netcode is very trash

Melee is very worth if you have good reaction timing and already own a gc controller. It's the best competive smash game and a lot of it has to do with its online scene still being alive (they basically couldn't run offline tourneys during covid times so they fixed online play in turn)

There's a lot of platform fighters (what mvs was) that aren't smash also that are very valid honestly. Brawlhalla has the biggest player base/scene out of all of em. After that there's Nick All Stars 2, A Few Quick Matches, Rivals of Aeher 2, and super smash flash 2. To name a few

Mvs was a very 1 of 1 game tho so to your answer question in brief, sadly no (even tho they ripped so much stuff from other games, including a lot of stuff from smash itself)
