I don’t want to play this game in this state. But they force rewards we can’t get otherwise in the form of ranked skins. I really want them mainly because they are free and some look cool, but the game’s servers are not ready enough to handle ranked, let alone the base online options. I feel like half of my loses were not from me being an idiot or playing with someone with more skill, but rather from the laggy server connection and the new anti-d/c system they put in place. I feel like even if PFG themselves just give me the ranked skins, they just wouldn’t be worth the it in any form. I just want them to do better, to be better than what they have given us so far in this after-“beta” release. Just please, PFG devs, don’t just leave the game in its current state, extend Season 2 if you need more time to fix the servers, just don’t try something like this again for Season 3. Dude. What the hell is wrong with these devs? EVERY TIME there is a patch something breaks. I have done at least 15 Ranked 1v1s but some of them are not counting towards the progress of the Ranked Weekly missions. I taunted over 20 times during my last match and it only counted 1 towards the weekly mission. This happens all the bloody time with these game. Why are they releasing broken challenges? Whey are they releasing broken modes? Why does LeBron get a nerf but Joker doesn't get touched. I know they care about this game, genuinely I know they do. But how can they expect people to keep pouring time into this game if they keep breaking stuff?

Ranked matchmaking could really use some work. I just started playing ranked today and am in bronze and have only played people in gold and higher, even played a diamond player who was almost master. Not sure how it decides matchups but this feels horrible. Placement matches, or at least a more heavily rank based matchmaking would be useful imo.

I'm officially done with ranked. Made it to top 109 giant so I'm pretty proud of that. Here's my complaints: your matchmaking system is arbitrary and needs reevaluated, mmr system is not being implemented properly. The disconnect, lagspikes, and errors in netcode are forcing loss and that is in no way conducive to competitive play. I understand your last patch fixed the bo3, but now you've got people who unplug/alt f4 their way out of the rematch leaving everyone stuck in lobbies (or suffer rp loss). This leads me to the balance issues. In the last patch there were no nerfs to either finn or joker. Both of these characters have true 0-death combos and i have video proof of them. I understand that you wanted to release a new character, (and I've said this before here) but why would you allow him into ranked immediately, please don't make this mistake with Beetlejuice. I'm not entirely upset with your rifts this round and especially the jack door opening one shows the potential of rifts in general. Thanks for hearing me out (or not) and i look forward to competitive ranked and not whatever nonsense we had rushed at us in place of it.

It's because they dodged it. The way the game works is if you dodge a single hit attack, you can't be hit by it at all, even if you dodge in to the hitbox. It tracks them because it programmed to, but it can't hit them because they've already dodged it

Iron giants side special works the same way

If you dodge away from iron giant doing his shoulder bash, you can't be hit by it even if it's held down and he catches back up to you

Any single hit attack, even if it's a lingering hotbox, only has to be dodged once. It's like it makes you immune to the attack all together if the game registers that you dodged it

Multi hit attacks do not work the same way, if you dodge the first hit but are still in range, the second hit will hit you.

A perfectly timed dodge can dodge both hits of an iron giant neutral air, but it has to be like frame perfect almost, and that's because when the second hit hits you, you're still technically in the dodge animation unless you did a dodge cancel

That's not a 50% increase, that's almost a 500% increase.

When my OPPONENT disconnects after I win, I not only get NO reward for a victory listed as a victory in the match history (so it clearly is recorded properly), I also am given a -10 RP penalty and timed out from matchmaking. This on top of the issues for solo 2v2 players (I am regularly matched with Gold IV and below against Master I players despite being Diamond II and there seems to be not mitigation on RP loss for that despite when I have a master tier player on my team I only ever gain single digit RP).

Not trying to just complain here, but listing these as grievances because I want the game to get better. 2v2 is clearly the focus of the game (which I very much like) but the experience for people trying to play 2v2 ranked as an individual player is pretty terrible right now. Bo3 has also worsened this, because if you are in the situation where you get matched with a teammate 5 tiers below you who dies 4 times you are faced with the decision to either try and suffer through this match and likely take approximately a -20 RP loss, or to eat the 10 RP penalty and disconnect. I try not to do this because its unsporting, but the fact it is the clear "rational" decision to make indicates an underlying problem with RP rewards and penalties such that the game actually incentivizes players to alt+f4 at times.
