And about event that some of them also need require certain skins, i suggest to "focus on completing the missions as much as you can", if you skip like 1-2 missions from event, i'm sure you still can get the skin.

With all the moves all characters feels unique and like they wanted everyone to ve their own identity
And the copy and paste skins are meh...
This kind of game needs meh skins too so the good ones can look even better

You will still be able to dodge, but the enemy will be able to hit you while doing it

Yeah BG has virtually NO combos, so he's really just playing extended periods of neutral like a swordie in smash if you understand what I mean. Granted he's better than most at this since he can actually kill off of single hits with slight effort. I really like how consistent he feels when used well but the low skill floor/ceiling leaves much to be desired

That’s something I’ve been struggling with on this game. There’s moves on characters that are extremely difficult to whiff punish. I have to remind myself to pay attention to what they do after they whiff, and be ready to punish that instead of the move itself.

One of the main negatives of a 'heavy' character is supposed to be a larger hit box, and larger hitbox = easier to hit = gets combo'd. this is the negative thats supposed to be in place in exchange for getting to hit super hard or etc and just being generally harder to kill. Instead of this. IG has a move that completely denies the first part of this downside (on a cooldown, but not a particularly long one), then combined with the fact that a ton of his moves have very odd cancel windows and he's really agile on some moves. fair/nair completely jack up his hurtbox and make him odd to hit while also threatening to kill you at 0-30%. so he ends up breaking the risk/reward factor quite heavily when he can just decide "i want to win this interaction"

I'm personally super worried for game. The player base keeps bleeding off super quick. We're already down to 6,000 players a day on steam. Which is embarrassing seeing as how Brawlhalla has 14,000+.

Tangentially related, but... I kinda feel like, for event rewards, instead of getting a specific skin you get, like, a consumable item that lets you pick out from the set of skins that are released during the event?

Like, maybe no purple or gold rarity skins, I could understand not including those. But for the ones like the masked character sets, you know?

The random drops are fine as well, I think that this shark week event is a cool way of doing it. But I mean more like the Batman v Joker and Jason events

I don't think it's bad to only get one skin per event per se, but I do think you should take your pick of selecting a specific skin out of the event out of a selection.

it would be nice but it makes sense from engagement point of view
this way it has a gacha element (which even tho it's hated, people are still engaged...take a look at genshin)
and it will make you wanna come back each day hoping for what you want

the only thing i dont like is they are clearly ensuring that you gotta log in every single day and do every event, or you will miss out on stuff and make it more difficult for future events

you only need to log in the last day or so to do the missions. The event missions compound, like the weekly missions do, until the event ends.

It could definitely still use some work though. It's a bit scuffed.
