I feel like multiple channels for the same topic on some subjects (like venting and motivation) on a massive server like this would be a good idea. There are times where I seek help but the message gets forgotten really quickly and nobody ever really sees it. When you have introduced yourself, make a channel so that you can maybe be partnered with someone else (an other type of partnering which already is a channel) that like the other person needs your help with like science, and you are good at science, but you need help from the other person because you are bad at french (and that person is then French or is just really good at french). I believe the channel requires better moderation. Its quite clear that the channel is becoming more of a conversation channel rather than a review channel.

'Librarian' Role
I believe a solution for this is to elect active readers to behave as 'librarians' (Role title may be subjecte to change).

Essentially 'librarians' are localised moderators who only have control over the book-review channel. This would lessen the workload of the current moderation team and establish #literature-club as a regulated channel that is semi-independent of moderators.

However, I'd argue that students should focus on their main curriculars first. It's already bad enough that a large number of students have problems concentrating but introducing a fun category in an educational server would get even more students side-tracked from focusing on their studies.

You might argue that the server has non-educational channels such as the venting or art-showcase. But, mind you that students won't spend a lot of time in these channels as opposed to your suggedtef mafia-bot and or Mudae channels.

I would also like to counter your argument by stating the fact that there are other ways to improve critical thinking apart from the above mentioned game bots. In addition to that, it is not necessary for these bots to be on the server as the server's primary concern is assisting students with their work and assignments as well as to guide students in the college admission process.

The second reason is that channels such as general or misc can already serve such purpose leading to a region channel being ultimately useless. On top of that, threads can also be made for brief conversations.

Your new suggestion is a good idea, but is pretty impossible to do if you look into how discord roles work. Discord only displays the role colour/icon of your highest role, so if people have multiple helper roles, only the colour/icon of their highest helper role will be displayed. Also different colours/icons all over the place will ruin the simplistic nature of the server.

The problem with a debate channel and the reason why so many servers prefer not to have one is that not everyone knows the proper etiquette for debates.

Often times, these online debates consisting of a soup of random strangers can end up in mindless and unnecessary arguments.

Some people will argue based on their personal beliefs and preach about falsehoods. The reasonable people would then fall into the trap of arguing with these individuals.

Eventually, the whole channel will be in schism as multiple groups arise, each with their own separate beliefs and arguments.

We can't afford to have a debate channel because moderators are not always there to keep these debates in line.

By the time a moderator or two log on, the debate might have spiralled out of control or have died down.

There is the argument that in most cases the debates would run smoothly with every member respecting each other and following proper etiquette.

However, all it takes is just one bad apple to start an entire argument. Just one troll to ignite several hundred messages of insults and hatred.

In my opinion, I would prefer to avoid or at least minimise these scenarios from playing out. Other moderators have similar opinions. Hence why we will not allow a debate channel to be implemented on the server.

Major Additions:
**1. Weekly puzzles and challenges: **Every week, a staff member will upload logic puzzles/brain teasers. For the day, members will be able to create a ticket (separate from staff support tickets) or message a staff member their answers. The winners could receive a role titled something along the lines of “Puzzle Solver.”
**2. Events discussion channel: **As the server has had a lack of events and fun activities recently, members could suggest and discuss event ideas and synthesize them together in order to host the best events possible.
**3. Awards discussions: **Awards, which don't exactly fit into the "extracurriculars" category, may have their own channel. Many awards might not be tied to extracurricular activities, thus they might have their own channel where users could talk about all different kinds of awards, how to receive them, etc.
**4. College help channel: **College help doesn’t really fit under “misc help,” so a channel for general college advice and assistance would be great.

Basic Additions and Changes:

1. move #old-features to the matchmaking category
2. move #study-tips to the school advice category
3. arts-help channel: for members asking for help in performing arts, visual arts, poetry, musical arts, etc.
4. Merging channels together: there are a lot of channels that may be unneeded, or could be merged with other channels of similar purposes.

I wasn't there when this was a discussion but I believe I understand the reason behind the suggestion's rejection. I think there is no point in having a role higher above Regular.

I mean- what would you add? Theres only 3 people in this server who are lvl 100 so there is no functional purpose, as DM said, for the creation of further level roles. /goal message - The message would be turnt into a goal, a bot or something would be sending an image
