Demon's Souls was the first game Schnoz ever got for the PS3. It was fun. And yeah Schnoz had a ton of great hours with it. But playing the Remake, it fixed almost all the issues the original had. Not sure if you found your answer but you have to clear all three abyssal portals next to the old man in the wheelchair I forgot the name of (he gives you the Pilgrims of the Dark covenant). There is one under Drangleic Castle, one in the Shaded ruins and one in the Black Gulch. Once you cleared the three you can face him at the end of any of the three abyssal portals (the Drangleic Castle one is the closest to a bonfire for your information)
