There’s a couple of ways

You can either ||find snow stalker caves where there’s fur bits lying around|| or you can ||stand away from the adult(s) a bit and use spy pengling to grab it off them or the kiddos||

if you ask me I still find SN1 rather scary sometimes. like specifically the areas where it gets really dark in open waters. it's like even tho I know what creatures are around it's still unsettling. there's just something about that dark open space. BZ doesn't really have that cause the map is also smaller. but I mean BZ is more story focused and I think they also choose to make it less about being scary and more about being a story. so in all realty I would agree that they shouldn't be compared cause one is also a full game and the other a DLC

I think one of my biggest complains about BZ is that cryptosuchus has one of the loudest and scariest roars in the game considering they're really just the BZ version of a bone shark. not much more dangerous than that. I feel like they didn't quite give the cheli and shadow the roars they deserved. made them a lot less scary tbh

good luck. I used my prawn with no arm attachment and a grappling arm so I could hold on to it. still, it kept swimming away when I was hitting it so I slowly ran out of thrust so I had to go down to the ground to refuel sometimes. or grab on to an iceberg

Yeah…I stayed away from squid sharks (I love scanning for everything) but for the chelicerates I was just reckless

But the way to counter chelicerates is to swim in circles

They're like much less scary reapers with even lower IQ

Squidsharks are even less scary. You can make them your friend by swimming above it's back. Their ai just won't chase you if you keep above and close

Also I just found the ||glacial basin|| map, though I don't know how to use this particular one.

I wouldn't really say squidsharks are dangerous if you have a seatruck close, however if you have a seatruck or prawn suit at least 100 meters away then yeah, they're dangerous. In terms of being scary in general however, I find squidsharks scarier than chelicerates because they're mostly likely to jumpscare me and eventually destroy my seatruck, while chelicerate leviathans are barely in any locations resulting in that I can't get scared because I can't even find them at all

Based on my knowledge of below zero, wherever you find Chelicerates, there's always something of importance under him.

I've played subnautica below zero around 6 and I can confirm that, there is one chelicerate swimming above a shipwreck that is stuck on an enter to a cave with precursor artefact, one is swimming above a disabled volcano that has another precuror artefact and there is one chelicerate swimming above a leviathan that i aleardy forgot name of

They're much less manoeuvrable than squidsharks so you can avoid them relatively easily anyway - killing them is like destroying a beacon
