i think it's that, in ||pda entry "captain badass" Diana says that platfrom shot at them with ion laser, but she was able to do maneuver mercury 2, so laser didn't hit it, but she said she was able to do so by "firing emergency flares and dumping water from nuclear core", and after that they decided to land, so probably either because of dumping water sth got broken and had to be repaired, or just simply laser was so powerful it did destroy ship a little||

those pdas are and its whole story is little confusing, so if you dont understand ||mercury 2 first gets shot but diana does a maneuver and laser misses it, then they repair it, discover a little of planet and get infected with kharaa, then there's emergency takeoff, but platform again shoots them, hitting and splitting mercury in half, then there's yasmine talking about stefanos helping her and that she will get them out but they probably die||

of maybe in subnautica Above 123 ||there will again be a survivor as of yasmine, just like in bz marguerit||

I’m not sure about fish, probably most of them are decent for the bio. Fevered peppers aren’t too bad I’ve heard. The root pustules are the best iirc, but they don’t respawn. I’ve used gel sacks before, I think those ribbon plants are pretty good too

The range is already at max, so applying range upgrades only increases the hologram (this is also glitched in Subnautica as well, I don’t think the recent patches fixed it)

IDK if it is true, but it is my headcanon.
Both Robin and Al-an would be not in the best place mentally on their first meeting, hence why snapping on each other.
But that was The First Contact, and they both scientists specialized on alien life.

While playing game, ||al-an often shows that he doesnt understand nor know meaning of relaxation, fun or enjoyment, he was weirded out by Robin playing music, by her going to sleep and dreaming, by her showing different emotions, i think that they could some Time ago feel such things, but they advanced So much and So long ago, that they forgot such thing ever existed, their only goal in life became expanding, advancing, they deleted completely need for having fun or relax and forgot about it||

Firstly, as I mentioned, I think Al-an wasn't doing very well on moment of events.
He mentioned multiple times that they are Network, he struggled with concept of individualism and independence. In my opinion, this implies that they, as society (or as species!) used to live literally sharing all their thoughts together. He mentioned that they care and tend to each other's needs. It is interesting hive variation, because he never mentioned any sort of center - opposite so, he said something like "no voice louder then other"
Now imagine creature designed to live in constant noise of other's thoughts ripped out and left in a box for perhaps over thousand years.
How would you cope? Did he tried to seek comfort in rationalizing his situation and his views? Body is just body - easy thought when you don't have one.
I don't think he was in his normal social state. That why not-so-sensative to Robin's struggle

Secondary, situation from his perspective is VERY dodgy - he cannot control his temporary 'storage' and left fully on some aliens mercy

Third thing, he perhaps physically couldn't have emotions - those are executed chemically, and not only controls of his "temporary vessel" are new and convoluted, they also occupied by actual host.
He becomes waaay softer towards end of the game

And lastly - Al-an is specifically scientist. In OG subnautica, there was entry in one of sanctuaries about him. They put him in charge of this research facility because he was exceptional (enough to do the job). It wouldn't make sense then that all of their species are scientists.
There is a chance, that by architect's standards, Al-an is a huge nerd

As an aside, I did wonder if that data download in Subnautica was referencing Al-An. It said the being was “re-factored” after downloading some dodgy code (probably Minecraft mods), so I thought that might be Al-an, but was it definitely established that it was?

Because my sense was that they developed similarly to us, but after they networked themselves through technology and techno-bodies, that was when their individual sense of self was discarded.

Pros:
-amazing graphics
-weather is a cool idea
-more land is interesting
-design of organisms, especially leviathans was cool
-imo interesting Lore, explaining few things from sn 1

  -biomes designs were nice
  -more cute animals
  -whole lot more of interactions with animals
  -||liked idea of bringing back marguerit||
  -seatruck is an interesting idea
  -snowfox cool
  -liked big number of ||interesting alterra bases||

  Cons:
  -weather too often, cant Look at amazing view and is kinda annoying
  -smaller map, which is VERY visable
  -biomes are way smaller, or their role is limited to one thing and you never have to come there again
  -||phi mining site could have been bigger and more interesting||
  -slowed down swimming a lot
  -no upgrade to speed up seatruck
  -hoped to see some big open empty arctic biome with ||ice worms||
  -||ice worms werent as dangerous, never needed thumper cuz i was Just abke to ride with my seafox away from them, and they didnt chase||
  -||i think there should be some Conversation between marguerit and Robin who she didnt want to ask alterra to get her back to civilization, or generally more marguerit Lore and interactions||
  -||also marguerit should have had at least one more base, She was there for around 12 years and only built 2 small bases? ||

Not too long after Al-an gets in our head, he leaves entry in our pda, and later in the game writes another one ||'Hope' one||. So he can, somehow, interact with our pda but.. just doesn't? Or how one moment you can hear him showing some emotions, and on next location he's back to his snobbish tone

I too was surprised at how cool the vents were. Guess you have to go underneath to get the real heat.

But they aren’t cool, they’re hot. I stood on them with my prawn to double check, it has a temp gauge. Just no spot to build on them that works, usually the surrounding rocks worked or even the vent itself if large and flat. I couldn’t even place a foundation above them, the whole area seems to prevent building.

The save location differs depending on the launcher, but on Steam right click on the game in the library, properties, installed files, browse.

Enter SNAppData/SavedGames/slot00xx.

There is your CellsCache folder.

Again make sure the game is launched and you are in the main menu when you do it.

Otherwise Steam autocloud will just rewrite your corrupted file.

You can use the seatruck PDS potentially, plus all the creatures have attack cooldowns (I’m pretty sure, I know the leviathans and bigger predators do for sure so once they’ve attacked you once you have some time to scan)

Just as in Subnautica, I never had to kill anything (other than lilypaddlers, which respawn, because their effects could trigger migraines for me and therefore were annoying when I was basebuilding in lilypads so I ran them over😭). And occasionally a cryptosuccus because they got in my face. But that’s it really. Never felt any need to kill any leviathans

Best tip, everything is more specifically located.
In subnautica you can get most things in multiple places.
In subnautica below zero, you’re gonna need to go to very specific places for things you kinda either don’t need or may only use once.

And whilst that sounds annoying, and having to wait on the glass dome room is.
It’s still rewarding

All I can say is, it’s exploration, just on a micro scale
