The other two you don't get beacons for. You only get hints. One is deep, the other is on land, far up north of it. When you get near one, Al-an speaks. But when I'm launching the game via Steam, its like its charging, and stop instant. I've try to check the files integrity and steam told me thats ok. Al-An will stop giving clues after a time, and you don't get clues for everything. If you get close to something important he will give vague hints.

honestly theres a lot of things I didnt like about bz compared to original sn
for one, the level design as you mentioned. Theres no deep cave system that winds down and down basically making you feel like theres no way to get out if something goes wrong. Adding onto this the map is so much smaller that it makes you feel like you know the map (because you do) within the first few hours of playing compared to in Sn1 taking hours to figure out some of the base biomes only

the other thing is how annoying the seatruck is compared to any other vehicle in sn universe. The seamoth was fast and nimble but sucked for long term trips, the cyclops was slow and hard to manuver but you were able to build and live inside of it. The seatruck just takes the worst of both worlds, being hard to use in long term trips and being hard to manuver with lots of modules.

and its also just the leviathans for me. They are so much more aggressive in bz for some reason, its like they target you and only you. And then theres the crypto thing that just screams from everywhere in the map

thing is the subnautica leviathans were easy to encounter early game and catch you by surprise, like the reaper if you wandered off too far by accident. but for BZ most leviathans were encountered in later stages of the game, which isnt exactly that bad but takes away the suspense and fear that subnautica had. BZ feels relaxed and chill, but subnautica had that vibe that always kept you alert and wanting to explore more. also BZ's map was wayyy too small, I memorized it in like 1h

also the shadow was easy to avoid because all you had to do was get used to their routes

The smaller map is a feature. It's not as much of an exploration game as SN. BZ is very story-based, and requires you to go back and forth. A larger map would be very annoying without faster vehicles, which in turn would mess up progression.

i meant it in like early game, sure you can be prepared against a leviathan but usually thats later in the game. BZ was way too "relaxed" in terms of environment, i actually somewhat liked the vibe but it lacked suspense and fear

Subnautica is all about being prepared ahead of time so that hurts your argument again below zero.

I don't know, the scarce leviathans made them individually much more threatening. A Reaper by itself wasn't that bad, but a biome with 10 of them was truly dangerous. A singular Chelicerate made a biome almost unreachable. Both games prepare you enough before meeting all leviathans.

made it so i couldnt basically finish the game in my seamoth

Doing some online article work about wide games vs deep games, wide games apparently is easier to figure out with its controls while deep games are harder to grasp or something.

The first aggressive leviathan SN leads you to is the Reaper, but by then you already unlocked the Creature Decoy (it's carefully placed in a safe area BEFORE you meet the danger, while also warning you about it)

Well, people handicapping themselves and then failing are not the norm. I've watched some streamers playing the game for the first time and they actually read the PDA. Makes sense that people here don't, because they're here for a reason.

theres a difference between exploring with a purpose and just exploring for the sake of it

The game takes you to Lifepod 19, which is in a trench that directly leads you to the River if you follow it. If you somehow miss that, you get Degasi 500m, which has a River entrance if you keep going deeper. If you miss that too, you get Lifepod 2, which is right next to a huge entrance. Impossible to miss now.

Level design is phenomenal.
