When it happened to me, it always was the first save on an account, but the problem was there wasn’t enough data overall to make any statistically valid representations of things such as when the world streaming bug happened, or who it happened to and so on, not that I recall, and it happened to me several times across several platforms (I even played a version trying to log for it, but turns out that wasn’t going to work anyway). It’s very rare, and it seems to be even more rare now. The game just won’t save, so that’s why you want to save often so if the game stops being able to save you can force quit (your only option)

I told Slava the fix wasn't backported to BZ as it was fixed and known in SN. But even when it will, I don't know if it will ever be fixed on console as I don't think there is any plan to push an update there.

Finding artifacts "early" isn't a problem, at all.
As for body parts, only 1 gets a beacon

Voice lines that trigger when near something only trigger once. For example when going near Mercury 2 wreck parts for the first time you get pda message, but only the first time (once per each wreck part). If you don't place a beacon or otherwise memorize the location, it could be difficult to find them again.

Well, like in many many games, when you noclip into terrain you see the textures have only one side. You can grab things laying on the floor from inside texture no problem. But if you get back outside texture, in a closed room, with no way to clip into textures again, you will be stuck. These rooms have couple pieces of ore, but only grab them if you're going for 100% map mined. It is not easy.

Feels like the first game hit just the right formula for thalassophobia, exploration, environmental storytelling and beautiful landscapes and the second game seems to have been unable to replicate the factors that made the first one good

Available on pc - it saves your game every 10 minutes (configurable) into three rolling autosave slots. You get a warning message 30 sec before autosave.
So if your game crashes, power goes out, or truck bugged out, you can just reload latest autosave instead of wondering when/if you saved manually last time.

My first run through of BZ took 32 hours. That was me going in completely blind. Hadn’t watched any gameplay whatsoever beforehand. I was aiming to beat it as fast as possible too. Got stuck at some parts but didn’t use wiki. Didn’t really take much time building a huge base. Just one good enough to keep progression going

After playing the first subnautica, below zero felt a little easier to me imo. At least in terms of resource gathering. I almost always had an abundance of materials at the ready. Rarely did I need to build something and have to scavenge for more materials except for maybe one or two rarer items

I loved the story about the precursors and the sea emperor and how I got the help the baby emperors, and I really like discovering what happened to the degasi survivors

Exploring the environment was pretty fun too, all the different creatures and the excitements of finding out what they want to do to you

I think you'll like Below Zero, then. It focuses less on fear and more on beauty, and the story is central, if somewhat flawed.

Delta island is center of map, and has readily accessible thermal power (dive to the crevises near the dock)

I don't think you need to worry about spoilers in those sentences, but it's nice of you to consider. I don't think there's a single best place for a base, but the Thermal Spires could be a good option with that power source. I would suggest you use the lava geysers in the caves, however, not the spires themselves.

That's what I was suggesting. Power transmitters are not difficult to build, and each gives you 100 meters of reach. You do, however, need the first to be rather close to the power source.

Yes, that's how I would do it. The game makes it easy to tell how far a transmitter will reach.

Well yes, ||Al-an is the reason they're giving you stuff. But what they give is only 50 % random...normally they don't give for example diamonds||

I'm not sure where I read this but it worked for me with diamonds. Did a reasearch got this info from the wiki and I can confirm it worked. Wiki says: With relevant blueprints pinned, they can also offer Crystalline Sulfur, Diamond, Gold, Lead, Lithium, Magnetite, Nickel Ore, Ruby, Salt Deposit, Silver Ore, and Table Coral Sample.

They have a list of random things they give, and another list for pinned recipes. They cannot give everything, but some extra options for pinned recipes
