The reason I built it like I did is because in my last base, I built everything very spread out and then you have to walk forever to get to your Moon pools because they have to be on the edge so that they don’t bump into everything on your way out many Seamoth have died to such base bumping.

Oh right. Yea. I only use Seamoth myself. I just got ||Cyclops|| and I’m really let down. Too hard to used. Especially at night. Maybe if I changed from black and red some color that looks good in pitch black darkness, it would help.

Yeah, it hard to see something dark in dark water. I like to use a light green, so my stuff is easier to spot.

Cyclops is great, just learn what works and learn the movements, I love it. I make mine pink and light blue

Getting good at using the Cyclops is more a matter of map knowledge than piloting. You learn where you can and can't take it pretty quick.

I can't say I've had any issues finding mine. I guess because I have beacons on all the time.

It works great in daylight. At night and deep in Sparse Reef I could find it. But I couldn’t find the entrance. 😭

Honestly, the default chrome white colour is pretty nice for visibility

Pin points and experiments. I save before experiments as a precaution. If it works both ways then boom, I use that location. It's how I figured out how I fit through a location going deeper at my next parking spot in progression before L.R.

That is a bit much.

Back before we had the Large Rooms, Moonpools made for great central rooms in bases. I can't imagine a base that's mostly Moonpools though.

It’s also about spending time doing things inside your base too! Don’t feel like you gotta rush the story! Think about how your base operates ext and that will start to piece together the layout

It’s also about where you pick to build it

Second Deepest base on planet, "Riverside" was a nice little safe haven before establishment of the next base.

And the last, and deepest base on planet. Not far from lava castle, and within the scanner room's range. great spot for mining, Not as great for filming. the lava lizards wanna mess up anything but a remote camera. still, suppose that's them in their habitat.

so before the release of Subnautica 2 I went and played a little bit of the original. This is my base 9 hours in the game. Ive lost TWO SEAMOTHS (one to a reaper, one to a crabsquid) My goal was to fully complete the game before sub2 but seeing as I got scared of a ghost leviathan when I went for the cyclops depth module, I will not be doing it (yet) please rate and enjoy the photos of this base I worked so hard on. In the empty circular room is now also an aquarium that I forgot to screenshot so you will have to make do with the old screenshots (except for the entire base shot)
