I wish PDA had a Base tab that lets you check from anywhere in the world what resources each base you have has. Like, I'm more than a kilometer away from my base and I'm running out of space. I wanna know if I should stock up more on this or that material. I'll just check my PDA, see what resources my base is lacking. That'll be real helpful.

It'll also be nice, but idk if this is good idea, if vehicle dock functions could be managed from a moonpool console. Like inserting and removing power cells, accessing inventory of vehicles' attached lockers/haul chassis, and managing vehicles' upgrade modules, all from a moonpool console that can handle every vehicle docked to that moonpool. So maybe I got an extra large moonpool with 3 Tadpoles docked, each with lockers or different chassis attached, and I can manage all of them from one moonpool console.

Right now it's not good experience that when I'm in base, I have to very slowly and accurately aim my reticle to access the attached storage locker on the back of my scout tadpole. I'm using controller.

Most of the world-building for what we have seems pretty complete, I think that’s why the red barrier(void) doesn’t allow you to build out there because all of that will probably change. I wouldn’t worry too much about losing your base unless you’re built along the edge near the void. Which I’m sure they’ll still say hey we’re adding to this area heads up move your base

Do you think Subnautica 2 is much less terrifying than Subnautica 1 and should be a bit more "unpredictable"? In Subnautica 1, you could encounter a reaper by swimming (it would seem) through a normal biome, with no indication that anything might happen. Meanwhile, in Subnautica 2, ||the real threat, the Collector, only appears between zones 1 and 2, so you only encounter it once and can simply sneak past it, and again above the metal farm, but it serves more as a sort of scarecrow, as it's too high to attack the player swimming underneath. Currently, the bigger threats than the leviathans in Subnautica 2 are the poisonous plants in cave entrances and those small creatures guarding Angel Combs.||

you can get past the first collector really easily by just swimming by the surface of the water until you've gotten to the ||alien ruins||

I would try one of the performance mods to make sure it's actually playable. You have a desktop 1650 and not a laptop/mobile 1650, right? Mobile 1650 will melt.

@crystal plaza there are only two active biomods in the game atm as far as I know, but there are a bunch of passive ones you can get later that you need the ||bioscanner|| for.

I couldn't agree more. To be completely honest the reactions people gave were blinded by the amazement that there is a new subnautica game, so they're relishing over it instead of facing critiques and reality.

I will slightly disagree with you, I wouldn't call the story 'horrible', however, it is extremely, hilariously and blatantly similar to subnautica 1. I feel like it may not be the writers faults, but instead Krafton holding a leash on their creativity to avoid any possibility of the mess they did with below-zero to garuntee paychecks, because from the reactions everyone will suck up a blatant remaster of subnautica 1.

The parts they have added and used their creativity are completely lacking, and slice the feeling of isolation, mystery and exploration in half. The game feels like an audible book instead of a horror, mystery survival game, where the log files hold your hand instead of you discovering the planet for yourself. Sherlock holmes has less detective work than subnautica 2.

This isn't even touching on the bordem factor, if I wanted to listen to Sophia get excited over plantlife for 30 minutes in an unskippable cutscene, I would've watched 'The blue planet' by David Attenborough. It's lazy storytelling and removes the isolation feeling. It's like Christopher Columbus discovering the Americas except the city of New York already came and went, and every resident left detailed notes of the wildlife and geography.

Instead, what I think would've been riveting story telling would be a secretive solo mission (like travelling to exegol), extremely vague, uncertain, and instead of a cliche 'extinct alien civilization', it was an old human settlement with ancient advanced technology, maybe send to Frontier as part of a greater intergalactic conflict. That would've been a real mystery you slowly uncover, instead it's regurgitated subnautica 1 with a plot so predictable chatgpt could've come up with better.
