You actually can with at least the small ones! (haven't tested this on the big ones) With the axe, if you time it just right while they charge you, they will swim away and leave you alone for at least long enough to allow you to swim away. You also can do this with the resonator, and there's a biomod upgrade that stuns them for even longer.

Sadly, this is a lot harder to pull off with Nibblers, and the fact Nibblers come in groups makes this almost useless for Nibblers.

that would be acceptable, personally i think having no way to kill in a game about nature is really counterintuative, but if they're sticking by it, there needs to be some way to keep them away, otherwise building anywhere except the coral garden is gonna be a nightmare

I had the same problem. Restore your backup or do it manually in appdata/local/subnautica2. You just have to rename a .bkp file to .sav. you can try this too

1080p is why you're doing fine. The 9070xt was made for 1440p or low 4k, it shreds 1080p like it's nothing.

|| No, conduit crystals are different. They are found towards the ruins while the other ore is more off of the ruins. Conduit crystals are way more useful and white toned while the other ore is greener. ||

The NOA will lead you to black boxes, one of the blackboxes in the base on the edge of the hotzone will tell you where the keycode to get into the room of that base is. I suggest you get your tadpole before venturing further if you don't have it yet.

ue5 is not outright really bad, it can be extremely optimized however most devs (NOT UW) decide to let nanite do the work for them. ue5 has the tech to be more optimized than previous engines, however with the combined push for higher graphical fidelity and the increasing reliance of devs on tech to optimize for them, games often perform the same or worse than in previous engines. a game that looks like subnautica 2 would run HORRIBLY on the versions of unity that subnautica and below zero were based on

Hey everyone! I don't really speak English well, so I used a translator, but I just had to share this immersive UI idea for Subnautica 2 with you!

1. Suit Indicators & Free Look (Alt Key): It would be amazing to have a completely clean screen. Instead of overlay HUD, oxygen and depth could be on a glowing wrist gauge. We could hold the Alt key for a "Free Look" mechanic (moving the head independently) to look down at our wrist or look at our chest to check health status.
2. Vehicle Dashboards: For vehicles like the Tadpole, all crucial data (mini-holographic map, structural integrity, and battery) could be built directly into the steering wheel and console. Navigating through pitch-black waters between biomes by looking at physical gauges would feel incredible!

This would turn survival into a high-stakes tactical experience and make the Unreal Engine 5 graphics pop without any immersion-breaking numbers on the screen.

What do you guys think? Would you love a hardcore immersive mode like this?

Yeah it’s a pain but building it next to the base with the fabricator and storage makes it a bit easier, put together a checklist of materials to make a corridor, power generation and storage. All materials in the game are available in that biome so you can build from there if you don’t want to keep making return journies. I was able to fit all the necessary stuff in one inventory so it’s not too bad

For those struggling with the ||Collector leviathan|| had a flawless run getting to ||the ruins by skimming the floor with the tadpole + scout ray. Hugged the trench wall until I hit the bottom and it barely came near the sea floor.||

towards the tree, there will be an area with animals called needler mangos. you cant miss them, because theyre huge sharks that shoot darts at you. all around their territory are darts lodged in the rock. look for the big ones that show up as mineral deposits. they have big white teeth sticking out of them.
