The Leviathans aren't (known to be) sentient, you as the player are however and are thus discouraged from violence, you are encouraged to avoid and co-exist with the other creatures which the game gives you plenty of tools for, because you become part of the eco system after crashing

there are plenty, you just have to make sure there is a source of power near your base (hydro, thermal, etc) until you can make a grow bed which will allow you to use the bio generator. My main base is near the spawn like most but I've built two checkpoint bases with a tadpole dock and essential indoor machines. One is at the research outpost beyond the leviathan and one is near the green area by the shipwrecks these are all 800m from each other

I'm of the philosophy that the larger and more hostile wildlife should only be retaliated against in a non lethal way. Hunting and gathering for food is necessary for survival, but having a reliable and consistent way of getting rid of a threat is not exactly how I would go about the game.

Predators become a non-issue when you progress. I argue even Leviathans aren't even an issue if you know how to avoid them.

I won't go for a means of killing them. I already have an idea for a deterrent to assert dominance. It's a tool you can use to get the larger predators and leviathans to leave you alone for a bit, but they will re-aggro on you after a while.

Just to cover a couple of your points, it's worth noting that two of the things you mentioned there are later in the progression of SN1 than we are at at the end of the game currently in SN2. FSR is coming soon, I have an AMD card myself I know how important it is. Not sure what you think is missing from the map compared to SN1 though can you elaborate? Not gonna lie, a lot of those issues stem from a lack of knowledge on how games are developed. You can’t bring a lower res model into a higher res medium without basically redoing it to begin with (unless you use AI which would also generate hate). FSR will be enabled. FOV will be enabled. Some of those tools don’t play well when released onto many different combinations of PC hardware and so they limit them and roll them out so they can collect baseline data first and make sure that’s not causing the issue and then implement them so if there is an issue it’s easier to find the source and correct.

My game must be bugged then because when I initially approach the bloom, I shoot all the mini blue blooms around it, and it says it is clear. Heyy, so I’m having trouble with a bug. The blue power line doesn’t show up when I connect the energy transmitter, only the green one appears while building. Honestly I can understand the frustration with a lack of being able to hunt food or defend yourself. I'm personally fine with it, but the part that's most jarring to me is when you accidentally ram into a fish and your ship just kinda gets bumped. That, and it seems like most of the creatures don't even hurt eachother, either... though I'm assuming this will probably be added later cuz the game DID just release
