Actually I definitely second that idea. I think the mangos are in some really beautiful and open areas good for a base, but they can be a little annoying when like 5 keep biting you, so a little thing you build and stick on top your base to deter hostile creatures would be cool.
And actually I think the reverse could be interesting too - like a way to attract small fauna to catch them easier

Common bug in some games. I have 4k desktop at 150% scaling. Running the game makes it looked zoomed in to the upper quadrant. Only way I can fix without changing in game settings is to set desktop scaling to 100%

i would try TSR if possible im on TSR performance preset and mines jumped from 30 on medium settings to 60fps on medium at 1440p and it still looks and feels great

Hello,

I’m having an issue when launching Subnautica 2 (via Epic Games Store).

When I try to start the game, I get this error message:

“DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.”

However, my PC does support DirectX 12.

My system specs:

Graphics card: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
DirectX version: 12 (verified using dxdiag)
Windows is fully up to date
Intel graphics drivers are up to date

I already tried several fixes:

removing launch options (-dx11, -dx12, etc.)
verifying game files through Epic Games
updating/reinstalling Intel drivers
deleting the game’s configuration files
reinstalling DirectX (installer says a newer version is already installed)

But the issue still persists.

The game refuses to launch and claims DirectX 12 is not supported, even though my GPU and system do support it.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

Im loving subnaitica 2, but gosh not being able to kill literally anything kinda makes no sense, wouldnt survivors WANT to kill to survive? Like hunting for food/hunting aggressive (smaller) fauna? Raft (early to mid game) did a good job of this i think, you hunted smaller creatures but the shark was mostly (in early to mid game) if you saw the shark you had to hit it and scare it off

I think that’s kind of the point, and again I say this from place of nothing but respect and understanding in your response. But overall, the hammerhead’s are a medium to large brute force, underwater, alien creature, and I don’t think we should nerf part of the dynamic of the game to build in a couple of preferred locations when there are so many other preferred and beautiful locations here. One of the beautiful things about this game as I really feel that they have captured what was great about Subnautica one with giant open spaces, beautiful scenery and exotic array of fish creatures and abilities. At the end of the day this is an early access and anything could change and what you hoped for just Might. But in contrast, it’s similar to people saying they want the reaper Leviathan to be a little bit more calm because they want to see the awesome and exploded front half of the aurora. Now I get this is more extreme and that’s a Leviathan class predator but my point respectfully remains the same that some people like a challenge and where they build some people like a little bit more luxury, you have to outweigh the pros and cons of your place of stay and accept the general atmosphere, biome, predator, and prey dynamic in that area!

To the devs and community I enjoy all the plot and the way it’s going I am interested in the ||protea virus|| and how the ||Kharaa Bacterium|| could connect lore wise. It’s slightly different from the other two games but something I would like to see is a simulated time crunch like the first game so it’s a horror feel of if I don’t go fast enough bad things will happen. Congrats unknown worlds on your first early access release after so many lawsuits and struggles. Despite delays and legal issues you persevered and had a major victory for your company. Subnautica2 can only get better

It’s not hours later it was minutes, but given how you clearly can’t read tells me all I need, and it’s not incorrect, I have the correct specs, it ain’t the game dawg. If you actually have the correct specs you can play the game mainly without fps issues, I’ve hardly had a drop, don’t cry to the devs over and over again when a 3rd of the complainers here don’t even have a real GPU that functions for UE5 games.
