I've played for 4 hours since release, and the game meets all my expectations.

I wish there was an option to change the FOV and a menu to search for a co-op match with random players.

Because I'm a solo player (no friends).

That would be perfect for the gameplay experience!

Otherwise, the game is flawless; I haven't encountered any bugs or performance issues.

no i know but isn't that basically end of the content? or is there actually anything past that. bc i went past it a few times and all i could find was ||the other leviathan||. i feel like atm the game is kinda telling you "hey, there is nothing here but we'll add stuff later." like you can go past it but it's not encouraged. not to mention ||the other leviathan|| only spawns after you cross the said border which instantly begins the threat soundtrack which i feel like discourages going there

@spice zenith i wouldn't really say ignoring all story would get you to 7-8 hours as you can tap the voice thingies (where i assume is most of the in-game story) and it will explain the story while you can do other stuff. but you definitely won't be reading most of the pda or text only entries for that playtime, that's for sure

For anyone having Questions, here are some general answers:

Silver: ||You can find silver about 250 Meters north from your lifepod ||
Lead: ||Lead can be found even fourther north about 300 Meters from your lifepod at a Base||
Quarz ||Go North west from the lifepod. Behind a fracture are corals with much quarz on them||
Batteries: ||For batteries you need to knife the thing that gives you the healing gele right under your lifepod.||
Lucifer Rotsac: ||Can be found On top of plants, is glowing orange||
Lithium: ||is In caves in the heat zone||
Gold: ||is In caves in the heat zone, also accasionaly on the floor||
Salt: ||in the heat zone & in rock spire caves||

I have a theory on the player characters that's likely not at all original at this point and there's some unsubtle clues about it ||I think the colonists we are didn't actually exist and everything the Noetic Advisor says about our interactions with the colonists we are retrieving the blackboxes of is made up, possibly even some of it's references to the colonists past history in general basically anything that sound smore "personal" instead of technical"||

Probably first steam deck player here. Game runs great. With a few caviats. I had to crank everything down and run TSR on performance. It’s on a charger and almost uses up all of my apu power. 89 percent to be exact. The temperature is. Well doesn’t thermal throttle. And it only uses 12 out of 16 gb of ram

For anyone having Questions, here are some general answers:

Silver: ||You can find silver about 250 Meters north from your lifepod ||
Lead: ||Lead can be found even fourther north about 300 Meters from your lifepod at a Base||
Quarz ||Go North west from the lifepod. Behind a fracture are corals with much quarz on them||
Batteries: ||For batteries you need to knife the thing that gives you the healing gele right under your lifepod.||
Lucifer Rotsac: ||Can be found On top of plants, is glowing orange||
Lithium: ||is In caves in the heat zone||
Gold: ||is In caves in the heat zone, also accasionaly on the floor||
Salt: ||in the heat zone & in rock spire caves||
Heat Mod.: ||150m-200m ne from the lifepod is a destroyed flower that gives you the modification if you repair it.||
How to repair: ||follow the destroyed veins (2 total) and destroy the neon cyan flower things. after that they will be at the huge flower and you need to defeat them once more||

ngl that planet you can see in the sky in Subnautica 2 is actually super interesting from an astronomy perspective. it’s almost definitely a gas giant, and that glow near the edge really looks like an aurora, which probably means it has a strong magnetic field/magnetosphere. that’s huge because giant planets can kinda protect nearby moons from solar wind and some radiation, although if it’s anything like Jupiter the radiation belts around it could also be insanely dangerous lol

the color is interesting too because it’s way more red/orange than normal gas giants, so the atmosphere is probably full of weird chemicals, hydrocarbons, dust, or thick haze layers

and the rings are probably from a moon (or multiple moons) that got too close and got ripped apart by tidal forces, which is mental as hell

but the biggest thing is how massive the planet looks in the sky. the game location is probably orbiting really close to it, most likely on a moon. that would create insane tides and tidal heating, which could mean underwater volcanism, hydrothermal vents, and tons of energy for alien ocean life. honestly the whole setup feels super hostile but also weirdly perfect for a subnautica setting because tidal heating is one of the reasons moons like Europa and Io are so geologically active

and the two suns thing isn’t automatically impossible because binary star systems are super common irl, but it would definitely make the environment more chaotic with weird light cycles, stronger stellar activity, and harsher conditions overall

honestly the whole thing feels like a terrifying death trap that also accidentally creates perfect conditions for crazy alien ocean ecosystems, which is peak subnautica energy tbh
