Darn it, thanks. There are many games that were developed for DirectX12 and still works with dx11, but it seems Sn2 has a bit of code that prevents launch if it doesn't find dx12. We are maaany without a dx12 compatibility

The vibe in this game is absolutely incredible, especially the start. The tension that it provides to have all these sorts of dangerous plants and indigestion and a bunch of other things, and the lore that describes cadmium in the water and the tree and the plastic waxy plants and animals and the rest of those things, it just culminates into like a crazy vibe. Something that even Subnautica 1 didn't have. That had a stranded feeling, but here it truly feels like you're on a timer.

Sofar there is a huge bug that prevents you from quitting the game. I click quit game in the menu but in Steam it keeps running and when clicking stop game it doesnt stop so have to force quit Steam.

Silver: ||You can find silver about 250 Meters north from your lifepod ||
Lead: ||Lead can be found even fourther north about 300 Meters from your lifepod at a Base||
Batteries: ||For batteries you need to knife the thing that gives you the healing gele right under your lifepod.||

Oh well. The computer crashes while loading shaders. No messages, just a crash. Yes I updated my drivers, yes, they correspond to what the game suggests in the latest Service-updates area, yes, my specs should be fine to run the game. I guess I'll play after the next few patches. 🙂

I get stuck in a launch loop where I get a windows prompt asking me if I want Subnautica 2 to make changes to my device, I say yes then it gets to open and steam then asks me if I want to launch Subnautica 2 with the custom argument Subnautica2 Subnautica2 and then I press continue and then it trys to open for a few seconds then the cycle repeats, please help me for the love of God

For those struggling to get it to launch on Steam Deck (black screen and/or "the game exited incorrectly"), try going into the settings on the game page > Properties > Compatibility.

Mine was defaulting to Proton 11 Beta, setting it to Proton 10.0-4 let me get through. I still got the "exited incorrectly" message the next time I launched but clicking through it started to load and and I was able to launch and play. Relaunching a second time it just loaded, no error message.

Is there a know problem with nvidia game ready driver 596.49?
It worked for 2 hours until the driver crashed or something, which stopped my graphics card completely. Now my driver crashes every time I start the game (everything else works) and I need to restart my computer to do anything again.

If anyone knows how to fix it or a dev has a solution it would be very helpful 😃

It's less of DirectX12 and more of the Ultimate distribution of it.

To check if you support it, you can do the following:

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open the run window

  2. Type in dxdiag

  3. Click on the display tab

On the bottom you should have information, look for the one that says "DirectX12 Ultimate:".

If it says disabled, you will have to await a hotfix.

It's either a severe compatibility issue with regular DX12 or it requires Ultimate.

Lead: ||Lead can be found even fourther north about 300 Meters from your lifepod at a Base||
Batteries: ||For batteries you need to knife the thing that gives you the healing gele right under your lifepod.||
