Every other creature can be easily avoided or worked around. Reapers can be easily strafed, Ghosts can't get into tight spaces, Sea Dragon aggro isn't as bad as people think, and Shadows can just be zapped. Shadows are just annoying more than anything.

My favorite "hostile" creature is the Cryptosuchus. They're my favorite because they're all bark and no bite. People often don't know this, but Cryptosuchus are purposely loud and sharp to scare away potential predators. The charge they do is just for show because they're territorial. It does very little damage and they will immediately flee if they take ANY damage, even from a knife or from a slight bump against your sea truck.

Before, the crater (which is still there, but covered up) had a massive tunnel leading to the lava zone, basically calling back to the fact that Sea Dragons swim through it to hunt Reapers.

It would be very unrealistic to have a creature that chases you specifically to the ends of the planet when they have other means of acquiring food.
