the way i explore the dunes as safely as possible is spamming sonar so you can see where they are

they don't generally bother you unless you go close to them

and when they do, angle yourself so you're looking at the seafloor and hold the up button and yiu go super fast (just make sure there's nothing in the way)

and make sure yiu have the defense system in case you cant get away fast enough

when i was building my base which lies at ~170m, i used 3 solar panels as a temporary power source

they only received 19% sunlight in the mushroom forest and I can't remember how much power they generated between them but when fabricating, water filtering, charging vehicles etc, the power went down fast

that's what i mean by it's not worth it

you're better off just using a reactor for a more stable and reliable power source
