My partner has got her feet wet, but doesn't get much time to play and my oldest has got as far as the place where ||they built the warpers||, but hasn't dared ||follow the lava lower||.

It's a router thing. I'd assume nitro. Has something on their website about how to do it. Otherwise you can probably bypass it with hamachi or something

In a super general sense, opening your ports allows incoming traffic to pass into your machine. Which can allow friends to connect to you like you're on the same LAN network, but can also be dangerous because it opens your network up to potentially malicious traffic. I typically don't recommend it if you don't know what you're doing

Well they can attached as your moving on the surface and still be on it as you move deeper. Messes with the stability of the cyclops stay straight and making it collide into the rocks above you

but yes, you can extend scanning room radius out to 500 meters which lets you get quite a few materials it allows you to pinpoint the locations of all materials in that range from sandstone and limestone outcroppings, to larger mineable resource nodes

if you build it at spawn, chances are you'll also end up catching a bit of the jellyshroom caves with it so yeah you're likely to find large resource nodes

i love how my mind works when i play subnautica

loaded into my survival today planning to prepare to take my cyclops to the ||lost river|| for the first time by making modules for it
needed fuel for my bioreactors so got loads of oculi from the jelly caves
needed food sources so got loads of reginalds
chucked them all in my ||5-storey tall alien containment|| (they all got infected)
decided i wanted to build another large room
went to the crag field TWICE to collect surplus titanium
did a bit of a reshuffle of my base
built two more ||alien containments||
still dont have the modules for the cyclops

one is the grand reef which is where those big luminescent balls with strings attached to them are, if you go to the eastern island then go straight down you won't be that far off

my advice for subnautica is read everything you scan! a lot of it is just waffle about the creatures that you could do without but there is also a lot of useful information in those databank entries and you'll struggle if you ignore them

try extending your scanner range to the maximum and waiting for awhile, it takes time to scan new resources, further out it is, the longer it takes

theres large deposits that can only be collected by drilling via the prawn, those show up as basic resources on the scanner room. shale and sandstone outcrops both have a chance of gold if i remember correctly- i know for sure sandstone

just unsure abt the shale

my main source for gold is sandstone so thats why im certain of it being possible in there. they also drop lead and silver though so dont expect to get gold from every outcrop

If the repair tool has enough battery and you aren't actually using the laser cutter, then it might be a bug. Those are usually fixed on reload and you should ignore it, if your Cyclops has full health.

My submarine has 4% battery left and there's a lot of shockers around and they were attacking my submarine so I ran with it and go to a safe spot and hopped in my robot fly ONTOP the submarine to repair it and I forgot to put the robot back in the submarine 😭 now I'm left with 2 options use the remaining batteries I have to go bck for it or use my helicopter it's 130m away but there's like 5 shockers around should I risk it
