Nothing. Your first base part has to be at a specific height from the ground otherwise you can't build it.

You can't connect the lifepod though.

Rooms can be stacked, and you can have corridors with a vertical connector connecting them. You also have to build a ladder inside.

yeah the cyclops is super easy to get down there as long as youre not in the ghost zone

fires happen more frequently than the sprinklers can deal with (and remember that the fire system locks all the doors so its difficult to get out and repair while the fires are being dealt with (you can still make it out, you just have to be quick)) but they dont really do a whole lot of damage. i got out and repaired when i hit half health but i think you could reasonably postpone that a little more to go a little faster
