basically, technical explanation is:
on an earlier patch of the game, you could scan the prawn arm pieces (and the prawn pieces themselves)
these added up to 20, so the blueprint would say 20
this was changed however, so you can only scan the body pieces now
certain abandoned PDAs in the aurora give you the greyed out blueprint in the blueprint tab (for the prawn in this case)
most of these PDAs were updated from 20 to 4, but a few still give you the greyed out blueprint as a /20 rather than a /4
its just a visual bug though, getting 4 still works

well, theres nothing stopping you from going past the void
after a bit, you actually go into a biome-less area, so ghosts stop spawning
after that the physics engine (predictably) collapses
but since subnautica doesnt have procedural generation, the non-existant worldgen doesnt get screwed over after a while
