Note: I have been to the lost river many times for crystalline sulfur and nickel.

Make the ones you can and plan ahead. Place your modification station on board of a Cyclops and make sure you have a fabricator. You don't really need a thermal upgrade on a Prawn Suit, but you want it on the Cyclops. Meaning you don't have to go back and forth for the moonpool, and you can do all the endgame in one go.

On the Prawn Suit I like having two grapple arms, one drill arm (in the Prawn Suit storage in case I need it), depth module, jump jet upgrade, storages. On the Cyclops: engine efficiency, sonar, shield, depth module, fire extinguisher, thermal reactor.
And yes you need kyanite but you craft it inside the Cyclops so you just need to plant ahead for the other ingredients.

What personally helped me a lot was some extra inventory space on the Prawn, build a moonpool with a little extra room or so attached to it around the middle of the open lava zone, with a thermal reactor. Since it can be quite dangerous there, it's nice to have a little oasis when needed in a pinch. Also great for collecting resources.

I think it’s just a deep part to where I’m looking so I jump, IN MY ||PRAWN SUIT|| So, I realize it’s|| the void||, and I use my|| grappling arm || to stay on a wall, I turn around, and see THE BODY OF AN ||ADULT GHOST LEVIATHAN|| RIGHT INFRONT OF ME.
