This seems something ignis would be interresstet, for now try uninstalling and installing the game maybe you have deleted some files that are required to the game

Slower engine speed makes less noise (=hostile creatures need to be closer to detect it) and silent running reduces noise even more (with high energy use). Cyclops still won't be invisible, but creatures need to be really close to start aggroing. You can look at the cyclops 'radar' on the right when piloting: the blue area is where creatures can detect it and the size changes depending on engine setting and silent running on/off. Turning engine off makes cyclops basically invisible to creatures.

That and it’s a bit more difficult to make a solo character more interesting. Especially since the biggest part of the game is you going back and forth. A lot would have to be cutout or just rewritten completely. Then it would be Subnautica in name only. And nobody really has the budget to do water scenes hence why we don’t have many movies that are completely underwater. And even those are limited to a small area. Subnautica would need more space and resources to make things feel larger than it really is.

I don’t care about a slightly better swim speed, because when you have the seaglide, I just don’t see the point in majority of circumstances

That’s where I get them, is in the deep sparse reef. But they can be scattered about. Usually the wreck on the seabed near where you enter the deep part of sparse reef, has at least one power cell fragment inside (in my experience) with others scattered more among the way down
