hello! I checked the FAQ and searched for an answer using discord's search functions but was unable to find a resolution, so here I am please help my dumb ass out thank you

I subscribed to 7TV yesterday, and today I tried to upload an animated profile picture. I got an error message stating the file had to be under 5MB.

To rectify that, I used ezgif to get the file size down to 3.35MB, then tried uploading the optimized version. Now I'm getting the error message "Input File Too Large. Must be <2.5MB"

The image is square, optimized, 200x200px, under 5MB, and in .gif format currently.

So my questions:

• Does anybody know why the error message is changing (first 5mb requirement, then 2.5mb), or if the size requirements changed recently?
• Does anybody know if there are any other file requirements I'm missing that I can edit/optimize to rectify the error messages I'm getting?

But you can still lower the size of the file by either changing it to 140x140, or remove every 3rd frame then lengthen the frame time by 1.5x

But Anatole won't update the old website anymore because he's lazy because an entirely new version of the website is almost ready to go, and all effort is going towards getting it ready. Seems like this becomes an error when 7tv, ffz and bttv are installed. Removing either one of them seem to fix the issue

How do you control animated emote speed? On the upload page the speed is what I see when I open the file locally but after upload and on the channel the speed is much much less.

By my count it seems like the 5 frame animation is taking 0.5 seconds to complete (aka, 25 fps) while it's expected to be 60 fps, so 2.4 times the current speed.

arbitrarily forcing it to play back at 50 fps will just add stutters for anyone viewing on a 60 hz display

all emotes will be converted to have the correct sizes during the v3 migrations

this makes the emotes look small when the browser switches to a higher resolution for the image due to scaling

I changed my animated pfp a few hours ago. The change is shown on the 7tv.app website, but not on twitch (cleared cashe, hard refresh etc. already done). Any ideas?

If you changed your TWITCH profile picture since you last logged into 7TV.APP, you might have to relog into 7tv.app

I changed my Twitch pfp after changing the animated via 7tv. So I uploaded the animated pfp again to 7tv and relogged into 7tv to make sure. Twitch still uses a static pfp.

I set up the 7TV in my twitch but my viewers where not able to use the emotes that where uploaded and selected. Im pretty sure it has to be user error so im just trying to find out what need to be done so they can use the emotes.

7TV or BTTV (Better Twitch TV) if someone does an emote who has one of them download they see the emote. But to other people just see letters... the 3rd party cilent converts them letters into an emote for all people who have them downloaded to to see

The 7TV for example: just gets added to the Chrome extensions... you don't go through the extensions to watch a stream it will just be there when you go onto Twitch. You can then enable an emote menu and more if you'd like via the 7tv tab should be on the top right of your twitch page or bottom right using 7tv icon or gear cog...

Is the size limit 2 MB or 2.5 MB? the error when I try a 3MB image says it has to be under 2 but the normal text says 2.5

so the release of the v3 api isn't (or shouldn't) break your apps, you'll have plenty of time to upgrade before it's discontinued
