and since the emote still has the newer version up, it still tries to render it despite the base version cant be rendered (as the current emote shower will only show the base version of the emote)

but the system is being reworked at the moment as well, so in the future badges will be granted more "on time"

however this also means some people might have delayed badges for a while while stuff is being fixed

Hey I had changed my twitch name a while back and I messed something up. When I unlinked the account to re-link it. My 7TV profile went from my twitch name (jimmusan) to jimmusan_0.
Is there a way to fix this? It doesnt look like I can change my name in the profile section even though the box looks interactable.

it's not that the original versions are still there
but it's the problem that the other version still exists
so the emote is not considered as removed in the database
and the system tries to render the original version

this system would be changed in the new version of the 7tv site

but for now
if you would like to update the quality of the emote
upload it as another emote instead of a new version

you can upload emotes and use them even if you are not subscripted
emotes are listed when the mods deem them safe for users and streamers

I'm trying to manually put animated emojis from 7tv.app to my Discord server but they don't show or work as animated. I renamed the file from webp to gif and png and it doesn't work. I opened the file and it animates but when I upload it isn't. Can anyone help?

the only way to do this is through personal emotes. Those are a subscriber only feature. You get a personal emote set with 5 slots that you can then use on every stream

Also not all emotes are usable as personal emotes. They have to be used in at least 50 channels and have to comply to the regular twitch emote terms to prevent abuse of the feature for harrassment

You are not allowed to put special characters in emote name when upload, besides _

However you are allowed to use special character for emote aliasing, hence it works for your "renaming"
