Hello, my friend @covert lantern has issue. He want to link Kick account with 7TV BUT account was not linked, just created a new account. Would some kind admin be able to unlink or delete this new created account and link his Kick account to correct 7TV account?

Only Anatole can delete accounts at the moment. This whole issue is caused from linking accounts on Firefox/Brave browsers

In the meantime you can login to the accidental new account by logging out of 7tv and then right clicking the sign in button and sign in using kick.

Now, create a throwaway discord to link to the account. This will allow you to disconnect the kick connection and then you can log out and log into the main 7tv account and try to link the kick account using Chrome

When you link a discord account to the one you accidentally created, another account is created. I use Opera browser. Currently my friend is in the shop so we will try to do it with chrome browser when he back to me with milk 🥛 .

You can edit the capacity of your sets in the sets themselves, if you are not able it is probably because its a new account and it would need to be pushed by admins so youd have to wait (they are tons of channels that need this)

we dont want to move channels to emotes that they did not add themselves

I tried linking my new Kick account to my existing Twitch account on 7tv following the exact steps described in your Kick to 7TV instructions page.

The result was, rather than linking my Kick account to my existing Twitch 7TV account (Quillcannon), it created a new 7TV account that has zero privileges (quillcannon_2661). Can't add emotes, can't create sets, can't add editors, basically a dead account. Unlinking doesn't work. Following the s teps all over again doesn't do anything, either.

hi, i set up my 7tv today and whenever i try to link my kick to it a popup pops up and says to please wait 10 seconds and then it goes away after 10 seconds. Then the 7tv log on the top right next to my kick logo just says wait 10 seconds until i refresh and then it says i need to sign in. it never says connected.

also i have completely removed ALL other extensions in chrome to make sure nothing was causing any issues. and i cant see kick linked on my 7tv account either. also tried both versions of 7tv, stable and nightly.

what makes it weirder is that i can see all the emotes and use them across the platform in other peoples channels that use 7tv and i can see their colored names and such. Please Help! Thanks!

if that was the issue, ask for the wrong account (the one with the numbers attached) to be removed and try again once the falsely created account has been deleted.
if it still doesn't work, you're in the same situation as all the people that have been reporting this issue for the past days.
both here and in #1011978838848311316, e.g. #1115820514125033492 (half the problem is gone as there is no permission error anymore, but the linking issue still persists).

from what I can tell, there is nothing more that users can do, except maybe try a different browser and pray.
you can't delete your own account, so you will have to wait for a staff member to delete it every time it creates a false account.

its because linking connections uses a third party cookie, which apparently a lot of browsers disable

its unsure why

theres nothing inherently wrong with them and they're useful

if you're not already signed in with an account then there's nothing to link into, so a new account is made
disabling cookies prevents the server from knowing how you're logged in

what usually browsers do block are workers that do not have a source, which I see popping up every now and again from the 7tv extension. that might be the source of the issue. use of sourceless workers is non-compliant behaviour and is blocked by almost all browser except for chrome.

it is often displayed as sourceless, which causes errors and/or warnings, depending on the browser.
(might be caused by some prior API calls not supported in those browsers resulting in the source not being retrieved properly, that can happen as chrome likes to do their own thing)

but linking worked in chromium.
the auth flow with kick overall is awful (on their side), no idea why they don't have a proper extension portal like discord and twitch yet.
