well you essentially softlocked your discord onto that old account

there's a way around it but it's kinda a pain and you'd still have your old username (changing username on the 7tv site will be implemented very soon)

Step 1: create a new discord account and link it to your new 7tv account that was accidentally created

Step 2: unlink your twitch account from the new 7tv account

Step 3: log out of the new 7tv account and then right click the sign in button and login with discord.

You can then login with the original discord account linked and you should gain access to the old account

Step 4: link your twitch account to your old 7tv account

that's the only fix I know of currently

I've made an interesting discovery, I installed Firefox to see what would happen if I were to try signing in on a separate browser and it let me sign in? I just had to enter my username and password like normal. For some reason this issue is just happening for me in Brave Browser. Which is annoying because Brave is the browser I use for my main accounts on everything

I also did just try signing out of Twitch on Brave, which seemed like it was going to work since it gave me the Twitch log in option on 7tv.app again however after logging in it just gives me the same error that its bound to another user.

I tried to link my Discord account to my 7TV account, the window popped up and I pressed authorise and instead of linking them, it somehow created an account with my Discord Tag as the username.

could be mistaken as I can't find the instructions someone posted here before but I think you'd want to create a new account on twitch, attach it to the account your discord is connected to, then you should be able to remove your discord from that account, log into your normal 7tv account and link the discord account there. @rugged dust I think thats correct?

ive found a couple weird bugs, in my mates stream when searching an emote in the emote menu the names of the emotes are the same but when using : to search they show up as their supposed names, AND when using those emotes in his overlay one is supposed to be red and fast but it shows as rainbow and fast

Deletion should be instant. Also, you can upload more than one Emote with the same name. However, you can't have two emotes with the same name in the same Emote-Set. Deletion of an emote doesn't automatically remove it from your set, IIRC. Head over to your Emote-Set and remove the deleted emote from there. You should be able to put in a new emote with the same name afterwards.

The emote is a owned emote so I don't know if that effects it. It just says no longer available. I also am trying to upload an Emote with the same name and it will not let me saying it's a bad name.

7tv bot for discord wont start any ideas?

I was logged into my 7tv account earlier and noticed the "link to Discord option" so I clicked it and authorized it, but it created a new 7tv account that's separate from my Twitch/YT 7tv account and now whenever I try to log into 7tv using Twitch, I get the error message:

I've tried logging out of the Discord 7tv account and deleting my cookies, emptying my cache

I can log into 7tv using Twitch on an incognito browser, but just not on my main browser

So the fix for this I think is a bit of a pain.

1. go create a new twitch account
2. on 7tv right click the login button and select "use discord"
3. you should be on your account that only has the discord linked and now you want to link that twitch account you just created to this account.
4. now that you have another account linked. you should be able to disconnect discord from this account now.
5. log out of 7tv and twitch. then log back into twitch on your main account.
6. try logging onto 7tv via twitch now and you should be able to access the account again.

Otherwise the only other option would be for one of the Admins to delete the account that was accidently created via discord.

Sounds odd but have you tried closing out of all instances that are open of browser and Twitch and or try re logging into Twitch. If that doesn't help I would restart the PC. I know these sound arbitrary but I have experienced weirder and had stupider solve it. Lemme know,

you can still access this account with your discord if you right click the sign in button top right

Keep in mind, the 7tv account is decoupled from the twitch account, and register the first username as the 7tv display name.
So far there is no way to change it, especially not unlinking your twitch account and sign in (up) again with it.
