It seems emotes that are not in the "default" emote set but originating from other sets don't get a +1 to the usage count if you look at the emote stats. This will make it harder for the seasonal or themed emotes to reach the 50+ requirement for personal emotes.

Yeah the normal player does a lot of things I really don't like

The audio is often super low quality and sounds like it's 24kbps - borderline deepfried.
The changing of the video quality down to like 240p automatically when you're not tabbed into the twitch tab, tabbing back in makes it jump back to what your quality setting is, which would cause the video to cut out or reload.
The alt player is a lot less laggy & I've never had issues with it

volume control with mousewheel & an easy mute stream with middle mouse click, instant replay without having to clip or access the VOD from Alt player features, you can change network settings a lot & increase or decrease your buffer size

quite a lot, alt player for me is just a much better experience - and until today I could see emotes in it just fine

it worked before probably it cached the image file from the old 7tv site
but since 7tv updated to V3 and new site, it might not know about the new site, so it failed now trying to fetch from the old site

if you right click on alt player you can basically submit a feedback report / bug report

but it doesn't seem to let you actually submit it anymore

I'm not a plugin dev so I'm not really sure what that means

but until clearing cache, it worked exactly as normal twitch chat when it came to 7tv. If a new emote was added, I'd see it in chat

7tv emotes installed via the FFZ addon will work in alt player chat

I guess FFZ can hook into alt player chat but the actual 7TV chrome addon will not

not sure on the technical side of that why that is

because FFZ is up to date with the 7tv V3 extension

@granite arch Looks like you were having the same issue I was w/ alt player. That's how you fix it, remove the 7TV browser addon from chrome & enable it only in FFZ addons folder.

Or is it some weird permission thing, cause I've used alt player for 11 months now and 7tv emotes were always displayed on it, even using the actual chrome extension rather than ffz addon

I'm not sure, I used the search and seen Melon say that Alt player "embeds the chat in a secure frame"

I'm just kinda curious why enabling 7tv via ffz addons allows it to work but the actual extention doesn't

it's not like FFZ has anymore or any less 'site access' on the extension page

Yeah so tl;dr.
Enabling 7tv via ffz addon list allows it to work in alt player chat vs using the chrome 7tv extension does not allow it to work in alt player chat.
Maybe that info can help you guys get it working consistently with the 7tv extension

the 7tv extension cant really work with alt player

because of the way extension permissions work

its something the alt player devs have to do on their end, not ours

which is why ffz does work

no, the display name will not change, it will be based on the name of the channel you register with,
but the functionality wont be affected, which means you can still use 7tv, just under a different name

When adding Tags to an Emote, is there a way to 'simulate Spaces' despite them not being allowed in Tags?
I'm asking because I'm trying to add "some" «Baba is You» Nouns as Emotes, but "Is" is too short to be allowed as a stand-alone Tag and "Baba is You" also isn't allowed due to Spaces, so currently I can't see a way to allow searching for "Baba is You" and successfully finding «Baba is You» Emotes

Right click on the emote
Press Use Emote...
Enter the name you want to change to in the text box at the top right of the pop up window
Press on the green color pen icon at the emote set your emote is in
If it is successful, there will be a prompt in your twitch chat notifying you the emote has been successfully renamed

Just came up with a solution; Add Tags "Babaisyou", "Isyou" and "you" and "Is" is being covered by "Isyou", same for "Baba". Plus, is also covers People searching without Spaces.
Oh boy, that Strategy changes some stuff
Edit: Nope, apparently, it doesn't seem to work; Or does successfully updating Tags also takes its time?
Edit2: Might it be the case that the Emote Search doesn't even allow to search for multiple Tags at once? 😵‍💫

you can't search for multiple tags at once no, but "babaisyou" should definitely be enough!
