If it helps the account I'm trying to add emotes for is "fanhots" and the existing 0 width emotes haven't been removed. In past months the count has dropped from eg 400/400 to 320/400 once the sub expires.

How do I disable the Halloween emotes? They override the normal ones.

I mean, having the emotes in a halloween version is the choice of the streamer that you're watching. There is no way for you to disable them on your own afaik.

You can disable or remove your ability to see 7tv emotes if you don't like the halloween theme, but thats not going to remove them from the chat that you're looking at

they're just for tweaks on existing emotes not for entirely new emotes

otherwise emotes wont have the same reach

because when "variants" are introduced, the very-similar-looking word "versions" might confuse anyone that isn't looking too closely

not a super huge concern

but "updates" certainly would accurately imply the intended use case
