i would use double space (which apparerently works with twitch) but that'd require directly hijacking the socket IRC

which is possible, but could have negative effects on other extensions and such

but that doesn't allow doing the double space method, since twitch normalizes the input clientside

on this branch, if you use the emote picker to pick an emote and then send it off by clicking on send, then pick the same emote again and click on the send button the send button just greys out without showing the 'message not sent because duplicate' popup because the emote picker is over it and i thought first that i just broke something.

i know a few people who click send for some reason, no idea why but right now there's no indicator of why its greyed out if you have the overlay open too

maybe extend ctrl to also work if you click on send? or make it so the 'your message wasnt sent' popup is over the layout instead of behind it so people know why send is greyed out

because the send button is also greyed out when you're currently timed out so it looks confusing

chatterino is native and way more efficient than web could ever be

try loading up a chat that's actively spamming a thousand emotes per second (ie empirrre yesterday), the whole page will lock up. Even with more mature and optimized extensions like FFZ

One way to mitigate this in the future could be to add an option to "stack" repeated emote spam, and maybe it only shows up when hovering

that might help make web chat less laggy in really fast chats
