Like i really want to be a farmer that does everything from animal husbandry to apiaries, but when a game gives me an option to process meat from my animals, i just cannot do that to my farm friends

I actually feel like that in real life .. if we ever get our own chickens to get eggs .. we'd have to work an agreement with a local butcher to swap chicken for pre cut meat .. we wouldn't be able to kill them ourselves

The human mystery is definitely something I think about, but I'm also thinking on an exploration level. I do know that the only real 'combat' thing is hunting after reading. Do they plan on having a profession system then if that's the case?

No idea specifically on set professions, but crafting and resource gathering will of course be huge parts of the game. They said there will be "plenty of bars to fill" as well as how good you are at something will determine how good the product you get is. E.g. a lvl 1 and lvl 30 cook making the same dish will have the lvl 30 cook coming out with the better product

That makes a lot of sense. I'm aware this is an MMO. And there's to be activities with other players. But I'm also think on the exploration level of how others could help eachother. Like, just a ruins as a basic example. It might be a good idea to have a buddy that can decipher texts or meanings, maybe able to help find stuff. Maybe a miner that could unblock paths (if mining is it's own profession.)

I think they mentions having dungeon like content but no idea on how it would play out. Having people if certain skills would be really cool like you said, and also just puzzles!

It would be cool if it was kinda randomized on what you needed each time. So maybe an explorer could go in ahead of time, scout out a little to see what's needed, and then bring the people and tools necessary next time!

Simple alphabetical letter swapping for the language, but I liked that you found texts as you played through the game that served as teaching you the translation, so if a character spoke Al Bhed you got captions that were only translated with however many letters you knew so far.

But yes, deciphering and tracing back are two completely different things. A linguist may be able to translate old English to modern, but they won't be able to translate a mysterious old/dead language to todays english. You're looking more into historian or scholar territory

But making a language is something anyone can do. What makes it a good language or can be passable to another person? That depends on who's studying it. The creators of a language is created by the civilization or collection of entities that need it so communication is clear. It's a thing that comes natural and smooth.

English is dubbed the hardest language to learn because it's not very smooth, it's extremely slow and a lot of words have the same meaning. A conversation in 10 minutes in English could possibly be had in half the time of a different language

Never give a dress or brooch to the game's tomboy. Even if a dress isn't strictly jewelry, it was counted in the same category of gift, aesthetics.

I started programming back around 2016 to write a dedicated calculator for my forum game. I still have all that python code, actually, saved up here.

It eventually led me to an engine called SRPG Studio, taught me some super cursed edition of JavaScript. That led me to RPG Maker for a while, though I use that less.

That led me to C++, and while learning C++, someone I was learning with told me about Palia.

So in a way, if I'd never started programming, I wouldn't be here in the first place.

Charlie the chapaa that Auni trapped to have as a pet. Champagne who was a baby chapaa whose mother died and Kenyatta rescued the baby and is looking after it with the help of the stable boy. And Charisma is an adventurous chapaa who helps Jina uncover artifacts and ruins for her research. They all get parts in some of my artwork here with a little story that will get added into bigger story 🙂

Because the crafted gear is considered BiS for some patches, like how the Aesthete gear was BiS for endgame crafting back in Shadowbringers

I’m currently playing a lot of Dying Light 2 and it has weapon durability, but I think is fair there bc is not as low as botw and you basically are constantly finding better and better weapons even in places with low level
I think durability could be done BUUUUUT it needs to be rewarding to the player as well as challenging

Very good methodology

I've learned of some software development methodologies and they all just...feel nonsensical. Only because nobody has gone outside of them except the indie devs. Business stick to a rule of thumb while freelance artists create beauty and unique landscapes, characters...

and then add to it later

one can hope .. we have Jel who is a tailor .. it's possible he trains you in their skill .. based on skills we know there are npc's with those skills as their speciality .. so there are possible other skills that may find their way into the game at some point if not there on release .. FFXIV has that and actually, it caused some issue because people would make macros, or automated commands input into the game, that followed along with midi files of copyrighted songs. As a result, Square Enix had to crack down hard. If you go to crowded areas in FFXIV that have someone playing music, and you are streaming, you better hope that they aren't playing a song that is copyrighted, otherwise you can get in major trouble for it.

I was thinking of doing it Yakuza style, where the songs are original, pre-recorded, and you can choose from a tracklist.

Oh, I didn't even think about the noise issues, too. I forgot about that because I became so desensitized to it in FFXIV that it just became normalized, but yeah, it can be annoying when someone is trolling with the instruments.

That's why keeping it to private areas away from the overworld would be better off imo, so that way, there's no way to troll or annoy others with the music, or threaten streamers who can't show copyrighted music

There is actually, in FFXIV, jail for players who broke a rule. You are then to talk to a mod from within your jail cell, who will then decide whether to keep your ban instated, or let you back into the overworld with a warning.

I think the fishing and gardening and everything is available to you but you would just have better use of a skill because you chose that expertise and then build upon the others.
