Hello my name is Wippit and I'm a non-alpha spouse. It has been two days since alpha took my wife. And we have two more days of alpha invites. So, this is the fulcrum. Perfectly balanced.

How does one prepare for a long-duration absense, in the event I don't get the email? Pre-alpha was 65 days. Two months of not being able to game with her. Two months of her being absorbed in something I couldn't share. Two months of talking to people I couldn't talk to. She had an entire separate life in Palia. I had a genetically modified hamster in a giant metal ball with twin-linked machine guns. I mean, it just doesn't compare.

I get the feeling Alpha is going to be longer. WAY longer. She will be back in her world, with her life, and her people. And no number of hamsters, Brazilian DJs, or very large armored elderly German freaks will be able to fill that void. Nor will dying over and over in a hardcore ARPG. Or Minecraft. Or even my job.

I hate my job...

Well, blacksmithing is making tools and such. Gear would be... armorsmithing and weaponsmithing.

For example FFXIV has way too many places to run to pick things up, the goal shouldn’t be to spend time picking the 50 skills up but rather more effectively pick up 1 skill and spend your time doing 50 things for that skill
